a very nice wine and cheese happy hour, the rooms are always very clean, this location is great when going for a walk.

Room was nice but the pillows were too hard therefore not a good night's sleep

Great location, very walkable. The gas fireplace was HUGE when the power went out. We used to dry our clothes, keep warm, and light the room. Awesome amenity. Unfortunately, we faced the street which had some noise, with the back of an ugly building. They really should/need to renovate the bathroom. I liked that the floor was laminate rather than the usual carpeting everywhere.

This is a decent place to stay close to the marine

Pros: Very close to Cannery row. Free breakfast, which will save you money, as it can get expensive eating out. The appearance of the room was neat, housekeeping was great. Fireplace, Mini fridge, coffee maker & free wifi. Cons: rooms had an old musty smell, walls and floor/ceiling are very thin; if there are people in the room above you, you will hear every step as a stomp. The entrance to the parking structure is horrible, we own a standard height car and cringed anytime we had to leave the parking garage as it would scrape the undercarriage with no mercy. At over $200 a night you're paying for convenience of being near the aquarium, but we found out by exploring a little more that there are more options, at night, for food and drinks near Alvarado St. I can not say that this Inn is horrible, but I do feel comfortable saying it needs a slight update. If your main purpose for visiting Monterey is for Aquarium & Cannery Row and you can afford over $200 a night go for it. Some people might not be bothered by the same things I was bothered by.

I wasn't aware there was no air conditioning in this hotel and it was a very hot day. Even with 2 fans, it took a long time for the room to cool down. In addition, the water in the shower would fluctuate in temperature. I will no go back to this hotel.

The rooms are nicely renovated and the staff was friendly. The location is nice and walkable to Cannery Row. Didnt love having to pay $15/day for parking, and also the bathrooms were NOT renovated...and show the (literal) cracks in an otherwise fairly nice place. The bathroom just felt small and kind of grimy, although I do think it was clean. The shower was also strange...two shower heads and water comes out of both and you can't control it. They do a nice wine and cheese hour as well as breakfast, which was also nice.

Very nice overnight stay with easy parking for additional $15 or $20. Breakfast in main building included. Quick walk to restaurants and aquarium. Wine and cheese reception each day.

Very clean, very nice staff, and over the top continental breakfast.

This hotel was nice, clean, typical breakfast. The only negative was the noise. Our room was on the street side and the traffic noise was very loud at night.

No good servic !whren i was in your hotel , electric out evry 10-15minut , You need see, whre are problems! You have same servic so good , like brakfast so nice , pepoles are in riceptions ... Very active ,,,

Friendly staff. Clean rooms. Breakfast good. Location is excellent for aquarium and cannery row.

Hotel staff was just fine. Hotel was a perfect location for or trip.

I had a great experience staying in this hotel, great location, beautiful, cozy room. I loved the fireplace!!!!

I would recommend this hotel for a very comfortable place to stay close to Cannery Row and the Aquarium. Our room was very nice with a fireplace and a little balcony with a table and chairs. They had a nice wine and cheese hour in the afternoon and complimentary breakfast.

The Victorian Inn has spacious clean rooms that have all of the amenities that you would need while visiting the Monterey/Cannery Row area. The breakfast included eggs, sausage, cereals, juices, coffee and tea. Also the afternoon wine and cheese hours were enjoyed and appreciated. It is within easy walking distance to Cannery Row shopping, restaurants and attractions. Parking on premises is included and readily available. A good choice!

Loved this hotel. Great staff at check in. Comfortable room. I'm to been unusually warm on our trip up the coast. Hotel doesn't have a/c, but the room cooled off nicely with a small open window. Heard sea lions in the distance - made it my favorite night of the trip

Husband and I stayed here overnight, it was a bit expensive but was nice. We arrived earlier than check in time and was checked in. Husband emailed them before we arrived and told them it was my birthday and they brought up a bottle of wine, chocolate, and a note wishing me a happy birthday, even though I don't drink it was a very nice gesture. The bed was soft but comfortable we're used to a firm bed. The room was nice and clean. The refrigerator was nice and cold, a microwave would've been great, a foot stool or something to put up your feet would also be nice, and a bigger table to eat at. The Continental breakfast was good a lot better than the place we stayed at last time. The only bad thing I have to say is we had ordered a couple hamburgers from there room service pamphlet that we were disappointing, the hamburgers weren't cooked the way we asked and were very greasy. Other than that our stay was great and if the price was right we would stay again.

The Best Western Victorian Inn is a cute little hotel about one block from Cannery row and very close to all of my fav Monterey Fine Dining restaurants and the aquarium. The property's location and the value for the rate were 5 stars. A private parking garage was also a nice bonus and only cost $15 per day. We brought our fur baby with us and really appreciated the pet-friendly environment at the hotel. One disappointment was that the booking website doesn't allow for you to select any options to bring your pet along and pre-pay pet fees. The pet fee at this hotel is $30 per night and has to be paid when you arrive. I also had to call in advance to tell the hotel that I was bringing my pet and they had to switch our room to a bottom floor unit because those are the only rooms available for pets. This could be a problem if you book a room on a booking site and all of the bottom floor rooms are already reserved, so book well in advance and call ahead if you plan on bringing your pet. The property is clean and well kept. The rooms are set up nicely with a good amount of space to spread out and patio/balcony areas are a nice touch to sit outside and relax or open the sliding door to get fresh air (which we needed badly- more on that in a moment). There is no air conditioning and because of this the room was quite humid and warm during the day. The ceiling fan didn't go very fast and did little to cool the space and since we were on the first floor with a shared patio area with other guests, I just did not feel comfortable sleeping with the door open. The bed was comfortable and fluffy and the linens were clean, however, my biggest disappointment with the room and experience was the smell inside of the room. The room had a very strong urine smell. I considered calling the front desk and asking for another room but decided not to as we were only there one night and it was a room specifically for pets and so I figured all of the pet rooms had this stench. The smell was really strong but got slightly better after we opened the sliding door and let it air out for a few hours. The room definitely needed a DEEP steam cleaning. I have stayed in more costly hotels (the Hyatt, the Ritz, etc) with my pet and have never run into a smell problem before but those rooms were also 3 times more expensive. Overall we were most happy with our rate and the location. We would stay here again but in the future if we stay longer and the smell is as bad I will say something next time. My dog is potty trained and I don't have to worry about him doing his business inside, maybe they would've made other accommodations if I had asked. I just didn't want to be bothered with it on such a short trip.

Overall, this hotel is great. We have stayed there several times because of the great location and excellent staff. My only recommendation would be to request a room away from the street. It can be noisy. Other than that, the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast is adequate and the staff is very helpful and courteous.
