This lovely hotel is located on Giudecca just across from St. Mark’s Square & the Doge’s Palace. It is elegant, sophisticated, not inexpensive, and worth every Euro. We stayed 10 days in a duplex suite and found a haven away from the awful tourist bustle of the Venice’s ‘Times Square’. With an excellent buffet breakfast, large gardens in the rear, and excellent, helpful, & professional service the Bauer Palladio made Venice a pleasure to visit.
Took a trip with friends to venice and stay in the palladio hotel and spa and we were not disappointed. It used to be a nuns home which you can see when you stay, it has a very large beautiful garden which is rare in venice. We stayed in gorgeous 2 storey room at the front of the hotel with a balcony. Hotel has free water taxi that takes you over to its city hotel palazzo as hotel is on opposite side to city centre. Would definately stay here again and venice is the most beautiful city. Great to sit out on balcony and watch the cruise ships go past down the lagoon. Great views of venice from hotel. Breakfast has a great range of food..hotel has restaurant but we never ate there because just so much to see.
The Palladio Hotel & Spa is located on the Giudecca Island facing St. Mark’s Square. As we arrived by water taxi at the private landing of the hotel; staff met us and quickly took our bags and escorted us to check-in staff. The staff was very welcoming, explained the hotel services and en route to our room highlighted where the restaurant, garden area, and spa were. It is indeed a beautiful hotel with the feel of Venice without the crowds. The interior of the hotel reflects the peace and serenity of the surroundings, very luxurious, beautifully decorated and yet very comfortable. Our room was a two-story layout with a sitting area downstairs, while upstairs was a spacious bedroom area, with lots of windows that open on to a courtyard. The bathroom was modern and well appointed. The choice and quality of included buffet breakfast served is excellent. The hotel restaurant is vegetarian and focuses on serving local food; the room service menu is more varied and includes non-vegetarian items. As an alternative, there are several excellent restaurants on Giudecca Island. The Zitelle vaporetto stop is a two-minute walk from the hotel, which provides a direct route to the airport and access to Venice and other islands. After a busy day of visiting Venice, we looked forward to returning (via the hotel shuttle) to Giudecca island as a guest at Palladio Hotel & Spa. We spent several incredibly afternoons drinking coffee and cocktails at the nearby bar and watched the sunset an exceptional way to end a busy day.
Room was good and staff is friendly. The constant free taxi service to San Marco is convenient. But on the garden side one has to endure the constant noise from the hotel's air conditioning, which is very annoying and wakes you up in the morning. The breakfast is very reduced and not on 5-star level.
This is the second time we have stayed at the hotel and it is just a fantastic place, the staff are excellent, the rooms are stunning and the food is second to none. We had a lovely room with a small garden area that was a joy to sit in and the room itself (room 3) was beautiful. This has to be one of the best hotels within the Venice area as I cannot fault it at all, we are already planning our third stay for 2018. Don’t count this place out when planning your next trip as you will be sorry.
My wife and I had a wonderful 3 night stay in this beautiful hotel. We had a junior suite in the gardens - the room was extremely well appointed and very spacious. The gardens themselves are magnificent and we really enjoyed the serenity. The shuttle boat across to San Marco was a pleasant way to commute into Venice and back - don't worry about it being too far, it is only a few minutes each way with regular service (and always on time). The only minor issue was that we could here the family in the adjoining room - a little sound proofing between rooms would be helpful. The staff are absolutely brilliant and nothing we asked was too much trouble. We had some special dietary requirements and Valentina at breakfast really looked after us. We also had dinner in the restaurant and while we are not vegetarians, the food was extremely good and the staff were exemplary! Overall we loved this hotel and will definitely be back!
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights for our honeymoon. We had a garden suite. The hotel staff were very friendly, and we had a heart balloon, prosecco and cards waiting in our room for us. The room was huge and spotless, and the house keeping service was fantastic - every day when we got back to the hotel it was like returning to a new room. Breakfast was very good, and the chef was friendly - he made bacon just for me as it had ran out by the time we got to breakfast. The free shuttle boat is great - it may essentially be a taxi but it's very romantic. The driver was really friendly and always on time. It's absolutely no bother not staying on the main island. The gardens of the hotel are beautiful too and we enjoyed strolling around them. We absolutely loved Venice and would definitely return to this hotel!
This is a return trip for us to this property, which is simply as amazing as ever. It is a beautiful property, close to St Mark's square via a quick boat ride. Being situated on the island of Giudecca gives you an amazing view of San Marco and of the sights in Venice, but keeps you away from the midst of the hustle and bustle of the square. It has well tended gardens, and outdoor spaces, which makes it a great venue for families, and it is a very comfortable and relaxing place. The spa is wonderful, as is the restaurant. There is a great breakfast buffet available in the morning, and a vegetarian restaurant with impeccable service and delicious meals. The staff at the hotel make the property. They are extremely friendly, helpful, and go out of their way to help in any way they can. This hotel is one of Venice's hidden treasures. It is deserving of a 5 star rating. However, I did give it 4 for two reasons: One is the strong smell of cigarette smoke that lingers all the way from the elevator to our room. It seems that even though this is a non smoking property, the staff smokes in the section right below us which has an opening to our level, or outside a door there and leaves it open, It's strong and unbearable, and frankly simply shocking that they would allow their staff to smoke on property. In any event, if you are at this hotel, make sure that they do not give you a room on the mezzanine level of the Domus area unless you love for you and your family to be immersed in secondhand cigarette smoke stench. The second is the wifi. The wifi speeds are worse that I experienced in 1994 with 1200 baud dialup internet. For this day and age its shockingly slow.
We were booked at the Palladio as part of our Kompas tour. Wasn't sure if being removed on the Island of Guidecca would be an issue, but it wasn't. In fact, we loved the locale. It was quiet and provincial. The Hotel is very nice and charming. We found the breakfast to be quite well done. They have a boat dock right out front , and the hotel boat can take you across the Lagoon to their sister hotel, the Bauer which is adjacent to St. Mark's. We loved being able to come back and relax in the quiet after a crowded day in Venice. Would stay here again.
One of, if not THE, best hotels I have ever visited. Quite location in a restored cloister/monastery. Part of the Bauer hotel group providing 5 star hotels in Venice. If you want coffee or anything in the morning, just call room service. They bring it promptly and without charge. Amazing friendly and helpful staff. Easy to get around Venice as there is a vaporetto stop immediately in front of the hotel. Excellent and plentiful buffet breakfast. Many great restaurants nearby if you don't want to eat at the hotel.
