I had a wonderful stay thanks to Glynis, Tia, and Crystal! They were all fantastic and went the extra mile for me. Thank you so much for your outstanding customer service! Glynis was wonderful getting me situated, settled, and checked out. Tia and Crystal helped me with some papers that I needed mailed out. All three women were extremely helpful, genuine, and kind. Thank you so much for making my stay so wonderful!
My fiance and I wanted an in-town vacation for my birthday weekend (away from my two adult kids temp living with me). When I first checked rates for a two bedroom suite the prices were out of range for me so we stayed at a Country Inn and Suites. It was a nightmare of a night so I checked back to Residence Inn for the second night and got a really super rate so I booked immediately. First impression walking into the lobby was, 'wow, what a great improvement from the other hotel!" The staff was really friendly. In fact, when I called the hotel directly to make reservation earlier in the day I asked if I could check in early. The staff called me back shortly afterwards to tell me they had a suite ready for me. Walking into the suite was another WOW experience. I've stayed in many Residence Inns and while I've never had a bad experience, this property was the best I've ever stayed in; bright, clean, incredibly comfortable beds, blackout curtains that stayed together so morning sun wouldn't wake us up. The bathrooms were clean...towels were not that soft, though...kind of scratchy (a disappointment). The shower pressure was great. One thing we noticed in the two bedroom suite is that only one bedroom had a desk. The other bedroom did not so there was no place to plug in devices for charging (had to pull out the night table to get to outlet). We didn't have a laptop so couldn't check out how fast the Internet is. Other Residence Inns I've stayed at had free internet but was so slow that web pages would barely load. The outside pool looked great and while it was 90 degrees outside I have a feeling the water was still too cold to swim. No one was at the pool. Breakfast was great as it is with most Residence Inns; variety of cereals, hot foods, oatmeal, make your own waffles (including a blueberry with flax seed batter), etc. Coffee was great. I don't really have any complaints about the hotel at all! Checkout was friendly and quick.
In my opinion there is absolutely no excuse for a hotel to not have technology plug ins next to the bed in this day and age. There are so many easy, low cost options to provide this that when a hotel fails to offer that and I am having to reach down below and behind the bed to find a plug I cannot provide a good review regardless of the other features. In this case, not only were there no convenient plug ins, but after going to the work of reaching the plug behind the bed, only half of the outlet worked. So I had to choose between the lamp or my charger. The tv was also fading from normal to dark which often indicates it’s on its last leg. I reported both of these to the desk upon checkout. He never even wrote it down so hopefully he just has one of these great memories to tell maintenance - or else he just didn’t care and the next people will have the same issues. Other than that, it was a standard older Residence Inn. Breakfast was good. Evening reception was minimal but not unlike others. Front desk was not unfriendly in any way but also not outstanding. I won’t stay here again as they haven’t found it in their budget to buy a usb plug in for the night stand so that’s not a good sign.
I had the pleasure of staying at this property and had an amazing experience. Upon on check in I was met with a bright and beautiful smile from Glynis. She was fast and efficient. In the morning Doreen served the breakfast and did not miss a beat. It was very busy and she handled it well and with a smile. At night's Chad answered every question we asked and even told my husband where we could go to have a awesome time. I had also met Elaine and Gabriel as we walked through the hall way. They did not hesitate to greet us with smiling faces. I'm not normally good with names but because of the warm welcome and excellent service, I was able to remember without writing it down. Great job!!!.... Your leaders should be proud. Thanks for an amazing time. God Bless you all.
In my travels, I always look for Marriott (now Bonvoy) properties. I stay at a lot of Residence Inns. This one, like most, is in very good condition, nice rooms, good services, great staff. This hotel is 'pet friendly' and I have to give it one 'ding' for the amount of pet hair that was in my room. Apparently, they don't do a good enough deep cleaning after a 'furry guest' checks out. I got dog hair all over everything. I changed rooms and things were much better.
The Management and Staff at the Residence Inn Short Pump were wonderful. The Manager, Doreen, was very accommodating to my mother in-law who stayed in one of the two bedroom suites while recovering from surgery. She was there for over 93 days. The entire staff was extremely friendly and very helpful. If you're looking for a place to stay short term, choose this property, you will not be disappointed. Godfrey
The Residence Inn in Short Pump provided a very nice stay for two nights on our recent vacation. The Manager, Doreen, was particularly welcoming and showed us wonderful hospitality. She made you feel you were invited to stay at her home, not a hotel. The breakfasts were great and the Social Happy Hour was relaxing after a day of sightseeing. All staff encountered were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely return to this location when visiting Richmond.
Upon check in we received our room key and went to our third floor room, which was very cold and we found that someone had left the window open, probably because they were smoking in the room, as the second bedroom stank of smoke! When we returned to the elevator to go back to the front desk, the elevator got stuck on the third floor, making a loud ding noise that could not be stopped. The front desk called the elevator company and got us another room. The elevator did not stop making noise until after we went out to dinner, but was apparently fixed, although it continued to lurch suspiciously afterwards! The second room was great, clean and had no deficiencies, although you can see from the cabinets that this is an older property. The breakfasts were wonderful, although on the second morning they ran out of youghurts. Computers to print boarding passes did not work either.
This a typical Residence Inn by Marriott. The room was well appointed with a separate bedroom. The room was clean and the staff courteous. The included breakfast was good with a good variety. All in all this is a nice place to stay for a reasonable price.
After driving for nine hours on Thanksgiving Day, we never got to stay at the hotel. Not only that, we were told two different stories. One was that our reservation was canceled because of water pipe damage. The second was that they were overbooked. The manager was out of town. We were relocated to a hotel that could not accommodate my family. Then we were sent to another hotel where the people were extremely nice, but accommodations were not what we’re looking forward to - a little small. Two days later, we drove an hour out of our way to speak to the manager because she was supposed to be on duty. She was too busy to talk to us. Went back later in the day. She had gone home. Called and left voice mail. That was ignored. A disaster we should not have to pay for!!!
