It was perfect and the hotel is part of a branch that has 7 other hotels which are spread all around Paris and you can have free non alcoholic drinks and snacks from 12-4am which is ideal! the staff was very helpful and nice and the decoration is super cute and french-chic! We will repeat for sure!
I highly recommend this hotel! The service is excellent and the staff is very helpful. Upon arrival, Douglas (front desk staff) walked me through a map of Paris and made lots of good recommendations about getting around. Location is wonderful. There's a wonderful cafe on the block (Bo Man Cafe) that I went to most nights for a glass of wine before dinner, and you're only 3 minutes from the closest Metro station (St. George). Good (safe) location, helpful staff, comfortable rooms. As a solo traveler, this was perfect.
From the start of our mini break right to the end we had first class service from this hotel. The staff are so friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. We got to Paris early morning and although we couldn't book into our rooms until early afternoon they were able to store and lock our luggage away while we went sightseeing. Croissants and coffee was given before we left and tips on the best place to find things. Very close to the metro and moulin rouge it's perfectly situated. Breakfast and soft drinks included in the price and even the bed was comfy. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone it's a little gem! Enjoy!
We wanted to stay in the 9th arrondissement and we came across this hotel with an open bat. This was a fresh concept and we decided to stay here since it was close to the Montmarte area as well as walking distance to L'opera. Its close to 4 metro stations so you can very well reach here by train but we took the taxi from Orly. The hotel is part of the Astotel chain with about 10 hotels on the Right bank of Sienna. The hotel is a cozy building on Bruyere and conveniently located near shops, eating joints and points of interest. The hotel lobby is welcoming with lots of sittign space in the dining area that is well lit by the glass sky roof. The concept is such that you will have access to the open bar in the hotel and all hotels of the chain with snacks and non alcoholic beverages served. If you manage to plan your itinerary on the right bank properly then you can have rest stops at the sister hotels and not end up famished on your walking tours of the city. We arrived at 12 from the airport and were greeted by a very friendly front desk. We had a room on the 2nd floor and were upgraded so it was a good start. The room was cozy and had enough space even after keeping a suitcase outside. The bed was a good queen size and enough sockets in the room with one USB socket as well. The bathroom has a bath and hot water was not a problem. Only quirk was the glass partition on the bath needs to be placed right otherwise the water trickles down outside the tub. Linen was clean and the toiletries were good. House keeping was good and we didnt have any problems with leaving our belongings in the room. There is a safe in the wardrobe. We had booked with a breakfast plan and it came with a complimentary mini bar. It think we were sorted with our food worries atleast for the 1st half of the day. The breakfast is again a spread of cheese, breads, savories and juices. Have the cappuccino which is very filling and we being vegetarians improvised by making sandwiches with the olives, dressings and tomato slices. The staff is polite and helpful and thoughtful with umbrellas available for guests (it did rain during our stay so it was handy). Would recommend staying here if district 9 is your choice. It is 10 minutes walk to Moulin Rouge and 15 minutes to Opera Garnier so you can cover a lot of sights from the place. Great place and keep it up.
We had a great time at Hotel Joyce-Astotel: First of all the people from reception to breakfast area and housekeeping were really polite and friendly and helpful. The room was really clean and large for Paris standard with really comfortable bed. Bathtub was a plus. Free soft drinks in the room! (Room 502) Breakfast was good and we did like the open bar during the day and night. The hotel is also in a great position near Pigalle and St George metro station; From the hotel you can reach with just a ten minutes stroll Montmartre/Sacre Coeur with lots of bars and restaurants or you can reach Opera' and La fayette Magasins on the opposite side. We would highly recommend this hotel for the excellent quality/price ratio.
We stayed for three nights, the rooms were clean and comfortable. A bit small but i guess that is how rooms in Paris are. Loved the breakfast and the open bar, very tasty brownies there. The staff was very friendly, courteous and helpful ! Top marks to them for making us feel welcome. I highly recommend this hotel !
We really enjoyed our stay at the Joyce Hotel. Lovely, clean and comfortable rooms. The staff was very friendly. We are big fans of the breakfast and the 'open bar' concept! Looking forward to stay at another Astotel Hotel.
I was referred to this hotel by a friend who had stayed there previously and although I was debating between hotel Joyce and one of the sister properties ( 123 Sebastopol) I ended up choosing Hotel Joyce because it was more convenient and it would save us some $$$$ and I am soooo glad I did. We took a mother daughter trip to Paris in February ( over valentines week) celebrating a birthday. Up on arrival we were greeted kindly by Douglas who explained everything to us and kept our luggage until our room was ready. Although we had missed the breakfast hour and it was not "open bar" time just yet, they were kind enough to bring us coffee and pastries anyway!!!! We loved the open bar snacks they had available each day and even visited some of the sister properties to see what goodies the put out for us to enjoy. We were happy that the open bar lasted until 2am because some of the evenings when we got back to the hotel late and just needed a coffee or tea boost we didn't need to pay for it!!! it was already there for us to enjoy. The staff is very kind and very helpful and they treated us like family. We were very comfortable with the neighborhood and the location of the metro to the hotel and had no problem coming in late ( although if your coming back late I would suggest you take the St.George station and not pigalle as it is close to the Moulin Rouge and I wouldn't really recommend walking around at night in that area!). There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries etc around and even a grocery store so I would say it is very conveniently located to anywhere you wish to go in central Paris. Our room was small ( as are all rooms in Europe) but comfy for two people... love the décor! room 405 faces the street which is perfect because you get the cute Paris feel and it is far enough from the elevator so you are not bothered by guests constantly. I would say the walls are pretty thick so you cant really hear much and it is very clean!!! The night staff Samuel is so informative and so helpful! He made us feel right at home and in fact every night we looked forward to coming back to the hotel and enjoying a cup of tea as we spoke to Samuel. He provided some great suggestions on where to eat , where to go and we even discussed our potential interest in moving to Paris and he provided some great information. None the less it definitely felt like we had stayed there and knew Samuel like family. He took his time, was patient, a wealth of knowledge ( no seriously he knows everything) ,very professional, welcoming and not to mention impeccable English! Felt like it was our 20th time staying there! We miss Samuel! The hotel manager Marie-Lou is also a superstar. She was pleasant, accommodating and gave some great suggestions as well. Like I mentioned I celebrated a birthday on this trip ( which was a day apart from her birthday as well) and she surprised me with a birthday gift box! It was so thoughtful and it made my trip and stay that much more memorable and pleasant! Thank you Marie Lou you are truly one of a kind! Talking about lasting impressions with the staff at this hotel! The cafeteria/ cleaning staff at this hotel are also one of a kind, they are kind and always smiling and willing to help out although I cant remember the ladies by name I can truly say that they were beyond gracious! The hotel also seemed like it had a lot of " regular" guests from the small sample size we spoke with which says a lot about a hotel that keeps their guests happy regularly! **Warning the elevator at the hotel is very small ( my mom and I, with two full size luggage had some trouble and had to play a bit of tetris to fit in one trip :) ) Hotel Joyce made my birthday trip and the Paris experience that much more memorable for us and I will definitely not only be returning to this hotel but will be recommending it to friends and family!
I can't praise this hotel enough. Every staff member from the front desk to the breakfast staff were incredibly sweet, attentive, and ready to help in any way. Breakfast was included since we booked our reservation in advance - and it was delicious! The hotel is walking distance from two very useful metro stations and located on a quiet street that still feels safe to walk alone at night. I've never had a more enjoyable stay in any hotel - the Hotel Joyce's level of service was really incredible and I long to return to Paris so I can stay here again!
I stayed here with my girlfriend in January when we traveled to france, I would come back to this hotel in the future, It was brilliant! Great rooms good price couldn't really ask for more and amazing staff very helpful
