next time I come to San Jose, I’m staying here and taking advantage of the golf club option. Super people. Super location.
These are the nicest people. As an American, I go to Costa Rica to experience their country. This former home, converted into a boutique hotel is exactly what I wanted and I was more than satisfied. Exceeded my expectations.
We chose to stay here the night we arrived and the night before we left San Jose. The owners indeed felt like family, just as everyone has said in reviews. One of the huge benefits was getting to chat with Cecilia and learning about Costa Rica and the culture. Come to find out, her great grandfather was a former president of Costa Rica! The property itself is lovely and walking distance to several restaurants and a very contemporary mall. We stayed here in late July and highly recommend it. We felt very safe, loved being so close to the airport, and the hospitality of the owners can't be beat!
We were picked up at the airport, brought to the hotel, and treated with tamarindo drinks and pound cake. Beautiful room. My wife and I are retired; this hotel is perfect for us.
Greeted warmly and personally by the owner on arrival. Room was spacious, with all amenities and fast wifi. Easy drive to airport (they offer free airport shuttle at any time of day). Excellent breakfast. Lovely landscaping - dining area overlooks garden - past the garden is the Carriari golf course. I will make this hotel my standard place to overnight when flying in/out through SJO. Also - close to a bus stop (fare to downtown San José about ¢530, roughly $1), and close to restaurants, either across the pedestrian bridge over the freeway at the mall (cinema, bookstore, wide range of shopping options), or down the frontage road towards San Jose 200 meters, where you will also find the Nahua chocolate store, as well as a Fresh Market, dry cleaner, etc.
Nice, clean hotel for our last night in Costa Rica. Walking distance to mall, Hard Rock Cafe, large tourist store, restaurants, mall, etc. Hotel staff very helpful and personable. Good breakfast. Good value for price.
