A small hotel in an excellent location that still feels like a neighborhood where people live and work, we loved the easy metro access and ability to walk to so many neighborhoods -- almost at the meeting point of 4 arrondissements (2,3,10 and 11) setting out in a different direction on foot delivers you to distinctly different parts of the city. The decor is stylish without trying too hard, lighting thoughtful, seating comfortable. Having a record player in the room was especially fun and there was a decent selection of records to choose from. The bath was the nicest I've had in Paris, the amenities of quality, breakfast in the restaurant on the ground floor was good though the dining room is a bit dark for the morning hours. We'd have sat outside but for some smoking Brits - less cigarette smoking in Paris than there used to be but more than you'll find in many American big cities now. Staff was helpful before we arrived and throughout our stay - their suggestion that we go to Vivant2 was a highlight of our trip. I'd gladly return.
I was so very looking forward to staying here. I'd booked for the anniversary of meeting my husband, and given to him as a Christmas present. Anticipation was great, especially after reading so many wonderful reviews. I had emailed prior to arrival to let them know we would be arriving earlier than check in time.. 3pm. Was told that shouldn't be a problem, and they would look to expedite the room's readiness. On arriving, about midday, we entered to an empty reception area. We stood for a while, and although staff at bar, no-one one acknowledged us although we tried to get someone's attention. We had quite a few bags, and area was quite cosy. Eventually, (10 mins) a waiter came over, and advised the receptionist would be back soon, and offered a drink. We readily accepted. About 10 mins later the receptionist returned, advising that our room wouldn't be ready until 3pm. We left our bags, and went off to explore. We actually visited Notre Dame, 2 days before the fire. (we saw the smoke from our room) Beautiful. Returning later to check in, all good. We had a Junior Suite with balcony. Was beautifully decorated, cocktail bar, but very small. Definitely not as big as pictures suggest. We came with 2 cases and 2 carry ons, as we were moving to another hotel days later. Nowhere to put cases, and minimal hanging space. Ended up with leaving cases behind door, whivh restricted opening. The most disappointing aspect was breakfast. We came down about 9.30, 10 am, (served till 11am) on 2 days. Both days no member of staff welcomed us, we were left to wander into breakfast area, which was empty of any other diners. Was set up for typical continental style fare, but obviously the early risers had already eaten, and there was minimal food left. We weren't asked if we wanted rea, coffee, we had to grab one of the waiters as they sauntered through the dining area to kitchen, where they were talking loudly to other kitchen staff. Then had to wait about 10 mins. On the third mo, we went elsewhere for breakfast. Just felt a little ignored, and minimal customer experience. Not sure if we came at an 'off time' and our experience was a one off... Just still have a sense of disappointment 😒 Our second hotel was the La Réserve.... And... Well.... Superlatives abound!
HIGHLY RECOMMED!! IF YOU WANT TO STAY IN PARIS IN A HOTEL, WHERE YOU CAN FEEL TRUE PARISIEN ATMOSPHERE, HOTEL PROVIDENCE IS YOUR HOTEL. SPECIAL THANKS TO HOTEL STAFF WHO MADE US FEEL MORE THAN WELCOME AND MADE OUR STAY PERFECT! Beautiful hotel with a great staff. Clean room, beautiful detailed decor. On a quiet street with lot’s of nice little cafes and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious and you can order it to your room. 20 min walks from Notre Dame and lovely Le Marais just around the corner. We will definitely come back.
Have visited their cafe right along with the hotel, grabbed some juce and asked for wi-fi. During the business call their manager has aggressively ask us tohave more orders or to free the place. I understand thw logic, but the manners are too agressive and the clients relations are too pure. One more detail, that menu is so cheep that it even contains no really candidates for ordrer. Remarcable stupidity of the personal.
Hotel Providence was one of the best hotel stays we've ever had! We chose the hotel because of its name (we're from Providence, RI) and location, but we so thrilled to find it exceeded every exception for our last two days in Paris. The staff was so accommodating and sweet, the room was absolutely beautifully designed and spotlessly clean, and the hotel overall was charming, elegantly, and wonderfully located. The metro, Canal St. Martin, and many restaurants and bars were just a quick walk away. We loved it so much that instead of going out on our last night of vacation, we decided to stay in and eat at the hotel restaurant which was wonderful. We can't wait to return again and again.
Hotel Providence, the best way to experience Paris and the french lifestyle, culture and atmosphere! By looking at the location and the facade (with beautiful balconys, windows and all the plants surrounding the hotel) you know you have found a hidden gem. The rooms were very cosy, and the french style carried out all the way. We loved the breakfast and the late night drinks. Playing retro/vintage music from LP records. No need to go out, the bar has it all! The employees were both charming, warm and welcoming, and professional. They arranged everything we needed and were always polite. We travelled as family (sisters) but this hotel fits perfectly for couples, business, solo and along with your friends. Very close to the metro, a nice 20 minute walk to the river and lots of good restaurants and cafes nearby.
I stayed in Hotel Providence in August 2018 with my boyfriend after we found it through Mr and Mrs Smith and what a find!!! Tucked away down a cobbled street is this beautiful, independent boutique hotel. Just off a main road where you can walk to amazing restaurants for Lunch and Dinner and to all the tourist sites. Also, its a 15/20 min walk from Gare du Nord so no uber/taxi needed! The rooms are all individual and beautifully decorated, the staff could not have been more helpful and the bar staff make a great cocktail as a little pre/post dinner drink in the lovely courtyard area. Have recommended to all my friends and family and would only stay here when visiting Paris.
For my wife's 50th birthday I organised a surprise visit to Paris and after a lot of research I settled on Hotel Providence as our place to stay. Obviously you can never be sure of a hotel before you actually stay there. But I need not have worried - as Hotel Providence is simply perfect. In the weeks leading up to the trip I was in contact with Pauline, the manager, to ensure that certain details were in place and she could not have been more helpful. Emails were answered promptly and this gave me confidence that I had chosen the right place. The hotel is in a central location, but because it is set back on a pedestrianised road, it is not noisy. You definitely feel that you are in a city - but you are away from the hustle and bustle. Upon arriving we were upgraded to the classic room, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The attention to detail in the room is staggering and the decor is so tasteful. We dined in Paris for two nights, and although we were intending to venture to other restaurants we dined at the Providence for both evenings - simply because both the food and the service were impeccable. The hotel has a wonderful laid back atmosphere, but there is always someone on hand to assist with anything that you need. If you like large, spacious hotels - do not stay as Hotel Providence, but if you want to experience something completely unique, and stay somewhere that encapsulates the spirit of Paris; stay at Hotel Providence. You will not be disappointed.
A truly stunning hotel. Chic, boutique and classy. The suite on the top floor has the entire floor. Lovely views of sacre couer. Restaurant food superb too. Highly recommended if you want something different but quintessentialy French and chic.
This is perhaps the loveliest hotel I have ever been to in Paris! I have been visiting Paris since my college days 30 years ago. The location, decor, rooms (with outside terraces) are cozy and at the same time elegant. But the very very best part of the experience has been the staff. We are here for New Years and my mom’s birthday. The staff have gone out of their way to make our stay so special and have given my mom a personalized note and also champagne to celebrate. We are here for 2 more nights but I simply couldn’t wait to post a review. The Providence has made this trip one of the best ever! Merci!!
