I have stayed here before (2 years prior) and it was much better. One of the things I like is the patio and the fact that they have live music there quite often. However, this time, the band on Saturday night was not great. The wifi speed and reliability wsa really poor, and it took many attempts to connect the first time. Also, I had the back wheel stolen from my bike, which was chained to the bike rack right next to a main entrance to the hotel. When I informed the hotel front desk, I asked if they had security camera's and could they check them. I was informed they did not have any security camera's near that entrance, which was frustrating. I also asked for a follow up from a manager to find out what if anything their corporate insurance could do for me. I followed up twice and nobody ever even called me. So it felt like hotel management did not really care that I had a major theft happen to me at their hotel. The new wheel is going to cost me over $160 to replace. It seems like it would have been easy for hotel management to at least discuss options with me.

Went out to dinner on the outdoor patio at the Holiday Inn and loved it! Our waitress was Madi and she was extremely nice, helped us with the menu, and overall did a great job! I was with friends and we all really liked our meals and will be back soon!

We were 2 families travelling together and we have booked this hotel 8 months in advance due to the peak travel time we would be there. The location of the resort was perfect for walking into town. The staff at the hotel were excellent and quick to address any issues. Even before we arrived the staff were great. We had called a few times to confirm a few things and the response was always cheerful and helpful. We arrived early in the day and our rooms were not ready but they set us up with a parking pass so we could enjoy the days activities. There were a few issues. Our biggest concern was the poor WiFi service. As an out of country guest, my access to home is directly tied my access to WiFi. One of the primary reasons for selecting this property was the included WiFi. After several attempts to have the issues resolved, I had to ask for a manager, who was not available until the next morning. One staff member suggested i come down to the lobby to get better WiFi. Another concern we had was the timely cleaning of rooms. This is a beachfront resort and we spent our days on the beach. At 5:00pm on our first day we returned to our room to get ready for supper and they had not yet been cleaned. Because of our reservation time, we had to forgo pre-supper showers and head out. It wasn't pleasant. The service staff were excellent when they were available. It may have been a result of a very busy weekend, but it was difficult to get service without going to the bar. I can not say enough positive about the attitudes of the team at this resort.Not once were we greeted with anything other than absolute friendliness and willingness to help. The management team did correct the WiFi and address our other issues eventually but it took more than half of our stay to resolve. To be clear, we left the resort very happy and would gladly return. Overall a positive stay.

Let me get the BEST part of our trip out there first.... Maegan, a server in the resort's breakfast restaurant. Maegan was stellar and went out of her way to listen and make breakfast two of the days we ate at the resort a wonderful experience!! After meeting us the first time, Maegan remembered everything we ordered (including special requests due to allergies) and streamlined the entire ordering process the next time we saw her. Wish we could have seen her daily during our stay! **Hotel Mgmt: It's rare to find staff with both personality and attention to detail... Maegan's next review should include a promotion!** Unfortunately, overall, the resort staff was inconsistently trained. Some servers and bartenders good, others sketchy and rude. Front desk staff pleasant. Housekeeping very inconsistent as to the time they would show up and the job they would do. Rooms could have been much cleaner (sticky fronts of tv cabinet due to previously spilled food/drinks etc), bed sheets not changed daily. ------- As for the rest of the hotel features and amenities... they were "good" to "just ok". ROOM The kids suite is one thing that sounds better in the write up than it actually was for our stay. Kids loved their bunk bed nook - but I was claustrophobic in the jammed quarters. (We had 2 adults and 2 kids in the room and we tried to spend as little time as possible there.) Beds were great but room layout - especially world's tiniest bathroom were a hassle. Anyone considering this room should make sure to get a look at it first before booking. --------- GENERAL Beach was small but worked for us. Nightly entertainment ended at 930pm. So, just as we returned from dinner in time to settle in and unwind with a cocktail and some adult time.... there was nothing going on during weekdays. During the summer, mgmt should highly consider changing entertainment hours to 9-1130pm like most city bars. Parents would greatly appreciate some "adult time" at the resort when traveling with kids. --------- Overall decent place but we're still left to prioritize location, attentive staff, amenities, price point, or things to do in the area for our next summer vacation.... we haven't been able to find one place that has it "all".

The hotel is dirty and the customer service at both the front desk and the food /beverage outlets leave alot to be desired. At check out you are required to pay and extra fee for the use of a credit card, no exceptions all credit cards. This is not mentioned at the time of reservations or at check-in. There is also charge for local calls and on your bill it is listed as long distance charges. When discussed with the front desk at checkout I was told "I guess we're charging for local calls now". As to the charge for the use of a credit card the front desk clerk said "all Holiday Inns charge for the use of a credit card". That was a lie as we have stayed in several Holiday Inns in the last few months. This particular hotel is listed as a "RESORT" it's only similarity to a "RESORT" Hotel is it is on the water. The faciltiy is old, tired and most of the employees do not like working there.

Remodeled and comfortable. It has been many years since we stayed at this hotel. The new look is pleasing and feels like home. Front desk staff and housekeeping was very accommodating and kind. The breakfast room which is also a bar in the afternoon/evening served delicious food, plentiful and good quality. Only complaint is the view, not much of one from our rooms even though we were told it had a bay view, well it did if you strained your neck.

Great service from Meagan at the Bistro. Kids got the buffet for free today. Samantha at front desk was also very friendly and was able to answer all of our questions. The beds were new and the room was clean.

Stayed 1 night at this resort. Would love to return for a longer stay. It's located right on the bay, had music playing outside, lots of outside seating, they also have a courtesy shuttle that took us to a resteraunt, and would have returned to pick us up, but we chose to walk back. It's close to lots of shops which we walked to the next day. The room was very nice, and had very comfortable beds. Staff was very nice and also helpful with local information and recommendations!

Visited the area and spent only one night there on the patio. The outdoor patio was the place to be! The hotel had a live "Blues Band called Sweetwater Blues Band". They put on a great show and the place was packed! The food was good, took a long time for it to be delivered. I can only say about one staff member who I had dealings with. He was our waiter. Matt Weatherholt, not sure about the last name. He was wonderful. He took the time to make us feel like one of the family. Never had to look for him if we wanted something, he was always coming around to make sure things were fine, which they were all night long. Hope to come back see that Blues Band again. So if you are looking for great music, food, drinks and a fantastic sunset, this is the place to go!

We stayed at WBB during cherry fest. The location of the hotel is on the west bay of Grand Traverse Bay and is within walking distance of downtown TC. If you choose to walk into downtown use the walking trail on the west side of the property which takes you under the roadway and along the Boardman river, then back up to street level into the east end of downtown. You can play "Frogger" across what can be heavy traffic to get to downtown but I highly suggest the walkway. We found the exterior of the hotel to be a little 70's-ish however the inside was nice. Our room was nicely updated and had no issues with the bathroom or the cleanliness. We did however had a Wi-Fi issue, that being there was none. After calling the front desk we were told there was an unexpected problem with the Wi-Fi and were promptly given the password for the employee Wi-Fi. This however also didn't work as, from what we were told, most of the guests were now using this service. After speaking with management we found him to be very accommodating. He explained exactly what had happened and was apologetic. The situation was clearly not the hotel's fault and he made the problem right with us. He was a rock star and a great representative of the hotel and the idea that the customer comes first. There is a boat rental location on site, I believe its called Sail and Boat, or something to that effect, which is located in the west end parking area. We rented Kayak's to row up the Boardman which was really nice. Their prices were $20 for a single seat kayak and $30 for a double for one hour, more than enough time to get up the Boardman and back. The patio at the back of the hotel was nice and clean. The table service was average while service directly at the bar was above average. Views of the airshow during Cherry Fest were great. The best views would be the beach to the west of the hotel however the beach doesn't offer food and beverages. If you can find a table at the Holiday Inn I would suggest going there. The views of the fireworks are mostly unobstructed with again, the best views on the beach/park to the west of the resort. Again, if you can find a place to sit, the food and drink service might make this a better place to be. One suggestion I would ask the hotel to do is to inform the guests checking-in of the pedestrian walk to downtown. It's a VERY convenient and MUCH safer way to get to downtown and easy to access from the hotel. We discovered it by accident only after running between vehicles in the roadway to get to downtown as there is no crosswalk here. It would have been nice to know when we checked in. I gave this review 4 out of 5 based on the location, views, semi-private beach (though pretty small), and the service we received from management after bringing the Wi-Fi issue to their attention. Overall, we likely will stay here again.
