Stayed with a hockey team for 2 nights. No issues, my only interaction with staff was to get get directions. When I checked out they thanked me for staying, asked me to stay again next time I was Moncton. I looked at my credit card a week later and noticed 2 days after I checked out, I had an almost $150 fee from them. When I called to inquire as to why, they told me that because there was a noise complaint against some of my teammates (not in my room), their solution was to indiscriminately charge every person on our team this fee. They refuse to refund it, and seem to think it is my job to find out the guilty party to pay me back. Even though when I call they tell me they have logs of times and room numbers for the complaints (and admit none were to my room, and that no one spoke to me), and that they have cameras showing the alleged "dispute" or "disruptive behavior". I gave no consent for this charge, they just added it on a few days later without any communication. I would recommend you stay at a different place than Crown Plaza that has the decency and professionalism to reach out to inform you of something like this, and not try to sneak it through your credit card a couple days later.
I can't tell you how disappointed I am with my recent stay at the crowne plaza in Moncton. The room was not clean, and I was unable to change rooms. My few interactions with management were awful, and at one point outright insulting. I can't express this enough, save yourself some hassle and stay elsewhere.
Stayed at the crown plaza Moncton with an organization for an event being held in Moncton. We all booked and paid separately but booked under the organization name to have a slightly reduced rate. I stayed in a room alone and didn’t make any noise or disturbance and checked out without an issue. Once home, I noticed an extra charge on my credit card of $150. I called and they said because they received noise complaints about several people within the group from being up late in the lobby one night, they decided to charge everyone in the group for a 1 night stay. I explained I was not present for any of this and should not be held responsible. The manager said she didn’t care and refused to reverse the charge. She was extremely rude and unhelpful even though she was wrong in charging my card without informing me upon checkout. If she would have, I could have disputed the issue in person. I filed a formal complaint with their head office. After a few days and speaking with 2 people, they both refused to reverse the charge and were yelling on the phone at me. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Visa has reversed the charge and is now going after crown plaza for the money as legally they cannot do this. I would never stay here again or ever recommend this hotel chain. Keep a close eye on your credit card statements as they don’t seem to blink an eye at charging people’s cards illegally or care when a customer calls to voice their legit concerns. Very disgusted.
We arrived at the Moncton Airport to discover that our car rental company had given our car away. It was late and no other cars were available so we booked a room here for the night. These folks are so kind and accommodating! The staff was very kind, the rooms were clean and comfortable. They even helped us get a rental car the next morning. And saved us money doing it!
Our experience other than check in was phenomenal. We had an issue with our reservation (price reserved was significantly less than what they wanted to charge). Eventually they agreed to honor the price, except they would charge us an extra $10 for the second adult... even though the reservation specified this. Felt like I was being nickel and dimed. Just as a note: I booked through their website. Not a reseller. Other than this, it was great. Restaurant food was excellent, Jacuzzi was great. Something that bothers me, but I wouldn't knock stars off for: The TV. They put a fancy flat screen smart TV in a room... then put the stupid Hibox system on it which turns everything into an SD display, and makes going through the channels painful. Hotels need to stop doing this.
This hotel has recently renovated their guest rooms. The rooms now show a modern, clean, “crisp” look. The furniture has all been updated, nice art work with a modern flair has been added to the walls. The TV is a large (I’m guessing about 42”) flat panel placed so anyone in the room can view. The desk, as well as the bedside tables offer plenty of electrical plug-ins, as well as plenty of USB charging ports. Moving along to the bathroom, everything has been redone including the sink/vanity as well as the bath/shower. The bathroom is very bright - something you can appreciate the older you get. The view from my window was a bit on the “plain” side and features a new, yet to be opened ice arena. The room itself was very quiet, even though it was close to the elevator. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and includes a very extensive buffet of both hot and cold food and beverages. The hotel will cook eggs to order for no additional charge. An airport shuttle is available, but must be arranged with the hotel as they do not operate on a regular schedule. This hotel is located within walking distance of downtown (5 to 10 minute walk). I definitely would recommend this hotel to any traveller to Moncton.
I was in town and staying here as it was our host hotel. Upon check in, the front desk started to put me in a newly renovated room, and when I mentioned the organizing committee had made arrangements to pay, it suddenly changed Oh your stuff is already done up and I was not offered the renovated room any longer. I was very disappointed to be put so far away from the rest of my group. Normally when travelling with a group they are all kept together or as close together as possible. I was on the 2nd floor and they were on the 5th floor in newly renovated rooms, the room was only partially cleaned 1 night, no creamers left for coffee or garbage bags left in trash cans. Upon check out, the front desk clerked asked the gentleman ahead of me how his stay was and all I got was OK your all good. I normally would not complain but the organization I was with has negotiated rates and we stay there every time we are in the area.
Staff were warm and friendly, even though we visited at a time where not much was going on they helped us plan our visit. Rooms were updated, clean and spacious. Walking distance to great restaurants less than couple of min away.
Crowne Plaza Moncton provides the high level of service one normally expects and in addition, it provides friendly hospitality. I was impressed with the front desk welcome and appreciated the room upgrade. The room included a good work area, which I needed, and had lots of outlets for internet and laptops. The pool is one of the nicest, and deepest, I have seen and the fitness area looks interesting. The lounge provides a quiet place to relax and I enjoyed attentive service from Melanie. I will definitely stay here again when I return with my wife.
The hotel was comfortable. Even though I was located directly across from the elevator doors it was quiet. They are renovating various floors in the hotel and I was sad to see that I was given a room on a floor that had not been renovated. As a club member and booking more than a couple weeks in advance I thought I would have been given a renovated room. I did get to see one however and they are very nice. I was there for a meeting and the meeting room was good. I didn't love that it was shaped in an L and some of the people were sitting at tables near the back and out of visual range of the tables at the other end of the room but it was OK. The front desk staff and concierge were amazing. Loved the nice people working there. The shuttle driver was great and I love that they have a shuttle to and from the airport.
