Stayed in a suite and it was old and the airconditioning didn’t work. We asked for a change of room which they said wasn’t available. We were offered a stand fan which was broken when they delivered it. Not impressed.

It is true that this hotel is over due for an overhaul. The air conditioning and air extracting fan in the bathroom are both loud and intrusive. The bathroom has seen better days, but it was clean and well provisioned. However, the bed was very comfortable for sleeping. (Note: we had to turn the air con off to get peace and quite). There was room service and only the bar menu the night we stayed. Adequate but not memorable. The happy hour red wine was the worst we ever tasted. Lucky for Rydges, it's only their friendly staff that would make me consider staying at North Sydney again.

Stayed here on a Sunday night and it was very cheap $129 with breakfast included. Rooms are a standard size and are kept clean and tidy. No noise to speak of. All in all I would recommend staying here.

I am currently stayinh at 12th floor room 1214. The AC dosent work in this hotel. They changed me fron 6th floor to 7th fllor but still same issue. Hotel is very old and shouls be demolished. I am currently staying here as i have payed for 8 days. No one listens to your conplaints. After mulitple request I am been provided with fan as AC is not working.

I stayed two nights Friday and Saturday night very recently. I came from the country for the opera and a play. I saw that the Hotel has a restaurant and a reasonable menu and decided to forgo any one of hundred of great restaurants in the area and to have a much anticipated dinner with my two sons, at the hotel. I had asked when confirming my booking on Thursday if I would need to be make a booking in the restaurant and was told no. When I came down for dinner to meet my sons, after check in, I was told the restaurant wasn't open on Friday and Saturday nights and that we would have to eat from the bar menu. No it doesn't end there, there were a handful of lounge coffee table options, a few normal tables and a few high tables all occupied.......nowhere to sit whilst at the same time the restaurant full of tables was roped off and not for use other than breakfast. Eventually after I became a nuisance and wouldn't accept the situation the staff pulled a few tables out and set them up for those of us forced to eat the bar menu who didn't want to take our meals and guest to our rooms. Just to add, the food was very very average. Thankfully the staff were really trying to do their best but told us that this happens every January OMG!!!!!!!!

Great location in North Sydney, within easy walking distance of North Sydney oval and North’s leagues club down Miller St at Cammeray. Have stayed here before and always appreciate the professionalism of the staff.

Very disappointing experience again with this Rydges. The visitor started off well - we checked in and were give an upgrade to the suites (we are a priority rewards club member with Rydges). Once we arrived at the room the visit went down hill. There were crumbs and left over biscuits and cake on the floor, the bed looked like it had only been half made and there was water all over the bathroom floor. When we left the hotel to go to a wedding I stated the above to the staff at the counter and showed them photos.. the reply that I received was “how do we know that wasn’t you”. We left it at that and though that they would of made some type of effort to clean the room before we returned - nope no care at all was given by the staff. Very disappointing.

I stayed at the hotel on New Years Eve and New Years Day 2017/18. The hotel was okay and was probably the only one available at short notice for the time of year. The room was clean but is in need of an update as was the bathroom. The restaurant was closed on New Years Day but there was food available from the bar. We ordered 2 pizzas from the bar and they were almost inedible. I complained to the bar staff who said she would talk to the chef. She seemed to take forever so we left. I wouldn't want to spend too long there.

The staff at the hotel are quite pleasant in their manner and helpful. Comfortable bed and pleasant room with efficient air conditioning. The location is excellent and just a short walk to restaurants and pubs for bistro meals. We took advantage of the free buffet breakfast in the morning and whilst it was fairly crowded it was abundant with plenty of choices: fruit, yoghurt, cereals, pancakes, eggs and bacon etc. The coffee was $4.00 (for a cappuccino and was delicious) There is parking on the site. Public transport: trains and buses are very close which will take you into the City or anywhere you want to go. I would recommend this property for families as it is accessible and affordable, which is unusual in Sydney. As long as you don't expect a 5 star property, this place is definitely worth considering and we will be back!

I stay here often for work- this would be my 10+ visit- and if I had any choice in the matter, I'd never set foot in here again. Each time I visit, the hotel has been paired back further, fallen much more into disrepair. I actually cannot believe it is still part of the Rydges chain. It's much more of a standard of a 3 star budget hotel. This visit the issues I encountered were: broken air con, the Foxtel channels don't work ( when I spoke to staff about this, apparently they don't work in any room- but they still claim to have it), broken lights and the fridge was a cupboard as there was not even the slightest coolness to it. That's not to mention the disgusting run down nature of the room. I had a executive harbourview- with a tiny glimpse of the harbour. The bathroom is so worn out, cracked tile, shower curtain. The bed is absolutely not a Rydges style bed, it is lumpy and so worn. The room furniture is so old the dirt is ingrained. Plus much construction surrounding so be aware if you have a room on the west side. There is little to nothing to redeem this hotel these days, and the staff clearly know that and it's reflected in their level of care when issues are brought to their attention
