Hotel not as advertised. My room was outdated, dirty, and just plain gross. Hotel was difficult to access. I had a difficult time managing a suitcase on wheels and laptop bag on wheels through the hotel entrance (never have issues maneuvering my normal travel gear). The staff saw I was having difficulty and didn't offer to help. I thought the staff was useless. I love the residence inn brand, but decided against staying at this location again. I do not recommend this hotel.
I chose this hotel because I had a good experience at another at one of there hotels in Stanhope, NJ. I also chose this hotel because it offers 2 room suites. I arrived at 3:30. I asked the not so pleasant front desk clerk about my room, she said the only thing she can give me was an accessible tub room. I was confused because I did not reserve that kind of room. I reserved a regular 2 room suite so I thought, but maybe not. She told me there were not other rooms available so I had to stay in room 208. Cons: 1. Not so pleasant front desk clerk 2. The accessible room 208 was dirty on arrival at 3:30 (dirty dishes in the sink, cabinets open, no sheets, comforter on the bed, bed not made, dirty bathroom). I contacted the front desk lady, she told me 3 women were coming up to clean the room and if I wanted to come back to the waiting area. Of course I didn't after I had already brought all out luggage and stuff upstairs. Ely who is apart of the housekeeping team came to assist me. He asked me if I wanted a different room. I told him the lady a the front desk already told me no. Miraculously, a room so happen to become available. Ely helped me move my belonging upstairs. Thank You Ely for being so kind and helpful. Roughly about 15 minutes later the young lady from the from desk to make sure we were ok. Honestly, if i return I hope she is not working. 3. The hallway on the 3rd floor smells like dogs. There was minimal smell in my room. Ely advised me that dogs have never been in the room I was in. 4. Breakfast area, one one person working. She was not able to stock food items and keep the tables cleaned off as people came down for breakfast. 5. Suggestion: Get another waffle maker. One doesn't work well for this hotel on the weekends. 6. Animal hair on the couch 7. Hot water did not work-bathroom sink 8. The way the tv is set up you can't wait it if you at the desk or sitting at the other end of the couch. Pros: 1. Room 308 was ok. 2. Parking was great. 3. Breakfast menu was great. 4. Comfortable bed and pillows 5. Nice bathroom 6. Basketball court 7. All around nice suite 8. Affordable 9. TV's in both living room and bedroom 10 Nice home decor Overall this Residence Inn is nice. I would return if there were not other 2 suites available in the area.
Love the 2 bedroom suites...perfect for families. The rooms were very clean, especially the bathrooms. The beds were wonderful....the breakfast was just right, nothing special but definitely something for everyone to choose from. The staff couldn't have been nicer....would recommend to anyone needing a quick overnight.
Our one night stay at Residence Inn Short Pump for my birthday last month was wonderful. Great service and helpful staff! The room and bathroom were very clean and I enjoyed the extra sitting area. The bed was so comfortable to sleep in, I usually have a hard time sleeping in hotels. Perfect place to get away with someone special for the night!
I stayed at this hotel with my adult daughter and two grandchildren. We chose this hotel because they had two-bedroom suites, which are hard to find. While the rooms were adequate and the kitchen area was small but nicely laid out, the hotel needs a little refreshing and updating, as it was looking a little worn. The pool was small, but large enough for the grandchildren to enjoy. The breakfast was adequate, and we enjoyed the make-your-own waffles. The best thing about this hotel is its proximity to I-64 and the shopping areas along this stretch of Broad Street. If you are going on a shopping trip, I would recommend this hotel just for its great location to Short Pump and other stores (Trader Joes, Hobby Lobby, HomeGoods, etc.).
Our stay at Residence Inn Short Pump was a wonderful experience. The Staff was very courteous and the rooms were very nice. The property was clean, the pool was well kept and breakfast was great. I do wish the suites were King size since my husband is 6' 4'' but we made do with the Queen size suite.
The accommodations were perfect for a weekend getaway. The spacious one room suite offers a sitting area with a full kitchen. Everything was clean!!! There property is idea for business travelers, couples, and families.
We stayed at the Residence Inn because of some friends that were coming down to visit. They allowed my friends to check-in without me having to be physically present because of my work schedule (completely hassle free). The hotel was wonderful, the rooms were spacious and clean. The staff was extremely helpful and welcoming, we will stay again for future trips to Richmond!
This was our first visit to this great property and we'll definitely be back. Great location, amenities, and people...highly-recommended! We're Marriott Rewards Platinum (great program) and stay in a lot of hotels.
I have been in the hospitality business for ten years. I worked for a few hotels in the hilton family until I found my home at an award winning Hampton Inn in VA. To say the least I know the ins and outs of the business and what to look for in terms of hospitality and cleanliness. I can honestly say without hesitation that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at! The property is not brand new but is very well kept. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our every need was met. My family was in town for my graduation from VCU. I expected a very busy hectic weekend and prayed that the hotel stay went smooth especially because we had our two beloved dogs with us who have never traveled and are VERY anxious. Linda the front desk manager called me ahead of time to inquire about a room change. She was very friendly and you could hear the excitement in her voice! Colin and Cara greeted us upon checkin with warm smiles and congratulated. Cara went above and beyond for my family. We seemed to constantly need things but she cheerfully assisted each and every time. I met Cullen the night auditor at 3:00 a.m. when I took my very annoying anxiety ridden dogs on a walk and forgot the key card! He was truly a breath of fresh air and made the whole situation tolerable. Even housekeeping and maintenance were very accommodating. Our housekeeper (I believe her name was Pam) accommodated our late check out and even asked if we needed extra trash bags and asked if we needed any assistance! The first night our a/c broke, maintenance man was at our door in 3 minutes. Took him a total of 15minutes to fix and voila AIR! I do not remember his name unfortunately!I also spoke with a Glynis who was oh so lovely and pleasant! This is defnitely the hotel you need to be if traveling to Short Pump!
