We arrived in Venice, Italy today and literally welcomed with open arms at our hotel, Ca’ Segredo. At the water taxi dock we were personally welcomed by the hotel manager Ms. Lain who literally offered her hand to grab ours as we were escorted from our water taxi to the lobby. Micele (spelling?) took over from there and escorted us to our most fabulous room off the roof with a terraced patio with a panoramic view of the city and Grand Canal. Almost immediately thereafter, Ms. Lain personally brought us a large cured meat, cheese and bread tray. Micele (spelling) gave us very helpful first evening ideas. In the short few hours we’ve been at Ca’Segredo it’s been heavenly. We can’t wait to see what’s next. Bravo to Ms. Lain, Micele (spelling) and to the Ca’ Segredo staff.

We recently celebrated my husband's birthday in Venice, & chose this hotel for our family of 9. The beauty, elegance & service here are amazing, & spotlessly clean. The location is the best...right on the Grand Canal. This is our third time in this hotel, & it never disappoints. They are extremely prompt in answering your e mails, both pre & post trip. We had breakfast, & again, the staff made sure you were happy with your choices. The only hotel we ever stay when in Venice..Thank you to all the staff!

What a fantastic staircase! The whole of the hotel is elegant and the breakfast is superb. Right on the Grand Canal. We LOVED it! We would recommend this hotel. Sparkling wine is served with breakfast and we sat and listened to Andrea Bochelli . The music room is gorgeous

The hotel staff was excellent and arranged a private tour to Murano for a factory tour . The hotel was clean and located in a great area . The only small issue was water spots on the ceiling which indicates leaky roofs . Unfortunately it rained the first night and the ceiling was dripping water all night onto the floor next to the bed . I did not complain but felt the hotel should have come forward and acknowledged the issue since the maid service cleaned up the towels the next day . I did mention it when we checked out . All and all I would still recommend but check the ceiling .

I have headed this review with a comment on the toaster because it was about all we could find to fault in this lovely hotel. Put your bread in the toaster, walk away and have a cup of tea and maybe the bread will by then have warmed up. Everything else; staff, cleanliness, comfort, location are first class. Set in a former palace, the decor reflects just what it was. Beautiful frescoes on the walls and ceilings, a gorgeous marble staircase from the foyer and spacious rooms. We had a room with a side-on view of the Grand Canal and the views across to the Rialto and along the canal were amazing. The vaparetto stop is a couple of minutes walk away and gondolas are available right outside the front door. The gondola ferry to cross the Grand Canal is very conveniently placed for access to the opposite side of the city. We had a suite and it was not cheap; but this is Venice and you do get what you pay for. A lovely hotel in a beautiful place. We would certainly go again.

Ca' Sagredo is so lovely that one does not feel like you need to leave the hotel to enjoy the city. But luckily the location is so good that you can leave, enjoy Venice, and return to enjoy your stay at the hotel. The staff is very accommodating. Highly recommend!

I booked this hotel after seeing all of the positive reviews on trip advisor and the likes. However, we had an unpleasant stay that put a bad taste in our mouth when we left. Cons include: -We were told that we were given a nice room upon checkin- but it was the exact room that I originally booked. We understand that they were wanting to make us feel special but it was a missed opportunity. -We recognize that its near water, but the room/hotel were very stuffy and smelled musty. -Staff overall were unfriendly and it seemed like we were bothering them by being there. Everytime we had a question about restaurants/what to do in Venice, it seemed like a burden. - We wanted to enjoy a nice bottle of wine on the upstairs terrace (that no one told us about) on our last evening. We were told that we couldn't do that. We said 'ok' and asked if we could have a wine bottle opener brought to our room and we would enjoy it there. The front desk said 'fine, but we need to open the bottle for you' was very odd. - Upon checking the final bill, we saw a 5 euro charge that was unexpected. We inquired about it and we were told 'oh, this is the donation fee for the artwork'. We said 'alright', even though we thought that it would have been better if we were asked first if that was okay. Then, the concierge mentioned that we should take a a glass souvenir on our way out, as part of the donation. Good thing we asked!!! - We overheard concierge telling another guest that there was a free boat trip to Murano that the hotel provided. This was never mentioned to us and unfortunately, we only found out on our last day with hours to spare in Venice. It would have been great to partake in that. Pros: - We needed safety pins for a dress and they were nice enough to bring a few up to our room, free of charge.

If you’ve ever wanted to experience living like an aristocratic upper-class nobleman, then this is the hotel to book! This 15th century palace has been restored to look and feel like a Venetian nobleman’s house. You’ll feel as if you’ve traveled back in time when you enter your junior suite. Each air-conditioned suite boasts granite-looking door frames, paneled walls, gilt-framed mirrors, ornately painted ceilings, and full marble bathrooms, plus the best modern amenities available. Our junior suite had a sitting room, dressing room, large bedroom (super comfortable king size bed with soft luxurious sheets) and a huge bathroom with a separate tub, shower and double sinks. Combine this with the impeccable service, the romantic frescoed breakfast rooms, the rooftop bar with its Murano glass flowerbeds, and the waterfront seating alongside the Grand Canal for lunch and dinner, and you will understand why our stay here was one of the highlights of our entire trip. Venice is a city of canals, and there is a convenient water ferry stop less than a three-minute walk away, and water taxis pull up to the hotels private dock. The concierge spoke fluent English and was very helpful, recommending a great restaurant a few blocks away, a lunch place for local pizza, and arranging a free water taxi to Murano for us to see glass blowing and get a tour of a top (and quite expensive) glass factory. This small, 42-room gem is a five-star hotel and deserves every accolade.

We really loved this place!! We booked it before Travel & Leisure named it the #2 hotel in Venice, but we were so excited to get there!! It looked beautiful from the reviews and website— it’s even better in person. Situated right on the Grand Canal with its own dock which makes getting there from the airport a breeze! It you don’t want to splurge for a private airport water taxi, take a shared. Chances are you’ll be the 1st stop. The interior is elegant. Old World with modern bathrooms. Beautiful roof top terrace. Close to everything!! Book this place!!

If you want to feel like royalty then stay here! We were upgraded for our 25th Anniversary to room 102 overlooking the Grand Canal. Such a beautiful room. Opulent decor, 2 marble bathrooms with lots of toiletries. The hotel is a museum so you can see wonderful artwork on the walls and ceilings and period furniture and ornaments decorate the rooms. Welcoming and friendly staff throughout and the buffet breakfast was also served in a beautiful room. There are rooftop and canal side dining options too. I can not state how lovely this hotel is. Just wish I could stay even longer.
