This past weekend, we rented the entire place for a friend’s surprise birthday. We stayed 3 nights. Raul and Liz were incredible hosts. The building and rooms are so beautiful and unique. The beds are comfy. Our group of 15 was a mix of couples, singles, and a family with a small child, and the rooms were outfitted to suite everyone. Fabulous roof deck, and a short Lyft ride or walk to anything you want to see in New Orleans. Recommend without hesitation and will definitely stay here again next time we travel here!

15 of us met here from several different states. We filled the whole place, so there weren’t other folks we didn’t know staying there. We had one toddler and a range of other adult ages. It was ideal for our purposes—comfortable and plenty of areas for hanging out when we wanted to relax, convenient for getting into the French Quarter and to other locations. The owners/innkeepers did a great job of rehabbing it, very charming and authentic, not pretentious. Interesting details and architectural features. They were helpful and gracious hosts, gave us plenty of privacy but always available to help. I highly recommend it for groups!

My husband, Brett and I, stayed for a couple of days at the Old Jail. It is a fantastic place; so much history! We felt very comfortable here. There is even a full kitchen with a huge fridge for use by the guests. Be sure to sit with Liz and let her tell you how this restoration took place. It is truly an amazing story. Within walking distance of several places to eat. Liz and Raul were very accommodating and gracious hosts.

Liz and Raul, owners, were the best hosts! They truly made us feel welcomed and you can tell they are very proud of the service they provide. They were very knowledgeable with area, it's history, and gave good recommendations of where to visit. After having spent 5 days at a "chain hotel", staying at the Inn at the Old Jail was a perfect way to spend the last 3 and half days of my vacation. I found myself wanting to return from sightseeing just to spend time in the comfy space at the Inn. Not too far from the French Quarter, but away enough from all the traffic of downtown. Highly recommend! ~Camille

The Inn at the old Jail was such a beautiful place to stay. Liz and Raul were the absolute best hosts. Very courteous. This place comes with amazing history and tons of charm! Very convenient to the downtown area.

My 9 year old son and I spent a weekend in New Orleans and picked the Inn because of its uniqueness. We were not disappointed! It is fabulous! Liz and Raul have put so much time, attention, and LOVE into the renovation of this historic building, and it shows. You are greeted with big smiles and after check-in, Liz will take you on a historic tour and it's fascinating. After our tour, she apologized for taking up so much of our time and my son told her he could have listened to her talk all day. It is so interesting! The attention to detail is overwhelmingly beautiful, and Raul is quite the craftsman. We stayed upstairs in the Mayor's room and loved the antiques, the large windows, and the big bathroom! Liz does everything she can to make sure your stay is the best it can possibly be! We will definitely be back!

A wonderful stay at a special place. The old jail is a historic building with a lot of history. The super friendly and helpful owners Liz and Raoul can tell you all about it. The beds and facilities are great. It’s very clean. The old jail also has a nice deck were you can sit and relax and een kitchen you can use. It’s located in the old Treme neighborhood with al lot of nice buildings and things to see. It’s about a 30min wall or 10min bike ride to the French quarter. This lovely place made our trip to NOLA even better and if we ever come back we will stay here again!

Liz and Raul did an excellent job renovating this historic building. They were so gracious to my daughter and I. We had a lovely stay and enjoyed their company and the accomodations. Will definitely plan another stay thete

Raul and Liz renovated a neighborhood icon into an authentic New Orleans destination!!! I recently returned to New Orleans for a visit and was mesmerized by the historic renovation of the Old Jail. I have a serious soft spot for NOLA and all her neighborhoods and was so impressed with the live that the owners have for theirs and how their vision and hard work transformed a vacant dilapidated landmark in the community into a lovely respite for guests. Raul' s attention to detail and design of the space really brings guests together or not depending on your mood. There is a terrific roof top deck, and common kitchen that are gathering places. The kitchen is modeled after one you would find in a 5 star dining establishment. There is a reach in cooler {fridge}, commercial gas stove, great industrial island, coffee maker, microwaves, complimentary chilled bottles of water, and all the tools necessary to whip up your own Gumbo. The beds are high end and provide an excellent nights sleep. The bathrooms en suite are well designed and the rooms are well furnished but also roomy with super high ceilings and excellent air conditioning. Liz and Raul do everything in their power to make guests feel welcome and to make their stay a very comfortable one. For example my cousin didn't have a toothbrush because her luggage was delayed...Raul gave her one. Liz messaged me as a courtesy the day I was arriving for an ETA to ensure that she was at the Inn to welcome me herself. The day of our departure she woke up extra early to ensure that we had coffee for the road. There was fresh fruit available every morning for breakfast during our 4 night stay and our room was efficiently made up by the time we returned from our outing in the city. All of that said....what really hooked me was their love for their Treme neighborhood. They love their neighbors and know them by name. The owners watch out for them and are genuinely concerned for the well being of their community. I encourage you to take the time and listen to their story and absorb the thought and consideration put into the Inn at the Old Jail. It's a moving one. BRAVO LIZ AND RAUL. KEEP UP THE OUTSTANING WORK.

I adored my stay here. I was delighted by the idea of staying at an old, renovated jailhouse — and it didn't disappoint. From top to bottom, the Inn has been treated with loving care and attention to detail. It's gorgeous, the kind of stunning renovation I've dreamed about doing myself. My friend and I stayed in Cell Block B (^_^), a huge, beautiful room with lots of natural light and the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in while traveling. The room has no TV, but that was totally fine with us. In addition to being a beautiful building, the owners of the Inn are wonderful people, great to talk to and fun to be around. I will say one thing about the neighborhood — if you're coming into the hotel at night for the first time, it can seem a little sketchy (and I was definitely worried for a moment). But the next morning in the sunlight, it's a quaint, delightful neighborhood and seemed like a good, safe place to be. All about the perspective there. To sum up, I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
