We recently returned from our fourth stay at this charming and delightful hotel. It just keeps getting better! The hotel is a quintessential Venetian palazzo and is kept up to date beautifully. It is expertly run and managed and has a fabulous location in Dorsoduro on the Grand Canal.
By far our favorite hotel in Italy!!! We were in the jr suite with balcony directly on the Grand Canal and it was awesome! Service was impeccable! Accomodations were gorgeous! Breakfast every morning on patio with sweeping views of the Grand Canal was extra special. If you plan on staying in Venice, please do yourself a favor and stay in this fabulous boutique hotel on the Grand Canal! And arrive via water taxi at their private dock!!!
We stayed at this hotel for three nights, the location is excellent, just far enough away from the crowds and near to restaurants and bars and within easy walking distance to the main Venice areas. The river bus has a stop right next to the hotel. We were upgraded to a suite on the top floor which was lovely. Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal is something special. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Venice. 🙂
Could not have chosen a better place to explore Venice: - Good location (central, but not in the middle of the inevitable crowds, overlooking Canale Grande), - Good size room (ok, we had a suite), - inside a beautifully refurbished palazzo, - breakfast and drinks on a terrace on Canale Grande (decent breakfast buffet), - helpful and efficient staff. When booking a suite, try to get room 405, the only one with a balcony overlooking Canale Grande
We had a really lovely 3 night stay here in July. We had the "arrive in Style" package from the train station to the hotel and felt like movie stars. We had a beautiful suite overlooking the Grand Canal , which was extremely comfortable. All the staff in this small hotel were very friendly and did everything to ensure our stay was outstanding. Each morning we enjoyed a lovely breakfast on the terrace and watched the daily life of Venice go by. You can wander around the back streets of Venice easily from the hotel, which i encourage you to do, and there are some lovely restaurants nearby. The hotel also provides a free boat transfer to Murano which we did and thoroughly enjoyed, and hopped over to Burano after. I highly recommend you stay here.
We decided to spend a few days in Venice prior to our cruise and this hotel worked out perfectly. They will help with arrangements from the airport and to the cruise ship. Its worth the money not to have to haul your luggage all over the place. Hotel is expensive-up to 450 euros/night but if you can swing it go for the canal view. Rate includes a very adequate if not gourmet breakfast on the veranda. Staff very helpful with recommendations for local restaurants-all within easy walk. Location next to water taxi stop. If you plan on hitting all the museums and have limitations in walking get the Venice pass which gets you unlimited water taxi rides and entrance to most museums. Our room had a tub/shower-if you have any physical limitations ask for a room with a walkin shower if available. There is an elevator. Hot tub on roof terrace but they charge 70 euros to access it-certainly not worth that. Also they have a sister hotel with a rooftop restaurant-great view but food and expense to get there not worth it. Plenty of good food near the hotel. Overall we had a wonderful time in this amazing city.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Palazzo Stern from July 15 - 17. The hotel staff gave us an automatic upgrade to a deluxe room, and it was fabulous! The hotel has been beautifully redecorated with extensive artwork that does not come through very well in the photos. This hotel is a real gem!! The views from the patio are phenomenal. The staff was great, the food was excellent, and the location was fantastic - right next to a water taxi stop. We will definitely return again then next time we visit Venice.
Perfect Location with terrace overlooking the Canale Grande! Very friendly staff - especially at the Front Office. Beautiful terrace where daily breakfast is served - good selection of breakfast buffet. Nice bar. Rooms overlooking the Canale Grande are just beautiful - make sure to book one of them! Water Bus Station just next to the Hotel. So you have easy access to all places of interest in Venice. Hotel is located in a very nice area of Venice ( Dorsoduro) where you find many nice restaurants and bars. Will always come back to this hotel.
We've visited this hotel three times now and each time it's been simply fantastic. It means a lot to us as we got engaged on the balcony at the hotel on our first wonderful stay but each subsequent stay has been just as good. ( although involved fewer diamonds) The staff are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are spacious and the air conditioning is not noisy , beds very comfortable and the hot tub on the roof makes for a fabulous treat ! Breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal .. it just doesn't get much better than this !
Our first time in Venice, and we were in luck choosing the Palazzo Stern. Location, quality and service are all excellent - we had room 405 with a balcony over looking the Canal. In Venice an understanding of the transport options is crucial - and the Hotels front desk were great in setting out and explaining the options. It was mainly the One Waterbus for us, with its hop on hop off that suited. A couple of days at the sights in the City, a trip to the Lido, and the Murano glass factory ( no hard sell included ) all added up to a lovey break. Breakfast on the Terrace by the Grand Canal was a real treat. Meals were good - not expensive - and the return to the Stern always welcoming. The taxi back to the Airport was a really great way to end the trip.
