Courteous staff. Comfortable lodgings - perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults/2 kids). Walkable to Asakusa area, Tokyo Sky tree and multiple train stations.
A nice modern property with everything you need for a short stay. The hotel is modern, in a quiet area but close to the Metro. The only thing to consider is the rooms are very small with limited head height in sleeping areas (you can’t stand up), aside from that, it’s a great choice!
Place is really good for the price. Staff were amazing check out 15 min late cus my stomach was hurting and they were ok with it. They prove toiletries. Only bad thing its a bit of a walk from subway. Also they have stove and all but no pots and pans. Not a lot of room in living area.
Small but very comfortable and well equipped room, great use of space, very clean, excellent shower and bathroom, had fridge and freezer as well as a hotplate for basic cooking, good location in Ryogoku a few minutes away from the station and 15 minutes walk from Asakusa. Had convenient laundry facility.
This hotel was great, especially considering they had rooms for 4 people. The area was very clean and quiet. We used it as a hub to walk to Sensō-ji and Tokyo Skytree. If you prefer public transit there was a subway station very close. Staff was kind and helpful as well.
The staff and service at Hotel Arcens was exceptional - staff when above and beyond to accommodate our requests and even followed up with us after we checked out. The hotel is in a charming neighborhood within easy walking distance of transit as well as a number of attractions. Travellers who are tall should note that the beds are in lofted spaces with low ceiling heights, and those with mobility issues should note that there are the multiple level changes within the room.
Room was great for our family of four. Easy walk to transit.

Inflexible and unaccomodating
The hotel is quite inflexible and expects us to sign in our guest and restrict to 30min visit. We are a family of 3 and have 1 friend visiting the room. Additionally, they could not accommodate a 15 min extension to check out from 10:00 am to 10:15am. Very disappointing! Lastly, no cleaning unless you stay for more than 5 days! We stayed for 4 days.
Wonderful renovated home/hotel in a quiet residential neighborhood. This is not the place to stay if you want the bright lights of Tokyo right outside your door, but we were looking to stay a quiet residential ryokan/hotel where even the Japanese would want to stay. Plus, when we did want the bright lights, the subway was right around the corner and we’re able to get everywhere quickly with no problem. Lisa at the front desk was a delight and so helpful in helping us navigate our first 48 hours in Japan. The bottom line is this is a 10++++ place if, in addition to the bright lights and historic sights, you want to walk quiet, shop-lined streets to get a better taste of how Japanese people really live. We even walked into a little street fair celebrating the national respect-for-the-aged holiday on our first night and the all Japanese families were encouraging us to jump into the celebrations! This place is a gem.
the rooms were very cute and our group of 6 fit very comfortably! the manager was very nice and polite greeting us and getting us settled. would definitely book again if traveling to Tokyo in a big group.
