This Canada's Best Value Inn in Charlottetown is an older style inn, (i.e. looks like a Motel 6 single floor layout. However, we LOVED it! The room was clean and the A/C works great, and due to the layout there is an open feel to the inn. We especially like the full breakfast. Inn has an outdoor, heated pool. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The price was excellent Highly recommend. Great location, near Walmart.
The hotel was okay, however the second building was in dire need of updating. Attention to details in the presentation department were.lacking. The spider webs need to be removed daily from the entrance of the doorways. As well as the ones present on the walls (it looked dried and dead for an extended period). The bathroom needed some updating the taps were vey outdated and the water was very inconsistent. It was warm, them ice cold and then hot. As long as you are aware, you can adjust for it. Otherwise in a pinch it's ok. Would my daughter and I stay again? In a pinch, but not by choice at this location.
I'm very happy wife smokes ,we had a smoking room for 7 days (26 of July-Aug2)...Great breakfast every morning (some people take extras for there lunch on the road) bacon, eggs, toast, bagels(assorted jams&cream cheese)coffee, orange juice ..sometimes muffins. always have.dry cereals, tea, hot choclate....Has a outdoor pool....some people complain because they expect it to be a 5 star hotel ..It very good value the price ,compare with some hotels that cost $475 per night just down the road from our hotel...Most people just need a place to sleep as most of the day you are driving to sitesee on this small island where everything is about 1-3 drive away ..a one hour drive to Anne of Green Gables House or Cavendish beaches ,Lobster Dinners
This is the only time I have ever checked into a hotel and then requested a refund and left the same night. Our room was dated and run down, but that would have been ok given the price. However there was a disgusting odour in the room and upon looking at the air conditioner we saw that it was full of mold. We immediately looked for somewhere else to stay and left right away. I was also very disappointed that they were unable to accommodate my request to stay through for the two nights I booked back to back but separately (we changed our plans after the initial booking). I was told we would have to check out take all our belongings then check back in later in the day. We ended up staying in North Rustico about half an hour away for significantly less and had a great stay.
Check in process was very smooth, nothing surprising. It is very close to the grocery store and shopping center. In fact, you can walk there. Breakfast is fair. You can park your car in front of your room, very convenient.
Loved the staff. Very friendly and helpful. Food was good; excellent service at restaurant. Room very clean and comfortable. Pool available did not use it. We are already planning our next trip. Will return.
Stayed here solo recently.Location near everything like Restaurants, malls etc. I enjoyed staying there! The rooms were good, spotless clean, comfy beds & pillows & maid service daily. All the staff were fantastic. Would definitely go back.
i should have known better to book a motel but the choices of reasonably priced rooms in PEI is limited. The room was dated and therefore appeared to be a bit on the dirty side. The WiFi in the room was iffy at best. The breakfast had a very limited selection and on a couple of the days the ran out of items half way through the eating time. On a positive note the location was good. if you are just looking for a place to put your head for a night the price is good but we were booked in for 4 nights
The room was very nice. There are self-catering facilities including a microwave, dishes, and a sink to wash it all up. A nice french door to a wee patio at the back of the room with a table and 2 chairs. Lots of nice furniture in the room too. Good large bathroom. Only problem was that the bathroom jutted out so far there was too little room between one of the beds and the wall. And please, people, we need outlets that we can find to charge our devices, and plugs in the sinks. I wear contact lenses and I don't want to lose any down anyone's plumbing! Price was just a pinch too high.
We arrived tonight and couldn't believe the room we were given. It was so bad that we asked to change rooms because of the smell in the room, the large bug we killed in the room, the couch was very old and stained and the mattresses were of such poor quality that you could feel the springs and coils in them. The kitchenette had appliances from the 1970's. We asked at the front desk to change rooms but told we needed to contact hotels.com to make any changes and they didn't have any other rooms. Hotel.com called this chain and they said there was nothing they could do. It was so bad we left the hotel. I wouldn't even give this property a one star. How they charge $170 a night I don't know! The fact they wouldn't give us a refund is incredibly poor business practice. In the end I couldn't let my family sleep here. We left and went to another hotel in the city.
