Every Ritz hotel we have stayed in has been entirely superb. The rooms have always been very clean, the staff are always excellent and the food is great. This Ritz has perhaps set a new bar for us. This was our first visit to Montreal and it is an amazing cosmopolitan city worthy of many and longer visits with its rich 375 year history. A real gem. The Ritz-Carleton Montreal is as good or better than all the RC hotels we have stayed at and those have been excellent. The hotel had a four year refurbishment completed a few years ago meaning the technology in and the condition of the rooms is amazing. The staff were friendly, efficient and skilled providing perfect personalized service. We felt at home here. It is charming 5 star boutique hotel. The 1st RC hotel in North America I believe. Our one bedroom suite had sparkling water and fresh fruit waiting for us. Our requests for customized food (we are fussy eaters), reservations, cars were never a problem and just happened effortlessly . The Palm Court is an amazing room to have a late snack in or to have a glass of Dom in the Dom-Perignon bar. Our experience could not have been better. We can't wait to go back. Perhaps I have not been to near enough RC hotels to declare a winner but I we are going to be sure to sample more. Being priced in Canadian dollars is a bonus compared to Euros, pounds or US dollars.
Mr. Di Re and his team offer a polished and outstanding experience. From the moment you check in to the time you leave, all the staff know who you are and what you need before you ask. The Ritz is the place to be in Montreal.
Unfortunately we were a bit let down by this hotel. The rooms were nice , however, one of our rooms was under an access point to some pipes or wires which were very noisy. We complained and someone came to fix them, however, within an hour or so the noise started again and someone was sent back to fix it. We had also requested a room away from the lifts and service cupboards, however, we were given rooms directly across from the service cupboards and near the lifts. This meant that our rooms were very noisy. We were eventually offered other rooms after a few days into our stay, however, by that point we couldn't really be bothered moving as we only had a few days left. There were no mirrors in the bedroom which I found really annoying as it made it difficult to get ready if someone else was in the bathroom. We planned to eat in the restaurant one evening, however, the menu wasn't great and the decor was quite shabby so we decided to just have a drink instead. On a more positive note, toto the toilet in the bathrooms is brilliant. The bathrooms in the lobby should have these too. I did notice that the lobby bathrooms are really run down and not what you expect in a five star hotel. We also liked the lobby bar and actually ate here one night. The bar snacks are really good! It would be great if this area was a lot bigger to allow for more people to have a drink. We went to the spa one day which was great. They knew it was my mums birthday and very kindly gave us all a free glass of prosseco. When we returned to our rooms the hotel staff had also sent my mum a bottle of prosecco to celebrate. The staff also went out of their way when we queried why the outside bar wasn't open. That evening the staff set up some tables outside so we were able to sit there. Overall mixed feeling about this hotel.
Everything here is top notch. Rooms, common area, pool, and restaurant are wonderful and extremely well maintained. The staff is genuinely caring and efficient. Location is great. This is a spectacular hotel in one North Americas most pleasant city. Highly recommended!
Our family had the most fabulous stay at the Ritz. The rooms were gorgeous, the staff was incredibly helpful. The concierge was very helpful in planning activities. We would love to stay here again. The Ritz was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed at.
We rented a suite for my birthday. It had 2 large rooms and the living room had a fireplace. The staff was over-the-top courteous and friendly. They even gave me a chocolate mousse cake for my birthday. The bathroom was large and spacious as well. The view was of Mount Royal. The first day it rained so we had room service dinner next to the fireplace. I simply can't say enough nice things about his hotel. They recommended a great driver who took us everywhere.
One of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. The service, hospitality, and facilities were beyond excellent. The rooms were perfectly sized and exquisitely appointed. The bathroom made me dread going back to my pedestrian bathroom at home.
Best Ambiance, great location, lots of food, great wine, very good brunch, succulent burgers and very romantic bar. Amazing cocktails, beer, and spirits. Beautiful outdoor area with pond, ducks, and stream.
This was our first trip to Montreal and chose this hotel based on reviews I read on line. On the way to the hotel, the driver explained to us that there are 2 "down towns" - the old and the new - and that the RC was in the newer part of town. I was kicking myself for not researching this hotel more as we usually like to stay in older parts of the towns we visit. The disappointment did not last as we were welcomed at check-in so warmly - I did a big exhale. We were a family of 4 and had reserved one room with 2 large beds but as we had been on the road for a while, we all felt like we needed some extra space. The front desk staff were wonderful in finding us another room, at the last moment, for our teens and although at this late stage we couldn't get inter-connecting rooms, they found a room for them on the same floor as ours. They also price-matched what we had reserved weeks ago! The rooms are lovely with spacious, bright bathrooms and heated toilet seats (!). We were even welcomed with a note in the room in our native language plus fruit and cookies for the teens. We did eventually make it down to the old part of town and although it is lovely down there, I was happy to be staying where we were with all the art galleries etc. I really cannot find one bad thing to say about our stay. Would definitely stay here again - in fact I'm secretly hoping one of my children go to college there so that it would give me an excuse to come back to the Ritz Carlton, Montreal.
I had a lovely stay at the Ritz for three nights. Unfortunately, my friend could not make it which was very disappointing for me but thankfully the Ritz provided such wonderful service. This really made my stay a lot more comfortable and I felt taken care of. When I first entered a wonderful man named Fausto brought me water and a towel and then helped me bring my luggage to my room. I was so tired but I had a lovely conversation with Fausto. Everyone at the front desk is very nice and sweet, answering questions in a nice manner. I ordered room service for breakfast two days in a row and talked to the same lady who remembered my breakfast order. She was so pleasant! I enjoyed leaving little notes on my breakfast table to show my appreciation for the staff. All the encounters I had with staff were very warm and welcoming. Our room also received a nice gift from Audrey - which really started my trip off nicely! The room was very beautiful and nice with super comfortable beds, which added to a an even better conference. I would definitely recommend the Ritz in Montreal and would like to stay here in the future for my annual Montreal trips!
