Casa Melissa is our favorite hotel in Playa del Carmen that we stay every year in last over ten years. It seems they upgraded a lot of things this year and we feel very much home away from home.
Nice little hotel for a couple of nights. Very clean. Lots of shopping and dining options all around. Right next to the beach. Right around the corner from the ADO bus and the cozumel ferry. Pool looked ok but we didnt use it. Some stuff was a little out dated like actual keys to room. Ocean view rooms had a good view of the ocean and pool and the really ugly lot in between the two.
This hotel surprised me. It’s small and they keep it very clean. Staff at desk were helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend for an inexpensive hotel with many conveniences.
Been here over every year, this hotel is at best almost everything compared the others around.

The best attribute of the Casa Melissa is the location. The staff was helpful but the place is cheep with towels only 2 bath towels and one hand towel no wash cloth. The internet is slow and the pool was closed while we were there.
The property is just in the center of everything, close to shops, ferry, ocean. Love it
We’ve been visiting in Playa del Carmen many times staying with different hotels and Resorts for years. Casa Melissa is so far the winner of the most cleanest one among them, friendly staffs are big Plus too. One thing, a electric hot water pot in the guest room missing this year that we need to make tea that made us a little disappointed.
The property location is in a great area. Walking distance to the beach and many restaurants. The park and square is right in front of hotel. The Aldo bus stop is on the corner. So getting from and to airport is easy. There is no road noise as the hotel is off 5th ave. We had an ocean view room on 2nd floor. Room 257 was clean and big. The bathroom is older and didn't have hot water for showers. Balcony was big with 2 plastic chairs and table. Pool is small and no view of water. Wifi is in the lobby so it doesn't reach the rooms. But we were able to use on our balcony. Safety at night is not an issue as the hotel locked up. But you can leave and enter as needed. Front desk was helpful when ever we needed.
Property is close to the beach and 5th Ave. Big thumbs up on that. Big thumbs up on the hotel price per night too.Desk staff does as little as possible for you. Office staff is excellent. Cleaning staff does not replace coffee or towels everyday.
This property is the best of the best in playa del Carmen area that why we stayed 2 weeks each time in last 4 years. Cleanliness was super, the staff personnel’s always smile, friendly and helpful. Location is at center town so it close to everything, and the price is very reasonable. At last, We feel homey when we stayed at the same junior suite every year. Thanks for your courtesy that surprised us.
I liked the location, cleanliness and the staff, the size of the room and that we had a couch and a little table, but the water pressure and temperature was really bad. Room 205
Very convenient location next to EVERYTHING,town,park ADO,everything , hot water has a little to be desired safe was broken but sataffwas very friendly
Perfect hotel for our stay next to everything like taxis, town, beach and ferry.
The hotel is on a very busy street where you'll hear the street performers perform 6 or more times a day....they're on repeat. People outside the hotel approached us to sell us drugs. The hotel is close to the beach, but the beach was so terrible (crowded, loud and full of seaweed). The hotel room was semi-clean at a first glance, the shower water pressure was non-existent, the door lock was not secure, the staff was helpless. We were supposed to be there for 8 days but left after 2. Terrible place, save your money and find a resort elsewhere.
