Even if the location is ok and the staff is nice, the hotel looks old and the carpet stinks. It looks an old hotel from the 70', and the worst is the view from the twin bedroom (I let you see the pics). Never again.
Buffet lunch is okay. Variety of food including Macau dishes which is a blend of Chinese and Portuguese cuisine. Limited salad and desert selection. Don't expect expensive foods such as steaks, lobster or similar.
Amazing value for money. Booked a double room, got upgraded to a deluxe room free of charge. Room is really nice and spacious and they use special mattresses you can choose between soft and hard (there is a flyet about it in the room) it was extremely comfortable. The sheets are unlike anything I ve tried for this price, very luxurious. You will sleep very well. Hotel is very calm, no noise can be heard from the room. Very much enjoyed the stay there. Check in only available from 3pm- that is too late. Restaurants in the hotel are not good. (Both chinese and western)
Very spacious and clean. The linens are clean, even the extra bed. Had adjacent room for me and my 4 friends. The staff are accommodating but had difficulty in communicating with them in English. Taxi is means of transportation. Wasnt able to use the pool, but we regreted when we saw that it was very clean and no one was using it.
The check in very bad always give the room after 4 pm and this time I booking for 2 night but they ask me to call Ctrip for confirm my booking because in the hotel have just one night booking in the same time i call from my room the idiot of front desk call me for ask upgrade the room for 200 hkd for night very disappoiment for me and my wife
My son and I stayed for one night, we were pleasently suprised by the quick and friendly service, room was modern, the beds were so comfortable; after a day of walking we came back to the room and ended up staying there. We ordered room service for dinner, good price, food was so scrumptious! We had the buffet breakfast, many choices to choose from, all hot and fresh. The staff were attentive and kept the whole area clean and tidy. I would stay again, is close to many local style resturants and local attractions.
Visited Macau for the first time for work and needed a place close to the Macau Cultural Center that was affordable and child-safe. Location: Very close to good food and 24-hour restaurants and pharmacies. Casinos in the vicinity were not top-rated, walking to-and-from the hotel at night with a 5-year old in tow was very safe. The Lisboa hotel is situated up the road. The outer harbor ferry terminal is under 1km away. There is a free shuttle bus across the road from the main entrance to the hotel. We didn't discover this until we took the shuttle bus back to the terminal. On my days off we walked from the Metropark to Senado Square which is about 1.2km away. We went when the weather was cooler so walking everywhere was very pleasant. Tromped up and down the historical sites and when the little one was tired, caught a cab or a bus back to the hotel. The buses are plentiful but we did catch one that was supposed to pass our hotel but instead deviated away from the route at the last minute -- fair warning! I'm unsure if that's normal, or I had gotten my stops wrong. Amenities: The hotel is OLD and a little tired, but the rooms were recently updated and if you don't plan to spend a lot of time in the room, you won't feel the lack. Housekeeping was good and kept us well stocked with the basics. The electrical outlets had multi-point sockets so we didn't even need our adaptors. At best, the room was a smidge above generic and well worth the price we paid. Breakfast is actually fairly decent. It's 2 steps above basic, and local cuisine was delicious. Don't expect 5 star fare and you'll be pleasantly surprised for the price you pay. There is a pool and a gym, but the overall air of the fitness floor is "tired". If you have a routine and you absolutely HAVE to follow it, you can give this gym a pass and just hook up your TRX to the door. My only beef is an incident with a wise-mouthed trainee at reception when checking in. He definitely needs to work on his front desk manners since sarcasm isn't the best way to welcome guests. He also pointedly refused to speak directly to me (even though I made the bookings for our family) and chose to direct all conversation to my husband. I may be over-reacting, but hospitality should stand no matter the star rating for an inn. My two cents. Summary: At the price and location, the hotel lobby was perpetually overrun by Mainland Chinese tour groups. HOWEVER, since we didn't hang out there and the groups were usually just noisy instead of rowdy, it wasn't a big deal. The restaurant is situated upstairs so your meal won't be disrupted by the crowds and the noise. I didn't have any qualms about walking around the area with my child. And the 24-hour restaurant right around the corner was a real life saver. Prices for meals are closer to Hong Kong pricing, but so were the portions. Also, the food was delicious so absolutely no complaints. Transportation is actually super convenient throughout the island and a bus to the Cotai side is both quick and easy to catch from just about anywhere. Just make sure you find out the fares BEFORE you get on the bus as the drivers are brusque in the typical Cantonese manner and most of them don't speak a word of English. My Cantonese is subpar but still existent. I'm not quite sure how I would've coped with no Cantonese at all. Next time I'm in Macau I'll stay at one of the grander Casino hotels for the experience, but for this work trip with our focus on visiting the historical sites, this hotel was definitely sufficient, affordable, and well situated.
Most of the hotels in Macau are huge, with casinos etc. not so with the Metropark and by comparison is small and has no casino therefore much quieter. Staff were good - decent English at reception - but that's where it ended. Rooms were on the small side but nicely appointed - no complaints. Yes I'd stay there again as was priced at the lower end of the market. Well located in the centre near to the Rio Hotel.
Have stayed a few times at this hotel Recently the rooms have been renovated and are fresh, clean and modern Includes a mobile phone for local charges Check in staff polite and explained all details clearly No casino so a little quieter than some Walking distance to central Macau hotels and casinos Free shuttle to and from ferry
