Our favorite place to stay in San Diego

This is our "go too" hotel, close to Seaport Village and amazing restaurants. The hotel itself is still lovely and clean but the rooms are starting to look "tired" The carpet in our room looked pretty worn with multiple large stains and felt icky. For the high nightly price tag your guests need to not question the cleanliness of the rooms and feel that the pristine cleanliness is only reserved for the public areas. On a positive note, we were given an early check in.

The hotel was great- clean- in walking distance to Petco Park, the Midway, and all of the Gaslamp restaurants and shops. The valet staff was quick and polite- and the process was so easy when we needed our car. The hotel staff were helpful and kind- and I got texts daily to check in on our stay. They even helped with restaurant recommendations! If I ever get to visit San Diego again- I will def stay here!

The location to restaurants was good. Walking to Seaport Village was doable. Housekeeping missed servicing the room one day and the next day, I called them after 3pm. It was completed withing the hour.

I recently stayed at the Hilton San Diego Gaslamp. While the room and location were, respectively, excellent and good, I was truly annoyed by a simple receipt issue. I specifically requested the receipt to be emailed to me. I'm surprised that such a basic issue would require webpage messages (which I completely ignored), multiple phone calls (with long wait times), and lengthy emails. It is unacceptable for Hilton to be unable to handle such a basic billing issue, which I had already experienced at another Hilton property overseas. It seems Hilton has lowered its customer service standards.
