A good hotel, which I certainly recommend if you want a place near the airport, but still in close proximity with the city center of San Jose and local dining choices, such as high-rated Machu Pichu just a few block away. The rooms are decent, always clean, and the front desk is helpful if you have any questions. The morning buffet is wonderfully rich in local specialities and fruits, which you can enjoy in the garden at the pool or in the small restaurant.
Stayed 2 only between arrival in SJO and onward travel. + (mildly) helpful staff + fairly clean and spacious room - pool closed (a reason we gave chosen the hotel for to relax with family after a city tour) - our room smelled - lights in room far too dimmed/dark to e.g. play or read - rather noisy with people holding a party in the lower floor
The location is excellent in the middle of downtown San Jose. It has a big parking lot for your rent a car which is a big plus and hard to be find. The rooms are very quiet overlooking the pool and the garden. Nevertheless the pool is being renovated right now. The restaurant serves good food at a good price and the buffet for breakfast has a lot of choices.
We stayed here for one night before starting our adventure elsewhere in Costa Rica. The room we stayed in was quite outdated and could do with modernisation. The shower door didn’t work very well and kept coming off of its run. The bathroom was unclean and there were marks on the floor and on the bathroom mirror. Our room was facing the road which meant we could hear traffic all through the night, it was also on the ground floor so we could hear people walking by and the general hustle and bustle from the the main reception. The redeeming factor was the breakfast which was included in our stay and was nice.
The last night of our trip in Costa Rica we stayed here. Rooms are a little small bit overall the grounds was really nice and well kept. They had a nice garden area to sit and relax which was right next to their pool. Very convie toy located, our first night we drove over to a couple popular malls to eat and shop. Breakfast the next day was buffet style...my favorite. Good author tic Costa Rican foods. Overall nice stay although for just 1 night. We checked out 8am the next day.
For the price this room was not good. Bathroom was dirty with hair. Room was old. Everything seemed ok for one night but not more. It seemed that someone stole money out of the wallet in a bag in the room while we were having only one drink at the bar!
It is a good option for staying in the center od San José. It is very quiet to sleep and the rooms are spacious with TV. There is a big lot for parking your car which is very important for staying in the center of San José. The Restaurant serves good food for a reasonable price.
This was part 3 of our trip. We only stayed here to basically wait for our departure time. We checked in around 5pm and checked out at 4:30am. It was a rainy day and temperature was way cooler than around the beaches and the volcano area. We didn't use the pool but it looked really nice. We did have dinner at the restaurant by the pool, and even though the wait was a bit long and the service was slow, the food was excellent and the coffee the best we had the whole vacation (cappuccinos and cafe cortado). Our stay included breakfast but since we had to check out so early, I asked at front desk what's the situation with that and they provided us with a "breakfast box" more like a doggie bag lol that included a ham and cheese sandwich, an apple, a juice box and some maria cookies. Nothing special but at least we had something to munch on while waiting. The rooms were just average. The front desk looks very updated and modern, while the rooms were dated. But I must say, the beds were comfortable. We had room 62, which was a 2 bedroom suite. It has a nicely redone bathroom very modern but the decor throughout the room was very dated. 3 twin size beds in main room, with a kitchenette with a sink -but no fridge- and one queen in the master bedroom. large closet in the hallway. The parking lot is across the street, so for check in you have to just put your hazard lights on and leave it on the street (if you're driving). If you have other guests in other rooms, you must dial 1+the room number in order to connect. I wasn't able to figure out how to dial the reception.
This hotel is much nicer than the Exe san Jose hotel which I stayed for 2 nights at start of trip. This location is better, staff friendlier and room just as descent as Exe San Jose. Breakfast has A good variety on offer. Nice place.
Just came back from San Jose, staying here for one night to fly out next morning. They gave us a room that reminded me a horror movie. Very old. Strange looking beds that very very old. We had to pay extra money to be moved to a normal looking room. We went to get coffee downstairs around 9 pm when all of a sudden group of teenagers come to the area outside for salsa lessons. They turn music on sooo loud that people started screaming at them cause everyone is trying to rest. Hotel staff did absolutely nothing about it. Unfortunately they were American kids and acted spoiled screaming back at people and just being nasty. Once again, nothing was done by management. Horrible hotel.
