This was a clean hotel and very good value; it's location isn't close to anything (except the highway) so you will need a car or taxis to get to the area attractions. The staff was very friendly and helpful so I'm sure they can help you manage your way around town. I would stay here again without a doubt. The first floor rooms have patio door entrances. This wasn't overt on the website so I would clarify that request when booking the room.
We stayed at this hotel June 26th, 2017 and we were very disappointed. We have been staying at many Comfort Inns as we had our friends pet with us and this just doesn't measure up. The hotel itself is run down, the rooms smelled like smoke, in particular our friends room, the smell was disgusting. The Breakfast was awful, we heard the eggs were bad, and there was really not much to speak of other than cereal and we had to ask for more milk. The hotel was full and there was a sports team of young girls there trying to eat before their event. The girl attending to the room was also looking after the front desk. She was very friendly and helpful but covering too much. There was nothing else available in the city and we got their last rooms so we were glad for that. Try elsewhere if you can.
Awful stay. Were on the first floor and could hear people walking upstairs, too noisy. We initially had booked 2 nights and it was SO BAD that we are now changing our ferry date and leaving town (will be asking for a refund).
Very pleasant (aren't all Canadians?) and helpful motel front desk and breakfast staff. Motel is in a good location in town for checking out the nearby Bay of Fundy and going for a hike in Irving Nature Park.
The room was adequate and clean. I checked in rather late and went right to sleep. The next morning I checked the sheets and saw a blood stain on the sheets. Quickly examined myself and my clothes and it was not from me. Mentioned it to the front desk person, after being ignored for several minutes by the 3 people standing behind the desk chatting. The FD person apologized but did not offer to compensate me in any way. I work at a hotel and this is unacceptable. On the good side of things the lady who has tended the breakfast for years was very friendly and informative about the area. She made an excellent suggestion for something to do
Accommodation is disappointing and badly in need of updating. The good things were a comfortable bed, reliable wifi and some of the staff were pleasant. Located on a very busy road and able to hear traffic noise even with windows closed. While the room was clean, it did not smell fresh. It had permanent strange odour and also smelt like cigarette smoke even though it was a "non smoking" room. We left the window open all day but the smell was just the same when we got back at the end of the day. There was no refrigerator or microwave. The continental breakfast was very basic. The security was questionable. A number of the "locked" external access doors were able to be used to get into the hotel without using the required access pass, just pull it open. There is no elevator so unless you are on the ground floor, you have to heave your luggage upstairs. Sadly this hotel is far below the Comfort Inn standard that we have experienced many times over in other locations. Did not think it was good value for money when compared to other similar priced hotels we have stayed at. Would definitely not stay here again and suggest others look around for better options.
Unfortunately, this hotel has seen better days and is in need of extensive renos. The control knob on the bathroom sink came off in my hand, the sliding door latch was ineffective, and the curtains were torn. In addition, a stron-smelling plug-in air freshener located right next to the computer terminal in the lobby made that room impossible for me to remain in for more than a few minutes.
This hotel is very well kept, beautiful room, fridge and micro, clean crisp beds, clean bathroom. One of the best rooms I have ever stayed in and we travel from Nova Scotia to Florida every year. We could park right outside and enter the side door so if you have a heavy load it was convenient. the brekfast a a variety of selection including eggs, apples, waffles, tea coffee toast, yogurt and it was greek. Pillows were wonderful to sleep on.
We booked this motel as we we to come home the next day and wanted a motel on the city's west side. What a mistake!!!!!! My wife and I are both seniors, when we got to the motel we were given a room on the 2nd floor with no elevator. After carrying our own bags upstairs to the 2nd floor and opened the door, we could not believe the state of the room. The room had a stink to it, the room had a bad smoke smell and cigarette burns in the carpet. As soon as we got into the room, I tried some hotels in the area but nothing was available. Resigning myself to putting up with this room, I grabbed the ice bucket and as if to make the room worse, the lid for the bucket stuck to my hand, YUCH I took the whole bucket to get a replacement all they did was clean the lid. What was on the lid and possible inside the bucket. I decided that I would not have a drink that evening. Overnight, there were doors slamming closed and people talking so loud you could hear every word. Because of the smoke, I had to take allergy pills so that I could get any sleep at all. We did not stay for the free breakfast because if the rooms were dirty, how was the food preparation area. We stayed at 2 other Comfort Inns on our vacation trip and both of them exceded this motel visit 10 time over. What a poor excuse for a motel. Even if the room was free, it would be too much.
Entering the hotel it smelled like cigarette smoke. Front guest was friendly - only upon check-in. When going into my non-smoking room, it smelled of cigarette smoke. The bathroom was dirty - yellowed facecloth over a white towel, caulking around sink missing in spots, broken toilet handle and loose toilet seat, dirt in the sink and mold around the sink drain, bathtub has dark brown stain, grout was disgustingly dirty, dust covering everything. Even the hair dryer was full of dust. The carpet in the main area had crumbs on it and there was dust everywhere. Went to turn on the ac unit and there was so much dirt and dust inside the control cover I didn't want to even turn it on. The TV was fuzzy and had lines through each station most of the time. Every time I came and left the hotel back entrance there was someone in their pajamas standing next to the door smoking, even at 2pm when I was checking in. When getting up in the morning I noticed a copy of my bill under the door. I went to the front desk to ask for a return on the 3% (voluntary) NB tourism levy, as is your right when staying in NB. The lady at reception told me they had to charge it and couldn't refund it and if I didn't like it to call tomorrow when the manager was in. Only one ice machine on main floor. Overall - do not stay here.
