There was a leak in the closet that got onto my clothes. The front desk person was not helpful at first and somewhat rude. Maintenance fixed the leak but turned off the AC without notifying me. I asked to be contacted by a supervisor repeatedly (none were on duty (??), and no one has contacted me.

The staff was superb in every way but the hotel needs serious updating. The phones have no guides to get room service, the front desk had to write down the order and deliver it. The heat wasn’t on, the streets below were unbelievably noisy, the water didn’t heat beyond lukewarm, the shower wasn’t draining fast enough and I found myself ankle deep. For what I paid, I was shocked. It might be a grand old dame for Old Montréal but it definitely needs updating. The real plus was a superb front desk staff.

Nice hotel.
The property is under renovation so they are doing work in the building. It’s a bit noisy and the have cladding in the elevator to protect the walls from equipment. There is also a lot of construction in the neighborhood. Get past this and you have an excellent hotel. It’s always been a favourite. Close to nice restaurants and the staff are professional.

Lovely hotel in great location. The room was comfortable and clean. Most of the staff was friendly and professional with the exception of the guy I checked in/out with. His demeanor seemed nicest when interacting with other guest. Overall, i would recommend this hotel.

Excellent experience! Unexpectedly my flight to New York got canceled and the plane landed in Montreal. Nice area, great staff, and comfy hotel made me feel better. Also, an amazing valet guy (I don’t remember his name) offered a jacket and umbrella which I could not get out without them. It was -4 degree and snow storm, but I walked around the area and enjoyed art galleries.

We loved the staff and the room. The dumpster was in the alley right out our window, so the garbage crew woke us up every morning, and the bathroom above our room leaked into our bathroom ceiling one evening. Other than that, no complaints. The location was also excellent for walking around town.

We arrived very late because our flight was delayed. The hotel staff were amazing and the chef was willing to cook ribs and fries for us even though the kitchen and restaurant was closed. Thank you for the friendly welcome and amazing hospitality.

Hotel Nelligan in Old Montreal
Hotel Nelligan is the best location for a stay in old Montreal. The staff are very attentive and service oriented. The hotel is in need of some sprucing up but the rooms are huge and very comfortable, so I still view this hotel as a great choice for a stay in the vieux cartier.
