Hotel Is Perfect For The More Mature Vacationers. Still Have The Perfect Location But, Without All The Just Turned 21 Crowd.
All the employees were very polite. location was amazing! room very clean and scent was fresh.
Of course South Beach is expensive, so the price of the stay here on Ocean Drive costs as much as you'd expect. The rooms are small, but the bathroom is very nice (tile and glass), and the staff is very courteous and helpful. Try the free coffee. It's actually pretty good.
Rooms were very very small... I would NOT recommend for families.
Overall, we had a great stay; however, there were a few things missing that were advertised on orbtiz: beach chairs (apparently, the provision of beach chairs has been discarded) and the ocean view - we opted for the view premium, but there really wasn't anything to be seen but the building next door. Otherwise, the staff is friendly and accommodating, and the stay was nice.
This was my first time to south beach and the hotel location was perfect. The staff was very friendly. I would stay here every time I go to south beach, Miami. I really enjoyed my stay.
my stay at the winter haven was average renovations were being done on the hotel while i was there. they had no room service no bar nothing on site i had to go outside the hotel to get things that i needed. also there was an ATM machine when i checked in but a couple of days later it was removed i was told by the hotel staff to walk 2 blocks down to go to the nearest ATM. on the website it clearly states that beach chairs and other amenities where available upon checking in to the hotel however when i arrived beach chairs and WiFi we not available it is very disappointing not getting the services the website claims to provide i will not be returning to this hotel the location of the hotel was the only good thing it was across the street from the beach
Good location for my business trip. Close to all things needed during my trip. Food, beach and event location.
The hotel staff was nice and accomodating. We were upgraded for our anniversary to an ocean view room from a partial ocean view. We found the room to be comfortable and very clean. All the art-deco rooms are small in south Beach, so I beleive in comparison this one was a bit larger. There was always a complimentary bowl of apples and free water bottles in the lobby. Valet was accomodating when we forgot a bag in the car after it was parked. We were in comfortable walking distance from Lincoln avenue and did some shopping. Restaurants are just a stroll away from the main enterance of the hotel. We enjoyed our stay!
knowing what to expect from reading past reviews, i was prepared. however, i expected beach towels, as it said on the site. luckily we all brought our own. there is no bar, not a big deal. little activity in the hotel. everything looked clean and fairly maintained. unlimited free bottles of water. the hotel room renovations have been completed. there was nearly no noise from workers or other guests. the beds were comfy, bathrooms gutted and modern. overall rooms were gutted, modern, simple and small, if we were four large people it could be uncomfortable. chris at the desk was extraordinary! he made the trip. all of his suggestions were spot on. problem: they charged my card $15.00 on two separate days. this was separate from the $11 charge per night that was paid on the last day. i called, was told to call the manager, i left a msg and heard nothing. called my bank to take care of.
The hotel was still under renovation (lobby and common areas) but our hotel room was already updated. We picked a direct ocean view which provided beautiful views, but some noises from the street kept waking me up in the morning (despite being on 5th floor). We booked and pre-paid online, but be prepared to pay $12 resort fee and $26 valet parking if you drive. The $12 per day, included a a very nice breakfast (with hot waffles), wi-fi internet as well as afternoon snacks. (Well worth in my opinion). The rooms are small as this is an older building, but everything inside of the room was pretty modern and most importantly - clean !! I enjoyed their friendly staff starting with the reception staff, valet parking and VERY ambitious and friendly manager. The LOCATION is UNBEATABLE with short walks to all main attractions on Ocean Drive, Washington Ave. as well as Lincoln Road. I do travel a lot for business as well as pleasure and while this place is not superb, I would stay here again without and hesitation.
It was under construction!!!!!! Service was all over the place. Housekeeping kept forgetting to restock toilet paper, the ice machine had black mold, we had to change rooms because of a broken sink and remodeling noise. Honestly, I should have received a super discount. Uggghhhh...
typical small boutique hotel on Ocean Blvd. in South Beach. Decent value and great location. Would stay here again for couple day trip. Not sure I would choose it if I was staying longer.
I have stayed at this hotel before and had a much better experience. They are currently renovating and the bathroom wasn't quite finished - for example, I found the lighting to be inadequate. It seemed to be noisier than in the past as well. The staff, however, is great.
service was fine, location is the reason to stay here. Rooms are basic but clean and great view of the beach
We were really impressed by the Hotel in general. Besides the construction works on the building, it was a great summer vacation.
An average 2, 2 1/2 stars. Beautiful pictures on the website, but definitely way different in reality. The only pros are: 1) Location. 2) Fresh orange infused water at the lobby...
Our hotel experience here was good. Location was perfect, the room was comfortable, and the free breakfast was a great addition. The only issue is the construction that's going on in the hotel from Aug-Nov 2011. I would recommend asking for a room on the 14th street side, so you are not interrupted by the noise during the day (9AM-5PM). Overall, it's a great hotel.
If you are looking for glamorous, this isn't the hotel for you. If you are looking for a hotel that is charming, a tad bit shabby but extremely clean, well staffed, and very comfortable, then you will love the Winterhaven. The beach is literally right across the street. It is a block off Collins Ave, so it is very close to all the great restaurants and night life without being in the middle of the zoo. The bathroom was small but extremely clean. The bed was comfy, the room was immaculate, and the staff were always willing and able to help. I had a blast.
