Our experience here was very good. Yes there are a few things like no coffee pot in the room and the shower is a bit narrow. But our room was clean, comfortable and our experience was very positive. Its a good value for South Beach. I would not hesitate to recommend staying here.
The location is good. It is right around the corner from the restaurant Big Pink which is a plus and also a stone throw away from Story night club. Nikki beach is up the block which is also convenient. The walk to the strip on ocean is not that bad either. The hotel of its self is just average. We did spot a baby roach on one of our pillows though so I will definitely stay somewhere else on my next trip to south beach. They couldn't accommodate us with another pillow or sheets because hospitality is done by 3:30pm each day and THAT'S IT. You need something cleaned.. you have to wait until the next day. The bed was comfy , the bathroom was clean, and it was not a noisy hotel at all, very quiet and that was just fine. I would say this hotel is ok for a 1 to 2 night stay.
I wasn't sure what to expect when I booked this with the price point it was at. I stayed here as I wanted to be near ocean drive and such for the festivities of the weekend. What a neat historic hotel. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff members I encountered were very polite and helpful. This is a great place to stay to take in some of the old historic South Beach that once was. Extremely convenient to the beach and all of the restaurants. The nice thing about this, it was on the quiet end of the street where you could escape the noise once you wanted to. Thank you for a nice stay!
I was in Miami for a conference. The "century" was the lowest cost alternative in the neighborhood. It was simply furnished, clean, and convenient. Had a small problem with housekeeping that management responded well to. Always a good sign.
We came to Miami from Costa Rica to take a cruise and we wanted to be near Joe´s Stone Crab...the Century was perfect! Modest, clean, friendly & helpful staff. We requested a quiet room on the first floor and were provided just that. We walked to Joe´s for supper and for breakfast! We also walked to Poseidon Seafood Restaurant 11 blocks away for two excellent Greek salads.
Not a splashy hotel but a good location. It is an older hotel, in an art deco style. Reminded me of the old Hollywood hotels, I saw in the movies. The elevator was/is small and won't accommodate more than two people if you have a lot of luggage. The room was a bit small (I have seen smaller in midtown Manhattan) but was big enough for three women with lots of luggage. It was clean, with no frills. The bathroom has been renovated to a contemporary style. Century is located short blocks away from Ocean Drive. You can get a Starbucks and enjoy a short, casual walk over. If your plan is to have somewhere to, sleep, change and be off again. This is a good choice.
good location..... BUT OH MY!!!! What a dirty and disgusting hotel. Bed sheets were stained and old. Water poured out of the shower door. It seemed like the room and the bathroom had not been ever been cleaned. Hallway carpet to the bedroom was so filthy. Overall just a very outdated, dirty and cheap looking hotel. Make sure you go see the room before you check in. No pool, no amenities, no place to eat. Terrible value for what we spent. Simply disgusting. Will never stay here again. Only good thing I can say about this hotel, was the man that checked us in. Nice and very polite.
I do not recommend this hotel pictures and the reality completely different with trash rooms.,small rooms tv on the wall with wires hanging night lamp without light, you can just go to sleep if you speak aloud you in trouble .,(losing money )
please make sure that you do not pay for the room until you view it when we arrived our room was not ready so they stored our luggage we came back much later no elevator to the first floor the room was at the end of a darkish hall the room itself whilst clean was very basic there was a concrete gap between the bathroom floor and the door - no door saddle we did not take the room as it felt that it was not suitable at all or clean enough
Arrived here after a few days of driving around in Florida. The hotel was just a few minutes walk away from the beach. The room was okay, with a large but slightly uncomfortable bed. The service was great. Parking was very expensive: $30 a day (valet) or $4/hour in the street. Would recommend, but if you have a car and are on a budget, remember the $30 extra.
