Hyatt Place San Antonio - Riverwalk

It's nice that it's on the Riverwalk, but it's a bit far from any restaurants or bars on the Riverwalk. It's quicker to walk the streets to get to the main drag on the river. The room, facilities and pool are all very nice. I stayed for leisure for 2 days with my wife. Our only big complaint is the tiny bathroom; there's barely enough room to stand and close the door from inside. Also, no decent sized shelf in the shower for shampoo, etc.

Upon arrival at the hotel lobby to check in, front desk was deserted. No one was there to check us in. Thought I came in in the wrong entrance. Walked around the hallways and by the elevator for about ten minutes until I saw someone pushing a cart of some sort and asked him where's the front desk. Realized that I came in in the right entrance and that no one was there at the front desk. The person that was pushing the cart was surprised that no one was at the front desk so, he checked us in. Phones in the hotel room didn't work well and had to use the speaker phone to use the phone since the handset wasn't working. Room had no DVD player, which the hotel description on this site is misleading. Quite location and free hot breakfast were the only good things about this hotel in my experience.

check-in day early by mistake BUT the staff gave us room till the next day.the move was great-the hotel was near resturants----river walk..since was not able to walk --cab cost to the river walk shops $6 ALAMO---------------------------------------------again awesome..this was my one bucket list to go home where born --------------------------------------------OH the kids had fun and the breakfast was tasty and great

Good hotel and location but room smelled like smoke and alocohol.

Hotel has a great location with close access to the Riverwalk area. The staff is very pleasant and always greets you when you enter the hotel. Since I like having a vehicle when I travel, I found the parking arrangement satisfying and easy to get in and out.

Title misleading blocks away from the busy part of the riverwalk...but you get a better price.

Nice and clean, quiet part of Riverwalk. Good breakfast in the AM, and menu available for a cost 24 hours which was great after the kids swam all night. It's a long walk to the main part of the Riverwalk with kids, but a nice quiet area.

Hotel very clean, staff friendly, room clean, bed comfortable, breakfast great, great location to river walk or downtown.

The hotel is great, as is expected from this brand. Clean room. Spacious, friendly staff and a super fast check in process. Free breakfast and wifi and a bar in the hotel. It used to have free parking, but now it's $15, so that is one of two reasons that I gave four stars instead of five. The other reason is, that while this hotel is technically on the San Antonio River, it's not really the part of the riverwalk where there is anything at all to do. You'll need to walk about 1/3-1/2 a mile to get to anything at all. It's a nice walk, but don't think you're going to be right in the middle of the riverwalk. That being said, it's quiet and we felt safe with the walk and with the parking. Being on the Riverwalk is not important to us, but free parking is, so I'll have to factor in that extra cost when choosing a hotel in SA next time.

Nice location-right on the river walk and access to lots of great places to eat and see. Room was nice-however finding the false eye lashes on the extra toilet paper roll, freaked my kids out a bit. Bathroom was TINY! You had to climb over the toilet and stand behind the door to shut it. Not a lot of space there. Great breakfast and hotel lobby.

This hotel is right near downtown and lots of restaurants. So, it was easy to just get up and walk everywhere we wanted to go. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to visit San Antonio.

Nice hotel, on the Riverwalk and close to the convention center, walking distance to lots of stuff

We had stayed in San Antonio in September at a different hotel. It was a very pleasant experience. We were told after Thanksgiving they light up the Riverwalk for Christmas and it is beautiful. So,my wife and I came back to see for ourselves. We only stayed a weekend but it was worth it. It is beautiful. This hotel is right on the Riverwalk which is convenient but it is not where the main action is. No decorations are on this end. It is about a 10 minute walk to where all the restaurants and Christmas decorations are. Don't get me wrong, the hotel is very nice and I would stay there again but don't bother paying extra for a river view. Also, the walk on the Riverwalk was a pleasant stroll.

Friendly staff and comfortable beds. No more to trll

Had a restful night. Clean and comfortable room, albeit the breakfast bar area was disorganized. Would recommend an orderly approach to the food service area. Can be easily monitored by one staff member.

The hotel check in was painless and fast. Room was very clean, comfortable and with a nice view. We arrived late at night after much travel, wanted to shower, but had issues with the shower. The next morning we again went to shower and get ready for the day. The shower was really hard to turn on- almost impossible to regulate the temperature. But the worse part- we then could not turn it off. Called the front desk and they sent Mark- the Head Engineer up along with another employee. Mark not only figured out the problem immediately but he had brought all the right tools and parts to fix the issue. He was professional, kind, and knew right what he was doing. The problem was fixed in a jiffy by Mark. I would seriously try to hire/steal this man if I lived in San Antonio

Footsteps from the San Antonio river, but not near the Riverwalk where all the restaurants are. That's at least a 20-25 min. walk. Temperature of the room very hard to control.

Staff always greeted me with a smile and always very helpful!!!!!

Room is kinda old and looks comparable to a 2 star motel. Breakfast is not comparable to holiday inn express and or embassy suites. Hotel staff are nice.

Great location. Variety for breakfast. Pillows could be bigger and bed could be softer and back door should remain closed for safety.
