Venice, our favourite city is the epitome of wonderful faded elegance and this hotel is a perfect fit. It is clean comfortable with wonderful friendly, helpful staff and you know you are in Venice, not some anonymous room in a chain hotel. Our room was big and airy with a wonderful view overlooking a canal. We were given a super recommendation for a dinner venue. We will be back.
Great location for rail, bus station and Vaporetto. Historic building overlooking a quiet canal. Room clean and comfortable, breakfast fine and staff very friendly and helpful. As others mentioned wi fi hit and miss but who needs internet access when there is so much to do. plenty of eating places close by. The ones reccomended by hotel good but very pricey. Nb Sopperta can be booked on trip adviser with 20% discount
Typical Italian Hotel, lovely building but ageing interior. Handy for the bus depot but a long walk to the main attractions. I would have said you get what you pay for except for the banging pipes which started at 3.45am and kept the whole floor awake. It has been mentioned before in reviews but clearly not fixed. On that basis I would advise people to avoid.
This hotel is situated in a quiet pleasant area, but not far from the bus and railway stations. It has a quiet historic feel with columns and low ceilings. The decor also reflects the over affect. The room was small, but adequate. The staff are friendly and helpful.
We stayed here for 4 nights, it was amazing perfect location nice and quiet and a short walk away if we wanted anything busier. We had a gorgeous view the hotel is very pretty just what we expected in Venice, beautiful.
My wife and I stayed here before our cruise. The hotel is old and somewhat dated but that was part of its charm. We enjoy staying at hotels that reflect the character of the city and this hotel did just that. The breakfast was wonderful. There was plenty to eat and many choices. The staff were wonderful. They were extremely helpful and eager to please. We especially loved Luca who made reservations for dinner for us every night. We trusted his choices and were never disappointed. The hotel is convenient to the Pizzale Roma. We took the airport bus to the Pizzale Roma and walked to the hotel which was a less than 10 minute walk. It was also convenient to the cruise port. If we go back to Venice we will definitely stay again.
This hotel was located pretty close to the train station. We found it hard to find at first. It is quite a large hotel but is very dated. The reviews we read were pretty accurate and so we were prepared for some of the issues such as the WiFi not working or very spotty. The light bulbs that never stopped flickering in our room. The windows had no screens so you could not leave them open because of the mosquitos. Since we came to Venice to enjoy Venice thankfully hotel did not really matter
We loved our room/ suite . I booked early and we got the best room (105) in the hotel! Even had a wee balcony. This hotel was a palace and has been in the same family for 600 years!!!! Easy walking distance to Piazza da Roma ( you might want help if you have lots of suitcases due to the 2 bridges ) Not far from the train station as well. The included breakfast was ok but the same every day. Being there for 5 nights was a bit boring. Good coffee maker. There is a lovely garden available to all guests. Wifi was flaky but they did upgrade it on our last day so it may be ok now. Basically location location location!
We spent a total of three nights in the hotel, two before and one after our cruise which left from Venice. The location of the hotel is excellent for the central bus station and the people carrier that takes you directly to the port. The hotel is as you would imagine an old grand hotel to be but I felt it was slightly tired and of need of some sprucing up. I do not want it to lose its traditional feel but just to sort the cracks and the falling curtains etc.
We stayed for four nights. The hotel is located just a short distance from the train station which minimized how many bridges we had to drag our bags up and over. Also made it easy to get back to the terminal to get to the airport to catch an early morning flight back home. I really liked the exterior look to the building. Our check-in was quick and efficient and the staff were very helpful with suggestions for dining and things to see. We had a room, the front of which overlooked a lovely looking courtyard. It was more than adequate for our needs with plenty of space to move around in. Curtains for the bathroom windows (which faced the rear of the building) would have been nice since it backed up to a series of utility buildings and apartments (not the most scenic view) but we solved that problem by hanging up a couple of towels. The breakfast buffet was fine although it lacked scrambled eggs. There are a lot of good places to eat nearby with the bar next door a good spot for a cold beer and excellent pizza. There is also a very nice wine bar just down the street. This property is located at the west end of Venice so we ended up doing a lot of walking which is our preferred way to explore new places. We would have no problem staying here again should we return for another visit to Venice.
