Our first e-mail communications with the hotel made us confident of our choice. We stayed 4 nights( too few!) in room 304. This is a large junior suite to which we had been upgraded. As expected given the nature of the location directly on Via Babuino, the room did not have much of a view nor was it light-filled. This was not an issue for us. The room was immaculate with enough storage space to keep our extensive luggage tidy. The linens, towels etc. were of fine quality as were the toiletries and other amenities. The bathroom is beautiful with a large walk-in shower and separate tub. After walking miles each day in Rome, the tub was especially delightful. We were given an evening turn-down service which refreshed the room with new towels and linens. While the lobby is quite small the reception was run with friendly efficiency. Upon arrival via the taxi arranged by the hotel, we were met by a valet who took charge of our luggage. Since we were quite early our room was not yet ready. We did some exploration on the Piazza del Popolo which is just footsteps away and lovely for people watching and cafe sitting. Restaurant choices abound in the area and the evening passagiato is alive and well here. We were shown to our room and apprised of how things worked. A sweet hand drawn book of Rome’s sites was offered and taken advantage of. There is an elevator as well but valet service was quite important to us for luggage handling. The roof-top breakfast area was lovely and we enjoyed the breakfast very much. The space is airy and bright and also serves as a bar. Service was excellent at all times...cheerful and helpful. Special thanks to Silvia, Yohanys, Maria and Veronica as well as to the many whose names I do not know. The location could not be better. A taxi stand a few steps away offered transport to some far-flung places but also wonderful walk between Piazza de Popolo and the Spanish Steps...and most places in between and further on depending on your walking legs! The newly renovated Ara Pacis is steps away as is the Borghese Garden. We have been to Rome several times and this is by far the best hotel/ location experience we have had. How lovely to come back to Babuino 181 after a tough day of site seeing and eating! I would definitely stay here again!

I needed a comfortable hotel room on short notice, and the team welcomed me and even upgraded me when I checked in at 10pm that night. I only wish I was there longer to take advantage of the luxurious suite. Also, great breakfast! I was booked in an awful hotel through a tour group and I desperately needed comfort and a good night's sleep - and that's what I got. THANK YOU!

Hotel Babuino 181 in Rome is a hidden gem located close to the Spanish Steps but away from the crowds. The rooms are well appointed, the breakfast terrace/bar is lovely. The staff, Maria-Chiara and Luca we wonderful. We will be back.

Dear All I stayed at this really well located SLH Comfortable room and quite despite the super central position And I just was walking everywhere Great breakfast buffet and really professional staff I will stop again without when I pass to Rome Best Cc

My 19-year old nephew and I stayed here in June for two nights. I had previously stayed at a sister hotel on a previous visit to Rome and was already familiar with the hotel. Our rooms were reasonably spacious and well-designed with good closet space and great bathrooms. The hotel is well-located close to great shopping, the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolo. We enjoyed the roof top bar and breakfast buffet as well. The hotel is good value for those wanting a bit of luxury without paying a fortune.

Mr. Alberto Moncada, the proprietor of Babuino 181, has done an incredible job with his fabulous hotel. Mr. Moncada and his ancestors were raised in this calm and beautiful portion of Rome. Babuino 181 is emblematic of the class and pride of the Moncada family. Babuino 181 is the amalgamation of spectacular beauty, impeccable warmth and hospitality, and charm. Breakfast on the rooftop was spectacular. In a quiet and relaxing setting, we were treated to an outstanding breakfast; it was absolutely delicious. Valerio Venorando was incredibly friendly and willing to help in any way possible. His concerned and service oriented attitude was reflected in all the staff; special thanks to Silva, Maris, and Veronica at the front desk. Mr. Moncada gives his guests the amazing opportunity to stay in a busy city like Rome, but relax in his spectacular hotel. Lastly, Mr. Moncada gives to all his guests a 40-page peerless book, that gives an excellent summary of all the places of interest - including restaurants, unique stores of interest, and landmarks- that he and his family have known for decades. I had the opportunity to meet this incredibly humble and proud man; his warmth and genuine interest was evident in our conversation. He took the time to offer some dinner recommendations. Mr. Alberto Moncada is symbolic of the true class and spirit that Babuino 141, and all his facilities represent. Thank you - Mr. Moncada. Suzanne and Bob Franco- Ponte Vedra Beach, FL

Beautiful hotel and very central! Warm and welcoming hospitality. Especially Valerio who saw to our comfort at the breakfast bar upstairs! Very helpful, welcoming and friendly... made our stay and start to the day that much more special!

That was the second time at this hotel . It’s really great choice. Location. Prices. The rooms! The staff is very kind always trying to help you. Is a must. This time we stayed at the other side of the street but the quality was the same.

Grossly overpriced accommodations.  We absolutely don't agree with the hotel's description that they are "Rome's most exclusive boutique hotel" and "another dimension of Italian boutique luxury".  So many better options nearby.  There is also nothing special about the roof top terrace or the "Frette sheets" that feel like basic polyester.  We stayed in both the main hotel and annex but did not see a "marble bath" as advertised.  Breakfast was basic and staff was not able to accommodate our request for Eggs Benedict despite the claim that they provide "personalized service" and "can make it happen".  Two small pours of wine at happy hour cost more than a full bottle at every nearby restaurant and hotel.  We absolutely can not recommend this property and definitely will not return.

Stayed for 5 nights with my wife. The hotel is a boutique hotel close to the piazza del popolo and a few buildings from the hotel de russie. The location is very nice. The staff are great, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is very cute on the terrace and we enjoyed it. Room amenities and toiletries are excellent and very generous. Why not excellent? The hotel is split over two buildings across the street from each other which I did not like. The air conditioning was barely acceptable and I believe in July and August it would struggle to keep the room cool. Lastly, the linens are not soft and could be better quality. All those negatives did not make us regret our stay and we recommend this hotel for people visiting Rome.
