great location for both biz and nightlife. hotel staff great, recommended excellent run, great free breakfast

I have stayed at Le Germaine twice. It is a very nice boutique hotel. The rooms are very well appointed, not large but not small, nice size. The lobby is very tranquil and pleasant and the staff is great. They have a breakfast that is really fresh and delicious. It is not on the main streets of Toronto which makes getting a taxi difficult but it is in the center of town so that is not a huge issue.

I have stayed at many boutique hotels in my travels and I must say this was an amazing stay.

visited toronto for a blue jays / yankees series. The stadium is a short walk from the hotel, which was an important factor for us. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I considered the room unique with the glass shower wall overlooking the room. Room was clean. I'd stay there again for sure.

We loved our stayed! Staff was wonderful. Very friendly. Room was very comfortable and clean.

This hotel had wonderful amenities, some you would expect at a far more expensive hotel (i.e. turn down service). It location was perfect, a short walk to the waterfront, convention center and the entertainment district. It was the best stay I have had in Toronto.

Hotel is extraordinary. Highly recommend staying here. Centrally located in king street west area, and staff tremendously attentive.

GREAT LOCATION/LOVE THE CITY1 BEST CINCIERGE EVER!!

all things went very smoothly here, everyone was helpful and friendly. The room was very nice and modern and the bed was extremely comfortable

Stayed for five nights in August 2014. Overall I enjoyed the experience at this hotel. There's a lot to like, but a few things that kept it short of a 5-star rating. First of all, the staff at this hotel is absolutely amazing. Everyone was super-friendly and helpful, from the clerks at the counter to the concierge to the door-staff. I was never made to feel like any request I made or question I asked was a bother to anybody. The concierge in particular was wonderful - very knowledgeable about the area and willing to offer dining and shopping suggestions, and also just have a friendly chat. The room itself was clean and nicely but simply decorated, and more spacious than I would have expected for a standard room. The bed was acceptable but not remarkable. The shower was large and very luxurious, however there was no tub. Also, there was no door to the shower and no curtain - it was walled on three sides with a glass partition on the fourth and an open entry that let a lot of water splash out onto the tile floor. My only serious complaint with the room was the window-dressing. There were no curtains - only some thick-slatted Venetian blinds. They worked well enough for privacy, but did not do a very good job of keeping light and sound out of the room. Which brings me to the next point: the location. This was a very mixed bag. The location within the city is actually really good - it's just a few blocks from the CN Tower, and a short walking distance from several of the main downtown streets. It's also within walking distance of a subway station and there are several trolley stops right nearby. It's in the heart of the Entertainment District, so most of the local theaters are right there. The neighborhood is a bit worn around the edges but very much alive and it never left me feeling unsafe. All good things. However, there were some very noisy neighbors. A lot of street construction was going on during the day (and starting early in the morning) and also some clubs/bars/restaurants that were noisy into the night with music and loud voices that carried all the way up to my 10th floor room. All this without any heavy curtains to muffle the sound. The hotel does provide some complimentary earplugs, but I never find it comfortable to sleep in those things, and they can make me miss my alarm. The local construction should eventually finish up, but the nighttime noise from the neighbors is likely to persist. The wi-fi signal in my room was nice and strong, and I was able to stream videos easily without lag or disconnections. However, the menu system on the TV was incredibly slow and unresponsive. There was a free water filter system outside the elevators (I assume this was available on every floor) and a carafe in the room that you can fill up with the filtered water. I made use of it a few times and the water tasted clean and fresh. The continental breakfast on the mezzanine level was simple but exceptionally good. I didn't try the restaurant, but it seemed to get a lot of patrons. As is, I'd rate the hotel a 4, and would gladly again. If they could take some steps toward insulating the rooms a little better from outside noise and light, then I would easily rate it a 5.

Fabulous hotel! Perfect location! Just a little bit on the expensive side!

Truly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was in a great location, many great restaurants and attractions were within walking distance. The hotel was very quiet, rooms were nicely furnished and a very large bathroom in the king suite. The concierge, Nancy, was wonderful. She provided us with so much information about things to do in the city and also her own personal recommendations. My husband and I were truly impressed and we've visited many places both in the US and abroad and she was by far the best concierge. Only downside was the daily buffet breakfast that was included in the hotel price. There should be more breakfast options besides bagels, pastries, fruit, oatmeal and granola. An omelette station would be great.

The hotel, great, the rooms great, the restaurant/bar staff were great, the hotel staff seemed a bit out of place. Valet took forever IF they even got the message to pull up the car and they were never outside. The local recommendations from the concierge were so off it was almost funny. They need to upgrade the staff if they want us to come back again.

Wife and I decided to drive to Toronto for our anniversary during Labor Day weekend. It was our first time to Canada and we had high hopes for this "4 Star" hotel. Positives: Within walking distance to CN Tower. Room was decent and clean. Negatives: The hotel was difficult to locate hiding behind a highrise construction site in a small narrow one way street. The valet driver was not welcoming and did not help with unloading the luggage. Tipped the front desk when checking in and mentioned about our anniversary celebration, he tried to up-sale us to a larger room for an additional $100/night which we declined. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was a bit noisy at times from the streets. When checking out, we were hit with a bill of $120 for parking, which the same front desk clerk had failed to mention at check in. When asked he said it is the same price if we had park else where in this area. We had a good time visiting the city of Toronto, but it is safe to say that we won't be returning to this hotel next time.

Le Germain is like a luxe home away from home. Very stylish room, cozy feel, great bed and friendly staff. First time staying there and will definitely return.

Attentive staff, great location, spacious room...all around a positive stay. Now my preferred choice when staying in Toronto.

Great Hotel, Friendly and helpful staff and excellent location

Hotel was in a prime location. One of the best features was the current promotion via online website that gave us free Valet parking. We ended up saving about 450$ just on parking for the time we stayed there because of the promotion. We were sad to hear that breakfast was not included. As it use to be back in the day. And we were paying a fairly pricey rate for the room.

The staff was helpful before we even arrived. The one negative comment I had read before booking the room was that because of it's location some rooms could be noisy so I requested a quiet room. Even though we arrived early, we were given a room in the quietest spot imaginable-high up and towards the rear of the building. We didn't hear any noise from outside of the hotel or inside for that matter. With carpeted halls, wide hallways and plenty of space between rooms, I wasn't surprised. The concierge, Crystal, was not only helpful she was truly thoughtful and caring. She went above and beyond in making our stay memorable. The location cannot be beat. Within walking distance of downtown, Kensington Market, Chinatown, plenty of great restaurants, theaters and places to enjoy a drink after wards, yet not on a busy, bustling, noisy street. The espresso bar in the lobby with self serve hot drinks was a great little perk. A few mocha latte's put a spring in our steps on the walk to the theater and enjoying the rainfall shower helped us wind down before sleeping in the luxurious king bed

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location. Excellent restaurants are within walking distance. The 2nd City Comedy club is across the street. Room was beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpful. Two things that were unpleasantly surprising: Because we booked through Orbitz, the complimentary breakfast was not included. Also, it was a bit of a surprise to find that parking was $ 35.00 per night. With that being said, I would recommend this upscale hotel in downtown Toronto.
