Advantage of this hotel is its location. It is several minutes away from the center of tourism but still we can enjoy overlooking the canal. Disadvantage is also its location. The boat ride is not a big matter but sometimes difficult to go to restaurants at the main island. The room itself is not big but still good as standard of Venetian hotels. My room was facing to the canal and the view was magnificent. Breakfast is served at the restaurant which has court yard tables, too. Atmosphere is very nice but the food is not the best best level as one of the Italian luxurious hotels. It is a pity that the hotel does not have a good restaurant to have a dinner.
We loved the Palladio. Venice was mobbed with tourists and the Palladio was the best part of our visit. The staff are friendly, our room was large and comfortable the the food was excellent. Especially enjoyed dining on the garden. Transport to San Marcos was easy too.
Old fashioned hotel! The loony looks like in a movie of the 70ies. The room was huge nice and clean but with old carpets and needed to be refreshed. Breakfast was fine and very fancy toiletries but In general the hotel needs an update!
We were fortunate enough to stay here as part of our tour of Europe. Upon arrival via water taxi the outside of this hotel doesn't look very appealing. Don't for a second let that be your guide. This hotel was once a monastery with elegant architecture with a beautiful courtyard garden. The beauty of this place is you are away from the huge crowds at San Marco's with only a 5 or so minute water taxi ride across to enjoy all the it has to offer. Our room was well equipped, with a comfortable bed. The old shutter blinds would clatter a bit at night with the wind but this only added to the charm of this place. The walk through the courtyard garden was so peaceful. As our trip was in spring we were not able to enjoy the beauty this garden would display if it were summer. Breakfast was modest with nothing exceptional to mention. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. This was a very nice stay for us.
My partner & I spent 5 wonderful days at this stunning hotel & spa. From the moment we arrived until we left the staff & hotel was just perfect. The rooms are fantastic, the gardens are beautiful & the building is stunning. We had such a wonderful time we are already planning to return in the very near future. If you want your own private peaceful retreat that is only 5mins away from the mad crowds of main island Venice then this is the place to stay.
Top drawer staff, room, and grounds. Located across lagoon from St, Mark's Square. Hotel has free water taxi service for guests, which runs every 30 minutes. We enjoyed returning to this quiet, relaxing location after a busy day of exploring other Venetian islands. Looked forward to our wine and cheese on the patio, overlooking the gardens, upon our return every evening.
Really beautiful hotel and staff are all so pleasant and helpful. It was my boyfriends birthday and hotel put a bottle of bubbles in the room for him that evening - very much appreciated ;-) The free shuttle boat to sister hotel was a great asset to this hotel. Lots of beautiful restaurants within few min walk and a fraction of the price of those over around San Marco etc
Hotel is located on an island but is accessible from San Marcos via its sister hotel's boats that ran every thirty minutes. The hotel rooms are elegant but not very practical. The layout is pretty convoluted. The front desk is fairly rude. The list price is about $600 a night even though there seems to be no customers other than two tour groups that clearly paid much less. Three waited in the bar but there was no customer. Fitness center cost 80 euros.
Nice balance of everything, room size, quallty breakfast, lovely comfortable lounge areas, garden area, spacious and tastefully decorated. Be prepared for boating costs to/from anywhere you go, but then when you see the accomodation, forget about the daily wear n tear. Go to Burano, have lunch or dinner on the island
Hotel is in a good location if you do not want to be in the busy tourist area in the centre of Venice. However our room was in need of mdernisation, as were most of the communal areas of the hotel. It is advertised as hotel and spa, but when we went to the spa they told us there would be an additional charge of €120, and not surprisingly there was nobody else there. The restaurant was good, and the staff were friendly, and the hotel is very close to the vaporetto.
