Casa Real Hotel, Macau

4.0 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

Prices have gone up recently. Beds are excellent.

The hotel was great: clean room, friendly and helpful staff (plenty spoke English), comfortable bed, well-equipped bathroom. The lighting was a bit confusing -- you had to put your room key in a slot in the room (straight forward enough) but then you also had to know to turn on the main light switch next to the bed before most of the other lights would work. Once you know that, easy enough, of course. This isn't a complaint about the hotel, other than that it was an experience related to staying there. When I jumped in a taxi at the airport, the driver didn't understand where I wanted to go (I don't speak Cantonese). I tried to show him the name and address of the hotel on my phone, but he couldn't read that. He handed me 8 pages of destinations in English and Chinese and refused to leave the taxi line until he understood where I wanted to go. I finally located Casa Real on one of the pages and pointed to it. He seemed to acknowledge where I wanted to go, then he pointed to a different hotel name on a different sheet and seemed to indicate it was the same one. (I think the hotel may have been named Grand View or something like that previously.) Anyway, he ended up dropping me off at Grand Dragon (I think it was), which turned out to be across the street and down the road from Casa Real. He insisted that was the hotel. Also, he didn't give me all my change, but I was too exasperated at that point to try to get the rest of my change. Cruddy start to my trip.

Comfortable and Convinient Hotel.. with friendly staff

This hotel is nice for a good price. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Would recommend!

Great modern spacious clean rooms, good staff attitude, gym, pool, very nice Dim Sum restaurant on second floor are all pluses of Casa Real. But room doesn't have free wifi(lobby does), however I was told they are installing it soon. Location not near major casinos but frequent shuttle to ferry terminal which connects to major casinos through their own shuttles.

I spent 18 hours on Macau. The hotel staff was excellent. They actually helped me find the museum I was looking for. The room was very clean and quiet. I slept very well.

The hotel is very close to the high speed boat port and with free shuttle every 30min. Very convenient for people arrive and departure via the sea.

Quiet and comfortable, and often the best value in town.

Lots of shopping activities done. The free shuttle bus services were great as not much money was spend taking public transport not to mentioned that we were traveling free & easy with elderly folks. The only setback was that there was not much eatery around for selection of food. Due to the gas cylinder explosion behind the hotel, the restaurant next to it was closed down and we had to look around for food. Other than that, the stay was great, the staff was friendly and very helpful. We had a great week there and definitely will visit again soon!

Close to Macau ferry terminal so easy to use all the free shuttles to all hotels/casinos. Staff very helpful. Only down side was I wanted to use the pool but they weren't going to let me in without buying a pair of swimming trunks?? Apparently board shorts (as sold in most swimwear shops in the world) aren't acceptable??

I was very amaze when I enter the hotel lobby. I never expect to see the grandeur of the hotel for the price. All the staff are very courteous and very helpful. I highly recommend this hotel and I am going to stay in this hotel the next time I go to Macau. Buffet price is very reasonable and all the staff are accomodating. The room is very clean and roomy. The hotel just renovate the area we were assigned so I was very very satified.

Excellent location for The Sands and ferry terminal. Shuttle service available also. The newly remodeled rooms and the entire new lifts and hall areas are beautiful

Very good hotel, clean, big room but location is a bit far from city center.

Pros good location. only 5 min walking distance from Sands and ferry terminal. can reach every macau's hot spots within 10min by taxi. also, there's a hotel shuttle at the lobby (every 10min) a big plasma TV a pretty big room compared with other macau or hong kong hotels. cheap room service but foods are sucks. free wired internet. Cons food(breakfast), a hard bed, noisy airconditioner, most service attendants can't speak english well. internet is free but the speed is horrible.
