Grand Hyatt Tokyo5.0 out of 5.0

5 stars on everything - location, service, amenities. The swimming pool is not opened for families with children below 5 years old. Easy access to the shopping mall. For kids, they provide slippers, kids toothbrush and Japanese wear. For adults, they provide mouthwash and other basic amenities.
True to form, the Grand Hyatt is the model of a five star luxury property in Tokyo. The service is top notch, the dining options world class and the location ideal for business or tourism. Really a beautiful place. Would recommend splurging and stepping up to a Diplomatic Suite that includes lounge access. Great for a family and excellent views from the higher floors (19-21). Great go to in Tokyo!
This hotel is clean and beautiful. It is centrally located. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The hotel also offers a shuttle to both airports. My family and I stayed here after a cruise and it turned out to be a fabulous Choice.
Have stayed here for 10+ years and the quality of this hotel has maintained its standards. Excellent hotel and service. Location is perfect and can get to Nihonbashi via metro in 20 minutes. Also, Roppongi shopping center is attached and they have a great selection of restaurants.
This hotel is in a prime location! Rooms are large and bathroom is luxurious. Many excellent restaurants (both Japanese and Western style) and attractions are anchored to this property. The subway, taxi, and airport shuttle are extremely accessible which makes your travel plans very easy in the busy city. Finally, the service experienced at this hotel was simply amazing. The care, attention to detail, and attentiveness are unmatched. Thank you Hyatt Staff for a wonderful stay!
I have stayed at this hotel over 100 times in addition to other hotels in Tokyo. Here's the quick summary of Grand Hyatt Tokyo: The great things are: - staff worked so efficiently and friendly - the room is always kept nicely and spotless - room service is delicious and relatively quick compared to the restaurant which is busy (depending on time), they tried to take care of some small personal request, too - location is heart of Tokyo, very convince to for those who use Taxi often. For subway users, Hibiya-line isn't so bad but O-edo line is too far / too complicated to walk - if you don't have any heavy luggage, and don't mind weather, enjoy walking; otherwise, better use 500 JPY coin to get to the hotel via taxi (410JPY for the ride) for painless arrival Newly (or compared to old time) improved areas are: - gym is open 24 hours finally! - swimming pool is open for hotel guests, too (it used to be only some members) - bath salt is offered in each room - memory foam pillows are available (mattress would be next step like Park Hyatt Tokyo)! Down-graded changes are: - gym's massage chair became only one (used to be 2) with time limitation - shampoo and conditioner are no longer spa graded (generic and cheap looking containers) Future request / concerns are: - since the hotel has restaurants at 6F and gym is open for members (non hotel guest), easy public access to the hotel elevator may be important ; however, going to room should ONLY be card key access. Currently, anyone can access to any floor except for night time (11PM to 5AM or so). I don't know why Grand Hyatt doesn't raise their security level even higher. Hotel guests' safety is most important and other hotels in Tokyo have this kind of system. - staff used to remember guests and greeted more friendly. I stayed this time over a week, but no one seemed to recognize me. They used to talk to me more personably like welcome back or how's your day? It seemed everyone perfectly followed their manuals but no personal comment, which, I personally would like them to improve for future to be even more friendly.
Pros Convenient location attached to shopping mall and subway station Spacious room Great service Clean and western decor, many woods Comfortable bed Soft duvets and bedsheets Extra Japanese amenities for men and women aside from June Jacob Breathtaking view Nice club lounge with good quality food and great service Staff speaks very good English Cons A bit pricey
We stayed in this hotel in the past and we were very keen to stay here again. We booked club rooms (one double and one triple). Check in took a while as staff told us that there was a problem with our credit card, but fortunately our other card did the trick. Rooms were good as ever. We unfortunately were kept awake by a stupid guest who preferred to make his telephone calls in front of our room instead of in his room. The breakfast buffet is fresh and nice. In the past it was also possible to order some egg dishes (omelette, Benedict), but that is not longer the case. A pity, because nothing beats a freshly made omelette dish. Drinks and snacks were great. Really nice to drink a glass of wine and watch the sun set over Tokyo. Location is good too - in Roppongi Hills, with good access to the Hibiya and Toei Oedo line.
The hotel it's self is very nice. Rooms huge and view great. First let me start with why I deducted points. The location. Yes it was "close" to the subway station but Roppongi hills where it's located was so confusing. Basically when the stores were open you could short cut to the station but after learning all the secret passage way of course! Which they don't tell you about! When I first got there it took me 20 min to find the hotel lugging all my things (you can enter frontside or parking side, from the mall) and of course google maps takes you front side. I was coming from Kyoto on the bullet train so I'm very comfortable already with how all the trains/subways work. Yes you will need to take the subway staying here. Also roppongi is very expat friendly, note this area is where a lot of night clubs are. Second point this was my third hotel while I was staying in Japan and I noticed just how "western" everything was. I had free breakfast in the French kitchen and really the only things they had were bacon, eggs, hash browns insert more western breakfast foods. Which actually did make me sick. I'm on vacation in Japan! I want a Japanese breakfast or give me some variety. Also the amenities I noticed I was expecting the standard amenities I've been getting throughout Japan. Nope no face wash, lotion, cream. I stayed at a "3" star hotel in Ginza and even they gave us sheshido products. The whole 9 yards. But let's be real you're staying at a Hyatt for the points, I did too. I say stay at a hotel closer to Tokyo station. Can hop on any JR or subway line. Overall it's a western hotel that didn't even live up to the Japanese quality of service you get at any normal hotel in Japan.
The room 's decoration is classic, lots of surfaces are covered in wood. I love the Japanese decoration style. Bed is extremely comfortable, I had very good sleep. Why I have to type 200 characters to make a comment!!!
