Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose

4.5 out of 5.0

This hotel is a very nice hotel that's about 15 mins from the airport. It has two nicer restaurants and two bars. Our checking was great with a super friendly staff member named Sol. She was very helpful and quick. This hotel has a great spa and a super nice workout facility. Overall I was impressed and had a great stay.

Hotel is beautiful. The room was very nice but the beds were hard. Pool water is quite cold and there is always a breeze, but the hot tub is fabulous! They need to hire more helpful and friendly concierge staff.

great hotel with congenial helpful staff; amazing variety of great restaurants and bars, beautiful grounds and pool area; was immaculately clean; our first trip to Costa Rica and everyone made us feel at home and was very helpful....great experience and would highly recommend..

I was awe struck when I arrived at the hotel. I was greeted by name and offered a beverage and assistance to my room. There are three world class pools on site and an attendant to provide towels and citrus water. The Sushi Bar on site had a nice Caribbean flair to the food, and the seafood restaurant was exquisite. Marriott is always my first choice when making reservations and this hotel confirmed it as an excellent choice!

I checked into the Marriott and was very pleased. I first booked a room at the Wyndham Hotel. However, the desk clerk woman was extremely rude, and I saw the writing on the wall as a result, I booked a room at the Marriott and surprised how beautiful the property was, and how nice and professional the staff was at the Marriott. It is the best in San Jose.

We stayed here for one night after a trip to Arenal Valley and needed a place close to the airport for our early morning flight. Very very close to the San Jose airport, about a 10 minute cab ride and the hotel can help easily arrange transport, for a fee. The hotel grounds are gorgeous with beautiful mountain views. Plenty of food options, including a nice sports bar with very friendly staff. The room itself was just decent, nothing special but did the job.

Very pleasant. Great find in San Jose. Our stay was excellent.

Good stay and we enjoy the hotel. The room was comfortable and we would visit again.

awesome room, comfortable beds, nice amenities, poor service in the restaurant and expensive gift shop. extremely close to SJO airport .....

This hotel is fine. It's clean, it's close to the city and to the airport, the pool is nice, and they even give you cold towels by the pool to make you feel pampered. But it is impossibly overpriced. $25 breakfast for eggs. Pathetic and the eggs should be AMAZING at that price (this coming from a New Yorker). Also, when I ask the front desk about a tour of San Jose I was NOT referred to the tourism desk they have on site, which was hidden, but was told to hire a cab for 3 hrs to be driven around for twice as much as an in-english city tour! That doesn't even begin to explain the poor level of service given here.

It was very good . Food. Could of more varieties It is little too far from city San Jose and everything else

I had a one night lay-over in San Jose and was delighted to discover this amazing coffee plantation converted into a luxury hotel –and close to the airport for that early departure. Will stay here every time I am back to SJO!

A great hotel to stay. Excellent service. Hope to have more food options.

Very Good Hotel. Beautiful Spa. The restaurant is a bit expensive. The guests woke us up 6 am speaking in the hallway loudly. The Building, the staff, the view is very nice and so close to the airport.

Good family hotel and nice getaway hotel omn the way to the beaches

My husband and I stayed at the Marriot for the Holiday weekend. The hotel is great and close to the airport and rental car places. The only down side is that breakfast is not included and for the price per night, it should be included. The food is expensive at the hotel restaurant, breakfast will cost you $25/person.

The location of this resort hotel is perfect for having just arrived in San Jose, or for departing Costa Rica the next day. It is only 3 miles from the airport. A taxi should cost about $10-12. The hotel is beautiful as are the grounds. The rooms are beautifully decorated. When the air conditioning turns on, you hardly notice it. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in . . . and I am 60 years old, and slept in hundreds of different beds. The grounds are so immaculately maintained that you want to walk around just to appreciate how nice things are. We were there for a "mexican buffet". Wow . . . what a great variety and all of it meticulously prepared. There were many families there, but it is easy to find private areas, and the rooms are virtually soundproof. The very best part of it all was that we were able to get us a room for much less than the rate advertised on the hotel website. People checking in next to us were paying almost three times what we were paying.

Everything at the hotel was perfect. Although the food menu at the hotel restaurant didn't have many dishes, the few they had were really good.

This beautiful hotel had all the amenities and excellent service. A wonderful pool with a view of palm trees and distant mountains, close to excellent restaurants. A very responsive hotel staff. Tour services were top notch to the many beautiful locations in this remarkable country. I attended a conference and the room was well appointed and comfortable. The food in the retaurant was expensive but high quality, and the staff readily recommended local alternatives. The hoel deserves its four stars. A fine family vacation spot to which we would gladly return.

Great services and food. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Room and restaurants were quiet and relaxing. Food served was above average; buffets offered lots of variety and servers were great. Front desk staff was helpful and friendly and followed through with offers to help us locate some lost items. Distance is close to airport but not so close and away from air traffic patterns that you don't hear noisy planes. There are no stores in close walking distance. We left ipads, expensive cameras, and computer out in room and never had any issues with theft. Prices of souvenirs in hotel store were overpriced but that is pretty normal.
