Nice room. It was cleaned, we had a suite, large very nice. Parking was a distance walk and the restoration going on at the Alamo made it difficult to get to the hotel. All in all we enjoyed staying here. Staff was helpful.

Historic hotel, awesome staff and close to a lot of great activities

Great staff, clean, beautiful architecture and history. A stone throw away from the river walk and Alamo.

We were very satisfied spending our stay in San Antonio at The Menger, where I stayed fifty years ago.

I love the history of the hotel and all the antique relics. The bar was a great place to unwind and visit with other guests. It would have been nice to have a continental breakfast available. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Hotel was clean and located close to the riverwalk.

I did not like that the walls were thin. On top floor & could hear people talking & horse carriages clopping by at night Other than that. Stay was perfect!

Nice place. Old and historic but clean. Don't be thrown off by the old. The staff was amazing. So friendly and courteous!

The property and facility was beautiful and it was fun hearing the ghost stories. We felt that the room was cold.

I love the Menger however the bathroom are small! Il love the pool(so does my granddaughter!) there was a noise problem in my room but manager took care of us. Love the folks in the beautiful blue and white dining room. Love the Menger, oh the guys parking the cars are very nice!

Love the historic nature of the place. Unfortunately, the boiler failed while I was there, so I couldn't take a hot shower. That suggests a lack of preventive maintenance. Second problem occurred at checkout: Rather than being able to quickly store my bags for a few hours with the concierge, I was told at first that I would have to continue to keep my bag that included a laptop, because the hotel couldn't store it, and then, when I complained to another person at the front desk, I was told that it could, in fact, be held, but only by the security staff -- unlike what I've experienced at any other hotel. That delayed me on both ends of my free time during the day -- I had to wait for the security staff both to drop off my bag and to pick it up. I appreciate your concern about my belongings, but why is every other hotel able to handle this expeditiously? Both of these are minor problems -- "first world problems," someone might say, since it's not imperiling anything. But it just detracted from the experience I hoped to have at the hotel.

Everything was great except we ended up on the side facing the Alamo, so it was kind of noisy during the night, but the room itself was nice and clean. The staff were friendly whenever we encountered them and the food at the restaurant was excellent.

Enjoyed its historic and beautiful architecture. Cant say anything bad about this hotel..we enjoyed our stay.

Staff was good, hotel and property was great and historic, ideal location, great value for the price

Very friendly staff all around. ( valet guys, people at the front desk, housekeepers, maintenance workers, etc.)Great location to river walk , restraunts, shopping. What I didnt like....$50 for the buffet on Easter per person and no free parking. If I already payed for a plane, a car, and a hotel. I think i would get to either park free or get a discount on the buffet. The complimentary water was nice though each day sense it was really hot out.

love the location, but being an old building, there was no instant heat in the rooms and the weather had turned cold

The allure of a haunted hotel drew us to the property and we were not disappointed.

Dear Ms. Julia. Thank you for completing the Expedia survey. We are glad that you had a good stay at The Menger. With some limitation on our part due to CONVID 19 and the restoration/renovation of The Alamo we apologized for the difficulties that you encountered. Again, thank you for letting us serve you. We look forward for your next visit. Sincerely, Ramon g. Orendain
