Great hotel! Attentive staff, great location and room.

I absolutely loved this hotel! I stayed here with a friend of mine for just a few nights, and honestly it was exactly what we were looking for. There was an extremely cozy atmosphere as soon as you walk in and the rooms were all decorated so nice. They felt a lot more unique than staying at your typical Holiday Inn, Marriott, etc. All those big hotel chains start to look the same after awhile. So many great amenities! Regular parking and valet (paid per day, not included in room rate), full restaurant and bar, within walking distance to many historic sites as well as bars, bakeries, bistros, art galleries, and so much shopping! One of the main reasons we decided to stay here was the parking the hotel offered. If you are driving to Montreal you will have to pay hourly or daily for parking, and it is not easy to navigate the small streets with lots of people walking around. The hotel offers a valet parking service where you can come and go as you please. You just have to call down to the front desk and let them know you would like to use your vehicle and they bring it right our front to you. The day we checked out (at 12pm), they even let use leave our vehicle at the hotel, after check out, while we walked around and did some more exploring in Montreal. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting a more unique experience than your regular hotel chain! Great location, great staff! Would definitely stay here again!

Hotel was wonderful, clean and staff was friendly. Area nice and restaurants/pubs/cafe's galore.

The hotel itself is very charming & quaint, fitting perfectly with its surroundings in Old Montreal. The front desk staff is excellent, kind, informative, patient, &helpful. The Chambre restaurant staff was good. Sadly the lobby lounge & rooftop staff were slow & not very helpful, though still nice. With all that I'd give the hotel a pretty strong rec. Our issue was the room. We paid more for a superior room. Can't put my finger on it but it felt eerie/strange in there. Almost wish we had just taken the smaller room & saved money. Parts of the room are cute (the brick walls & french windows -- which are not french balconies, as we were led to believe). Parts of it feel like a monastery. Terrible lighting, which takes away from the rest of the charm. The bed is just ok on comfort; pillows are terrible. I usually love hotel beds & pillows, but for the 1st time in a long time, I woke up 3 consecutive days with horrible neck pain. Now comes the real complaint: the bathrooms. Weird lighting for getting ready (especially if you have to do your hair/face in there.) Worst of all was the shower. Took 25 mins (no exaggeration) to solve the water temperature problem while standing in the shower freezing. Caught a cold. Too hot, move the nozzle 5 degrees, too cold, back 2 degrees, burning hot, back 1 degree, freezing. Thought I had it figured out the 2nd day but different temperatures worked after 15 mins. Also bad water pressure. Quite unpleasant getting ready. But the hotel was cute.

cozy hotel centrally located to many restaurants, cafes, shopping, and only a few blocks from the metro. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. They helpful and patient getting us directions or making dinner reservations Would love to return someday to this comfortable, cozy hotel

Great location on one of the best streets in the old town. Lots of restaurants and boutiques and only a block from the water. Terrific concierge Francois, helpful whether looking for places in old town or downtown. My wife said it was the most comfortable bed she has ever slept in. Cab fare to downtown area around the Museum of fine arts and high end shopping area about $11 CAD. Can walk there in about 45 minutes.. Hotel has two onsite restaurants, one more formal than the other, but both were excellent, and the rooftop terrace was excellent for drinks. Excellent choice of hotel.

The Hotel was located perfectly and in Old Montreal. Which was essential since it was over 85 degrees each day. We had a room not facing Rue Paul so it was a bit less noisy. The staff was excellent and they provided good information for good restaurants very near the hotel. Liked the idea of having a roof-top bar located at the hotel, but the wait and bar staff were not professional. We would recommend the hotel to friends.

Long weekend getaway, arrived at the hotel staff was very friendly had dinner the first night at the hotel fabulous. Took a carriage ride tour around old Montreal and a tour of the Basilica, did a lot of walking everyone was very friendly I would definitely love to Go back again.

This hotel was a recommendation from a friend that really and knows about fine and boutique hotels, so my expectation was already high. This hotel was fantastic! Food was great, service impeccable, location is perfect and the place and rooms are beautiful and comfortable.

We had a wonderful weekend stay at Hotel Nelligan. It was our first trip to Montreal and the location was perfect! The hotel was lovely and had a wonderful bar to relax in after a long day of touring. Very friendly and professional staff. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed and linens were first class. We'd stay there again when in Montreal.

This was my wife and my second stay at the nelligan, we decided to get a king suite and it was perfect. The room was a great size, nice bathroom, brick walls, it was really beautiful. The only complaint I have is that when we checked into our room it was very cold as the heat wasn't on, and had to get maintenance to come in twice to get it fixed, so we were in a cold room for the first day.

It was too short! lots of fun! Came from LA for a night to see my boyfriends play. Great location. Nice staff.

Just got back from a stay at Hotel Nelligan, and we couldn't be happier. The hotel itself is beautiful with large, comfortable rooms. We stayed in a Petit Suite, and the room design and amenities were well thought out with plenty of space. All of the service is amazing here - valet, front desk, room service, housekeeping staff. We didn't get to try the terrace due to weather. There is a club across the street so try to get a high floor if you're a light sleeper. It wasn't a problem for us. The location of the hotel can't be beat. It's right in the middle of Old Montreal, and if you're staying around Montreal, a car isn't necessary!

We went to Montreal for a weekend getaway from Chicago. Spent three nights at the Hotel Nelligan in the heart of Old Montreal. The location is great. The rooms (we had a Petite Suite) have a very modern yet comfortable feel. The concierge was very helpful to suggest restaurants and shopping outside of the main tourist areas. We did hear a bit of street noise from our room and the walls weren't very soundproof. The Terrasse on the 5th floor is very nice for a drink and the view. I wouldn't want my room to the be on the 5th floor, however, as I suspect people coming and going to the Terrasse would be pretty noisy.

The staff was friendly and accommodating, the room was a very nice size, the concierge was helpful and knowledgeable, the public spaces were pretty. Great location if you want to be in old Montreal, around te corner from notre dame and the pier.

Staff was super helpful. Hotel room was clean and comfy and restaurant/bar served up great food and drink.

We booked a last minute weekend at Hotel Nelligan - we needed a Hotel that could accomodate the needs of 3 generations a teenager, grandparents and parents. We were able to get a rooms for all of us. We loved the location of the hotel right in the Old City of Montreal steps away from the Port and many fun resturants. We were in Montreal to visit McGill University which wa a short car ride away. The staff at Nelligan was super helpful in setting up dinner reservations, driving instructions in Montreal and helping us reserve the best rooms. This would have been a perfect stay for us if the room price included both breakfast and parking.

In the heart of old Montreal. Many restaurants pubs nearby. Near the Basilica of Notre Dame and very friendly staff

The Nelligan is fabulous and well worth the rate. The only criticism I can offer is there is no coffee maker in the room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Nelligan! The place has charm and the staff are superb. The location is one of the best in the old town.
