This hotel was a little out dated, but very clean and very large. The bathroom looks recently updated though. The staff and service was wonderful. Near a market, and provides a fridge. This hotel is close to the train station. Away from the "mayhem" of downtown Venice. It's not a far walk to get to the streets of downtown Venice and about a 25-30 minute walk to St Marks Square.
I stayed here for two nights prior to a Mediterranean cruise. This is one of the closest hotels to the cruise port and very conveniently located next to the People Mover which is the easy way to get there with your luggage. Even better, this hotel can be reached easily with the 8 euro bus that leaves from Marco Polo airport and its first stop is Piazella Roma and this hotel. Nothing else is this convenient and involves an expensive water taxi or a crowded vaporetto to get to your hotel with luggage not to mention the bridges that are everywhere. I stayed in the nearby addition that has gotten some criticism on this forum. I knew I was booking there. I found it comfortable and a two-minute walk from the hotel. Very easy. My room was spacious and the bathroom one of the largest I have seen in Europe ever. While somewhat dated, the bed was comfortable, the room was spacious and the shower was nice. Two oddities" no shower curtain whatsoever so sharing a bathroom might be complicated. I was alone. The other oddity was that there was no soap dish and nowhere to put the soap> Little thing, not that important, but odd. I was pleased with the front desk and their helpful ability throughout my stay. When there was an issue with wifi, I went there and they called their provider and it was immediately remedied. How often does that happen? All in all, this hotel, while not close to all the attractions in Venice, is so easy to arrive and depart and the vaporetto is next door. You can get to San Marco or Rialto in minutes. Plenty of restaurants around there with charming outside canal dining. I give a high recommendation to this wonderful place. Oh...and it was my first trip to Venice and yes, Venice is absolutely charming in every way. One more thing, there was some criticism on here about the optional breakfast. I disagree. For the price, breakfast was ample, delicious, hot, no waiting, view of the canal...two thumbs up there too!
Great location Hotel in need of a remodel, especially in the annex where the rooms were straight out of the 80 ish with a light brownish color carpets and light lime green walls. The furniture was older wood and really looked like something my grand parents would live in. For $300/++ per night in the middle of the week I had expected at least a bit of décor! Really a total repaint and re-carpet would have done wonders here along with a photo or picture or two on the walls. The location is PERFECT at the entrance of the canals, super market next door, many restaurants and an under ground garage - extra cost of course but perfect option for folks like us driving in. Staff was ok, really only the bell hop/valet/parking guy out front was friendly. When I forgot my papers and map in the car after he parked it under ground he went down to look. His English was limited still he tried. Did not find it told me again where to look and 2nd time around he found my paper work. What a great genuine guy always with a smile on his face. Front desk personal so so, older guy not very friendly and when the younger guy had trouble with our bill the older guy did nothing to help, bad team work or looked that way at least. Was it not due to the valet, parking guy and location I would have rated this place a 2 star! Probably would not, or for sure not stay in that old annex again. Maybe in the main building but who knows!
Sitting in the bar looking down the grand canal was a great experience. This is s great hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Everything is clean and the breakfast is also really good! The porter who is of Sri Lankan descent is very helpful.
This hotel was incredibly convenient! I arrived by train and left on a bus to the airport - the train was a few blocks or one stop away on the vaporeto (water bus) and the bus station was steps away - as was the Vaporeto stop and a supermarket and post office. The room wasn't inspiring but was large and the bed was very comfortable and the pillows amazing! The breakfast was also quite good.
We recently stayed here for two nights prior to a cruise. My mom uses a wheelchair and I chose this property due to its location which proved to be most helpful. We were able to get a transfer from the airport directly to the hotel and roll the wheelchair down the ramp into the hotel. An elevator is there in the new part and the room was easily accessible with the wheelchair. Breakfast was excellent. The vaporetto stop is just outside, a few minute walk. After we checked out, the People Mover is only a short walk across the square to transport us over to the cruise port. The new rooms were furnished very nicely and had wonderful views of the canal. Love the lights around the mirrors in the bathroom! Great choice if you are looking for something convenient to the airport, bus and train station as well as the cruise port.
what a lovely hotel with very warm and very helpful staff lovely room, nice and roomy and typically venetian taste great location not far from station and close to tourist terminal lots of eateries and sights to see within walking distance beautiful breakfast
We stayed at the hotel for two days before our cruise. We were 2 families of 4 people. I'll start by saying that I booked the hotel because of the recommendations on location and my experience certainly justified all the reviews. The location is great, the staff very helpful and considerate to the needs of the customers. The breakfast was very good and varied. And now ... to the subject of the attached building the annex. Our family room was svery large and there was nothing missing. The building is very close to the supermarket and bus stations. But the feeling is very strange, as if you are staying in a apartment and not a hotel... I would highly recommend to arrange a seating area at the entrance + smoking area in order to feel more in a hotel. The Bottom Line: A wonderful stay! Good value for money. Thanks to the team that helped and advised. Misha
Stayed here for 3 nights in one of the hotel's deluxe rooms. Room was excellent with very comfy bed, pillows and so clean. Our room was on first floor and there was a bit of noise from people outside but not enough to keep us from sleeping. Loved the bathroom with the coloured lights round the mirror. Great hairdryer and toiletries replenished every day. Air conditioning was very efficient and quiet. Breakfast was ample with lots of fresh fruit etc. Service was a bit slow at breakfast but there was usually just one person serving and making hot food and tea and coffee. We didn't mind the wait but sometimes it took a while for scrambled eggs etc to be replenished but better to be fresh than sitting for a while. Molly and the rest of the team certainly worked hard and always had a smile. The location of this hotel is excellent and we arrived by taxi from airport which was €40 flat rate. Very close to bus station, train station and vaporetto stop. I would definitely recommend staying here if visiting Venice as it is nice to be slightly out of the hubbub but close enough to walk into the centre. All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would definitely stay in this hotel again.
The view of the canal from the guest room is splendid.
