Room is nice & clean, has a minibar fridge, staff don't know English very well but it's a killer location for the price.

This hotel is definitely outdated, but you will have everything you need. The room was very spacious for European standards, you have many shops and restaurants just steps away, and you are just a short walk away from Louvre and amazing gardens! If you aren't planning to spend most of your time in the room while in Paris, then this is the right choice. The staff was very accommodating and thoughtful. My friend and I were comfortable and happy with this choice.

Couldn't ask for a better hotel and location for the price we paid. One block from the Louvre and Tuileries and lots of great restaurants nearby. Our room and the hotel overall was a little worn (peeling wallpaper, carpet, etc.) but so what. The room was large, clean and comfortable. It has the feel of a classic Paris hotel. The buffet breakfast (12 euro) was decent and a great bargain compared to eating at a cafe. Small fridge in the room if you want to buy food at one of the nearby markets. There is a small hotel bar that doesn't seem to get much business. I think we saw people in there one night during our week long stay. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our week at Normandy Hotel and would stay there again.

Very convenient location. The hotel is older, but that is what you expect when travelling to Paris. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. Not too many frills, but the location could not have been better.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Normandy. Great location, excellent staff, big room. The beds were very comfortable, the view was nice and had all the amenities that we required. The only thing that I could say bad is that I wish that the bathroom was cleaner. The grout needed a good scrubbing and dust had built up on some of the flat surfaces. I will definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in a perfect location for pretty much anything a tourist would want to do and/or see. It's a two minute walk to the metro and there is a great Italian restaurant right across the street. We stayed on the 5th floor and opened up the windows/doors to the balcony where we had wine and watch the traffic go by. While it is a little dated, the Normandy has a certain charm about it. If you are one of those people who needs to sleep in a 5-start hotel, this is not your place. But for those of us who really spend very little time in the room it works out well and is comfortable. We really had no complaints and were there for a week.

My wife and I spent four days at the Normandy. The previous reviews were spot on..... really nice staff, dated furnishings. Overall the experience was fine. The location is really hard to beat. I would stay there again, but I hope that they upgrade the rooms in the future.

The hotel is an older, smaller building, but it is in a fantastic location. The two hotel elevators are narrow, but this is to be expected in an older building. The furnishings are worn, and the rooms are small, however, it was all we needed for a place to shower and sleep during our trip. We visited Oct. 23-28 so the weather was becoming a bit colder. The room was comfortable and warm with the heater and there were adequate linens and blankets as well. Housekeeping kept the room clean, tidy and stocked with toiletries. There was also a mini fridge in our room. Our room was streetside with a balcony and we could hear traffic at night and the occasionaly group of people walking by, but not too late and nothing that kept us awake. We felt quite comfortable and safe during our stay, and the staff was helpful, polite and friendly. We went down to the breakfast buffet three times, and it was adquate for our needs. There was not a lot of variety, but you could make a meal of the fruit, yougurt, breads/toast, pastries and eggs. There was a variety of hot beverages and orange and grapefruit juice. This cost 12 euros, but if you're running late or don't feel like going out for breakfast, it was convenient. They can help arrange a shuttle to the airport for 18 euros/person as well.

All the furniture is from around 1800 and the barbroom whule big in size had a shower built for a grade school size student.

The Hotel Location is great, about 5 minutes walk to Louvre, all the front office staff very helpful, specially Anais. My room was great with 2 big windows, the little noise from the street early in the morning, didn't bother me, the life starts early in down town, the street full of shops, restaurants, coffee shops, they open early cleaning, preparing for a new day, I enjoyed all that just by glancing from the window, first thing in the morning, before touring the amazingly beautiful, Paris.

Stayed at the normandy for a week. Check in and out was quick and easy. Room is full of old paris character with large windows. The room was clean and continued to be cleaned everyday with fresh linens and towel. The best part of the hotel is location. It is close to the louvre, restaurants, tour agency and shopping. All in a 3 minute walk. The hotel has 2 small elevators and serves buffet breakfast. I highly recommend the hotel for those looking for a clean, great location to the sights and shopping.

The hotel has the most fabulous location, we could see Louvre walls from the room, and it definitely was a hip place many years ago I am sure, the room was big, tall, 3 m or so to ceiling, the bathroom was huge, bathtub and shower separate, big double bed... but the furniture was very damaged, pieces of wood missing, some painting would be good, the sink was broken, the tiles... It is a shame because if everything was in the right condition, would have been really beautiful and romantic. We had the superior room, pink/light lavender paper walls, while/pink furniture, even a beautiful chandelier... If they would renovate this place to its former glory would be a huge attraction. The check in was a bit strange in the sense that they printed a reservation with similar name, we complained about it and they just said we will print again, gave us the key BUT was not the room I ordered, so, we had to go back and discuss the reservation type and that we can't take that room... so, they gave us what we ordered but they didn't seem to be pleased with it. Anyway, we were very polite and said thank you for the effort etc, so, no conflict what so ever but would be all much easier if they printed out the exact reservation number, not just look at the family name! We over all loved it, the bed was supper comfortable, the cleanliness was at a good level and had bright white towels, was not bad at all, just old and damaged. For 2 nights and if you are not too sensitive to such aspects, is a great place to be in. We didn't get the breakfast there, so, can't assess that but I heard is actually good, you need to pay 12 euro or so extra if you want it and let the reception know in advance. One of the staff was very nice, he ordered taxi for us twice and tried to calm us down as we thought we were late for the show, we weren't of course but we panicked a little:) Unfortunately didn't get his name, but thank you again if you read this review :)

The room was larger than expected. The staff was friendly and helpful. The hotel is old but charming. It could use a fresh coat of paint. No air condition in room. Cafes next door and grocery store across the street. My room had a mini fridge which was a bonus. Hotel very close to Louvre and a 10 minute walk to galleries Lafayette. Open air tour bus stop right around the corner from hotel.

Fantastic location close to the Louvre and a metro station. Very helpful staff and great breakfast. The wifi was too weak/slow (couldn't watch videos, had problems with Skype), which was frustrating. The building and room were a bit older/beat up, but clean and a good value for the money. Note the room description said there is air conditioning, but my room did not have it -- just a fan.

The location was perfect. Easy walking distance to may attractions and Metro stations. The hotel was charming, giving a real feel of Paris. The staff was very helpful, especially when we had a travel problem.

Great location, great breakfast, nice lobby area. However, room is terrible, paint is peeling, no air condition, no drinking water, no coffee...like 2 star room.

The rooms were not clean, old building. It did have a good location though. Elevator small, if youre looking for modern, this isnt it!

Stayed here for a business meeting in the neighborhood. Great location, but hotel could use painting and freshening up. Also, it's very noisy at night with all street sounds bouncing off buildings. OK for a short stay.

Easy walk from Eiffel Tower. Great jogging map was provided by the hotel for my morning champ de Mars run.

I got a good deal on line for this hotel. The building is very old and needs a serious remodeling. The room I had was not so good for the price I paid but the location is really the best. Its just 3-5 mins from the Louvre Pyramid! So, if you stay for just 1 or 2 nights go ahead! Don't choose the standard room. For few bucks more you won't be under the roof.
