This hotel is in a district that is mainly business. It is very clean, modern and the restaurant very good. We were on the 12th floor and had a great view of Tokyo Tower. The rooms are not large but I believe this is typical of Tokyo. The staff are friendly and very efficient & helpful. Most speak English.
I have a number of issues with this hotel. Firstly the service is very cold and unwelcoming. The staff who do not speak any english at all treat westerners as though they are not deserving of staying here. For what? The rooms are shocking. They are incredibly tiny, have plastic doonas, carpet squares (falling out), mould in the bathroom, mould on ceilings. The smell of cigarette smoke is shocking. Even if you get a non smoking room, the walls are paper thin and you can smell others who light up cigarettes at 3 in the morning. It will leave you waking up in the morning de-hydrated with secondary cigarette smoking down to your esophagus and tounge. Despite all these problems the worst problem as i mentioned before is simply the lack of service AND coldness of staff in the foyer room. If I received a warm welcome I would have forgiven them but not this time. Improve your service! And because you're featured western travel brochures and recommended for westerners do one VERY important thing - Make your staff learn Basic English 101 and teach them basic customer service 101. Appalling! Bye Bye. Never again. 2/10
This hotel could really use some modernization. Your room key is a large metal skeleton key that's bulky to carry around, and you can't get a spare one for your traveling companion. The rooms have a distinct "old hotel" smell, though you don't notice it after the first 20 minutes or so. Power sockets are limited; I believe our room had 3: one in the bathroom, one at the mini desk, and one along the wall. Room size is average, and furnishings are all very dated. However, these were all trade offs I was willing to accept for a reasonable price and location in Tokyo during cherry blossom season. I wouldn't be upset to stay here again, but it also wouldn't be my first choice. The value is there, but it's a shame that it hasn't gotten the TLC it needs to be great. Location is right near Tokyo Tower and also within walking distance of the train station, so those are important factors to keep in mind.
Good location because it is walking distance to beautiful Tokyo Tower and train stations - Hamamasucho, Daiman & Shibakoen which providing us conveniences to go to any location we want via train or subway. There are restaurants nearby even you will not see any outside the hotel. It is walking distance where are near to Daimon Station. The staff are friendly even not fluent in English. Good location !
The location of the hotel was perfect. The staff - friendly but seemed annoyed to want to help us. There was 6 of us Aussies travelling together in a group and had arrived at 11pm and needed to leave by 5 am. Asking the staff to organise a taxi was like pulling teeth from a child. We ended up having to stand out on the street and hail the taxi. The rooms were okay sized but the bedding was like hard bricks. Might be easier to just book somewhere else.
As a family of 5 we had rooms side by side which were spacious. Good location for Tokyo Tower and transport. Lots of convenience stores nearby. Breakfast at the hotel was extraordinarily over priced for what it was. For a a great mix of Japanese and Western style meals head across the road to Jonathan's which is reasonably priced.
Good service,, friendly personnel. For breakfast it is possible to choose between Japanese and western cuisine. From hotel absolutely nearby metro station. From the airport the direct bus to hotel plies. The only minus is a view from the window, it is visible only roofs of the neighboring houses. But it is clear, in Tokyo as well as in all Japan a problem with space.
myself and my children stayed here and i cannot fault the hotel at all the staff were amazingly helpful and the room was wonderful and more than adequate thankyou very much tokyo grand we would defiantly stay here again
We spent two nights in this hotel, nothing grand about it. Our room was smaller than a ships cabin. The double bed was pushed hard against the wall so you had to climb over each other to get out. Staff had very limited English. Would not stay here again.
The place furniture is really bad quality and distatefull Plastic chairs in a row for a foyer of a hotel The wi-fi in the room doesnt work had to come down to reception The smell of tobacco in the room is nauseating Stay away from it
