Ok... so you think you're staying at a 4 star hotel, however down the canal (approx 2 blocks) there is a 3 star building that they own. Not only were we staying in this three star building (that we weren't aware of) but we were in a handicapped room on the first floor. Definitely confirm you are in the main building on a higher floor. The beds were super comfortable! Considering most Euro hotels have very average beds, these are great! The location was not phenomenal, however it pushed us to use the water bus and go to other locations. Because of this location we explored the whole city of Venice instead of staying close to our hotel (like we would have done if we were in a nicer hotel in a ritzier section of Venice). The water bus costs 30 euros for the two day pass and is right outside the hotel - so in this case, great local. To get to the nicer parts it take 20 - 45 mins, but the water bus is very enjoyable! Also - near train station! The breakfast (for us, included in the room rate), was above average. With eggs, toast, and fruit.
We had a wonderful 2 day stay at this hotel post cruise. The location couldn't be better for access to both the airport and cruise terminal. We stayed in the main hotel, which has been re-decorated and re-modeled. Our room was lovely, very comfortable and modern. Although the room looked down over the very busy piazzle roma, the soundproofing was excellent. The breakfast was also very good. Would definitely recommend this hotel; particularly if access to transportation in and around Venice is important to you. It was all right outside our door and couldn't have been easier
Stayed here for a week and were made to feel very welcome by the staff! We were given advice on where to go, mum got a bottle of wine on her birthday and the room itself was stunning! The hotel was right next to the ferry and bus station so travel was easy and it was also a short walk away from many attractions and restaurants. We paid for breakfast too which was lovely and the dining room had beautiful views of the canal. If you go to Venice you can't be in a better position than this hotel and the staff will take fantastic care of you :)
I have visited Santa Chiara in October 2016. We choose to stay at Residence Parisi, which is only 100 metres away from the main building, but is very comfortable, clean, especialy for families. We didn't have breakfast, but there is small super market in the entrance of the building and you can find everything. The reception was very helpful and kind. Very close to public transportation (bus, train or vaporeto). Wherever you choose to stay (main building or Residenza Parisi) just go for it.
What a super hotel. Close to the Cruise Port, ideal for people coming of cruises. One stop on people mover and just cross the square. Very helpful Alexandro who very happily stored our luggage till our room was ready. We were able to check in at 2pm and we had a wonderful room in the new building with views up and over the Grand Canal. Fabulous bathroom with bath, separate large shower, bidet & loo. Electric blinds & curtains. Good breakfast with everything one could want. The old part of the hotel is undergoing a total refurbishment to the standard of the new part, this should be finished early next year 2018. 20 mins to airport via taxi, water taxi can be taken but quite expensive. Water bus to St Marks & Rialto just next to hotel. Very easy to find. Thank you for a lovely visit to your hotel.
The hotel is in a great location right on the Piazzale Roma bus interchange. We were able to catch the bus from Marco Polo airport and just walk to our hotel without having to carry our luggage over the many bridges. We only stayed one night, our loss, but had a lovely room with ensuite. It was quiet even though we were in such a busy place. Delicious breakfast was included in the room rate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We were also able to catch the water bus outside the hotel which took us as far as St Mark's square for a quick sightseeing trip. When we checked out the next day we walked across the other side of the bus interchange to the People Mover which took us to the cruise terminal. All very easy. Highly recommend the hotel and will be staying there again next time in Venice.
We would give this place twelve stars if possible. Beautiful hotel, clean rooms, wonderful & helpful staff. Great location to the water bus and cruise terminal. Do not miss this place if you have a chance. Will definitely stay here again when we return. Thank you so much!!!!
We were at Santa Chiara before and after our cruise. We stayed in the new building. The room are very nice. Big and new. Restroom looked modern. The curtain is electronic control - very good! Position is great. So easy to get bus to airport and water bus for sightseeing. I will for sure book this hotel next time in Venice.
we originally booked a room in the historic part of the building, but it is currently under refurbishment. our room was in the "new section" and had a brilliant view of the grand canal. from check in to check out we were very pleased with everything. we requested and were given a portable fan (we like moving air and are used to ceiling fans). we were literally steps from the train station (took a day trip to padova) and the vaporetto stations (i suggest a multi-day ticket if you are staying more than a day). when it was time to leave for our cruise, we only had to walk across the piazza over to the parking garage to catch the people mover to the port. could not have been easier. thank you, lorenzo for all the arrangements before we arrived and also during our visit. you are a gem as is the rest of the staff. if we return to venice one day, we will definitely stay with you.
Picked it because it was close to the train station and the port. I walked from the cruise ship left bags and took a train for the day to Vicenza. Came back spent the night, then grabbed the ATVO bus in the morning outside the front door on Piazale Roma and headed to the airport. The location is perfect for such access... Right at the foot of the Constitution bridge. I booked the older section but they have closed it for remodeling so I got a room in the ultra modern new side. It's amazing. Everything is electronic, including automatic window shades on the huge room windows looking straight down the Grand Canal. The shades closed automatically when you pulled the card to leave the room. Even had a "disco" bezel on the full wall mirror on the shower that you could program in any color you like and get it to pulsate. I suppose it's intended for baths in the huge tub but was pretty funky... Never saw THAT before. Breakfast table downstairs had the same beautiful view. While I prefer the Violino d'Oro near St. Mark's when I am seeing the sights, because it is closer to the center of town, Chiara can't be beat for access to everything!!
