Please be advised I am not sure how this ever got listed as a bed and breakfast because it is DEFINITELY a hotel and one that DOES NOT serve breakfast at that. The rooms average around$70-75 a night and there are much better deals in town that do include breakfast for $2-5 more a night. This is actually a newly renovated hotel but you wouldn't know it from the room is was in. The ceiling was wet and dripping on the carpet and it wasn't very clean on the grounds. Trash was everywhere. I advise to try a different place.
CONS: Urine smelling bedcover, blood stained towels & roaches. Had my room cleaned and they only made the bed, did not replace towels, sweep or take out trash. When I went to report of the lack of cleaning and to get towels, the lady at the front desk said, " Really? She check off everything on the sheet this morning" If you allergic to smoke, leave the ventilator on in the restroom so your room doesnt smell like smoke from the other rooms. PROS: A place to stay
Hotel is clean and simple. No frills, fancy extras or pressured up sales. Also no extra charge for those things either. I stay out of town on a regular basis for work and have stayed here several times and never have had a problem
My husband and I had a household emergency so we had to stay in a hotel for a couple days. The reviews on the site we booked it through were not THAT bad, plus they have 4 smoking rooms in the hotel and we are both smokers. When we walked in the room it looked outdated and not a hotel we would normally stay at; but, for the "low price" of $89 we thought it might be ok, and it appeared to be clean. We were very wrong!!! The place was filthy, there were cigarette burns all over the blanket and when we went to open the window, there was an inch of dirt and dust on top of the adjustable window. The bathroom was either filthy or permanently stained, but believe it or not, the customer service was even worse. In fact, we were watching TV at a regular volume and we were called and told to turn the TV off because the people next to us had to go to work the next day. We also had to go to work the next day so, it's not like we were throwing a party…we were watching Law &Order. We agreed to turn it down, but we were not about to be told by the front desk attendant that we had to discontinue a service we paid for!!! I had never heard of such a bizarre request. Not only that, we were told we would be asked to leave with no refund if we didn't turn it off. We ended up turning it down and that seemed to be satisfactory, but we could barely hear it and neither of us are hearing impaired in any way! We asked for a late check out of 11:30 am and we started getting knocks on the door starting at 9:00 am by housekeeping telling us we had to leave or we would be charged. The housekeeper was very nice, she was just acting on direction from her boss, but clearly the late check out was not passed along. It was the most most filthy, unorganized unprofessional hotel we had EVER stayed at. You can go to a Motel 6 and get a cleaner nicer room for less $$. Please don't stay here if you can avoid it. It's really that bad!!!
Terrible management! THE FRONT DESK MAN WAS TERRIBLE! Me and my boyfriend needed a place to stay and we asks for non smoking, he said he didn't have any and that the smoking rooms don't smell. He did not show us or let us see the room. We paid and went up. I smelled the room and thought I was going to have an asthma attack! We immediately went back down asking for a refund. He denied it and told us now he has a non smoking room available for more money! He wouldn't give us the $90 dollars back after we were there for 3 minutes. THE PLACE REEKS! THE ROOMS ARE DUSTY AND DIRTY! DONT GO!
This Hometown Inn was absolutely disgusting. Before I went to sleep, I checked the bed just incase. I found 20+ different pieces of hair throughout the bed, all different shapes, sizes, and colors. It was like they didn't clean their sheets in weeks. Lets just say I did not end up sleeping there that night and they had no other room to offer me. Went back in the morning to speak with the manager and they wouldn't give me my money back. This place is unhealthy and needs a health inspection. DO NOT STAY HERE.
This is by far the worst place I have ever stayed they are very rude. First they tell me I can have people here till 12 then they told me 10, and then 9:30 and when I asked her why the times keep changing she basically called me a liar and said she told me 9:30, this place is disgusting, they clean the rooms for 2 seconds and leave, bed sheets won't be change, bathroom won't be cleaned nothing , I would never stay here again.
I check in for a week stay on day three noticed a bug on my pillow went to get the owner and show her they stripped my bed and offered to switch my room. I said no thank you it was a bed bug I contacted health department also ask for my money back they said they would give a discount what a joke never again
We checked in early because we were on our way to Chicago and weren't sure how late we would return. When we did return, we found that only one lamp in the room worked. We obtained some light bulbs from the front desk and then found that one lamp had a short circuit. The room was fairly clean, but not spotless. The shower had mold/mildew above the shower head. We checked out early morning and went on our way. I guess the price was okay for the area, but I would pay a little more the next time and stay somewhere else.
This hotel is family owned and operated. They have no huge advertising, no fancy amenities like the national chains. The prices are lower. No free continental breakfast. (Have you ever had a decent continental breakfast in a hotel?) There are many places nearby that serve breakfast anyway. The room I stayed in was nice & clean. They do charge you when you check in. On check out, you leave your room key at the front counter--a self-check out. This hotel is good if you dont like dealing with high-pressure sales people at hotels.com, who jack-up the price in advance, then sell rooms at a "discount", which is really no discount at all! I plan to stay here again in the future. Location is on route 30 and keep in mind there will be some traffic noise.
