I have made multiple trips to NYC over the last 4 years. This is my favorite hotel in NYC now. This was my first stay but I will definitely choose this hotel next time. The room is quite spacious with a large bathroom. The bed was very comfortable. This area of town is a good central location.

Had an amazing stay at the Kitano. My only regret is that I couldn't stay longer.

From the minute we arrived at the hotel our stay was great. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We had a couple special requests and they were able to met our needs. The room was a good size for NYC, very clean and well maintained. I would stay here again. It is close to Grand Central Station too which was nice. The Jazz club was fun and the food was very good as well.

Booked a room at the Kitano Hotel on a last minute basis and was glad I did ! Great location, super quiet room, comfortable bed, nice staff, and all at a very fair rate. Would certainly stay again.

Very good location for a quieter, out-of-the-chaos stay. Easy access to uptown & downtown. Good sound proofing for a quiet night's sleep. Unfortunately, there were inattentive doormen, oversized furniture in double room, charge for use of the Business Center ($8.00 for 15 minutes). Would have liked complimentary coffee in the lobby. Would recommend for location.

The hotel was a pleasant surprise. The room was large by NY standards and very quiet with a great view of the Empire State Building. Staff were very attentive and extremely polite, and everything was clean and in tiptop shape. Only complaints would be the small pillows (which we never complained about) and only instant coffee in the rooms. Japanese toilet was a new experience, and nice amenities (bathrobe, slippers, shoe brush, umbrella, etc) were provided.

Great location, large rooms for NYC. quiet location.

My friends and I were in NYC for a girls weekend. I picked this hotel because of it's location, price, and overall ratings. We couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The weekend turned out to be a very rainy one. But the doorman was available outside with a huge umbrella anytime we needed to hail a cab, saving us from getting soaked. The rooms were spacious for NYC. And the bathrooms had toilets with heated seats, which was a plus when coming in from the cold. All in all, a wonderful experience.

Had a lovely stay. Room was comfortable and quiet. Great location. Just far enough, but still walking distance into Mid-Town. I'm a tea lover, so nice to have Japanese tea each morning in my room.

Well located very comfortable. Quiet room as requested. A good choice.

The location was great and the staff were pleasant, but they need to fix the basics before doing anything else. The heating did not work properly so we had to sleep with the windows open in winter to try and cool the room down. It made it very hard to control the temperature and the noise was a problem with open windows. They told us about the problem when we checked in and their only solution was to open the windows. They had placed duct tape over the vents to try and help, but it didn't work. The beds were worn out and sloped toward the sleeping on a hill. Everything else was very nice. I would never stay here for full price, but if you can get %50 off or more and you are flexible travelers the location is great.

The nicest thing about this hotel is that it is vvery clean and quiet. the location is less than ideal because there are not a lot of restaurants in the immediate area. the worst thing is that this hotel advertizes having a fitness room, BUT there is NOE on premises and the one they offer is several long blocks away. This needs to be fully diclosed; doesn't work for a busy person on business needing a convenient place to exercise, or for anyone on cold days.

The Kitano is really lovely & I was surprised to get a room "upgrade" to a larger suite with a couch & seat. The room has heated towel rack, robe, slippers, hot tea pot - Just be careful if you hook up for wi-fi/internet - Accidentally bought service for a hotel across the street (so many hotels close together) - The Kitano hotel wifi is per device & when prompted, the charge will be added to your room bill (If you are asked for a credit card #, then it's for another hotel)

Nice hotel. Loose manhole cover on 38th street needs attention to stop the thumping. They deep fry the breakfast bacon, I prefer it grilled.

We had enjoyed walking around NYC as well as shopping. The location of the hotel was good and convenient for us as it was near to Grand Central Station. It's also nice that Japan TV was available to watch at free of charges in the hotel room.

We will never forget the readines to immidiate help and support during hurricane Irene.

My husband and I were in town for a family event. Hotel location was great--a short walk to Grand Central station. Hotel was clean and quiet.

This was special trip to NYC for my wife and I. It was a combination of birthday's, an anniversary, a very belated honeymoon, and the first visit to NYC for my wife. The Kitano is a few blocks from Grand Central, so getting around NYC was easy. Our room was on the sixth floor overlooking Park Ave. We were amazed at how quiet it was. One thing my wife noted was how clean the room was compared to other highly rated hotels. Both the rugs and the bathroom was spotless, no signs of residue from previous occupants. The only negative item was noise from the hallway easily filtered into the room, but most guests were quiet so it wasn't a big problem. We are planning future trips back to NYC and will seriously consider staying at The Kitano again.

We enjoyed a long weekend in New York City including a Broadway musical, the nearby public library, the Gugenheim museum, Tenement Museum, Top of the Rock observation deck, Pete's Tavern and shopping at Macy's. Our stay at the Kitano Hotel provided the quietest room ever in any city; very clean, tastefully decorated with high quality amenities, deep soaking tub, super soft pillows, comfy bed, in room tea maker, everything we needed and more. We will return and highly recommend this calm oasis in the big noisy city; lots of Japanese charm and gracious service from all employees. Good location.

friendly, wonderful location and quiet hotel. The room was spotless and the staff was extremely helpful.
