Fantastic location on top of the hill where it is quiet and relaxing. Right across the Macau Tower too. Water views are always calming. My room even had a big balcony fronting the tower and water. Big room and theme and decor are very unique and real authentic ... just so charming. Staff are very helpful, nothing is too much to ask for. The hotel shuttle service is something guests should use and take advantage of. Drop off points are simply other hotels but are conveniently located where sights are just a short walk.
The Riviera Hotel was more than I expected. I stayed here in May 2017 with a few other people. The rooms were very clean and well decorated. We had a nice view of the water from our room. They even give you a cell phone to use while you are there with full access to the internet. I felt like that was a nice touch. The only thing they need to improve on is the food. I didn't see a large selection of items to choose from but you can always go to the casinos and hit the buffet.
A nice quiet hotel located at the shore. Nice jogging track nearby. Located near Grand Lisaboa casino. 10 mins from ferry terminal. Nice breakfast menu. Pool missing. Nice staff. Pretty much the vintage types
We went to this venue on a tour. We had the buffet lunch - it was not good at all. I would not recommend it. No one in the tour liked it. Toilets were functioning. Looks to be a favored tour bus location.
The room has an excellent view over the Macau Tower. We had chosen this hotel for the big fireworks on NYE, too bad they cancelled the fireworks. Like you can see our room has a little patio outside. The neighbourhood of the hotel was nice and quiet. To get there from the bordergate or taipa ferry terminal can be a bit inconvenient. So in general this place is limited in public transport options. Although most of the historic sites are within walking distance. 15 min to senado square. In general it was a decent hotel on a decent location if you like it to be quiet.
The facilities not really amazing. But it definitely is an another good place to discovery Macau. Specially you can spend 1-3 hour to walk around those heritage. The price of the hotel is very ok. And they provide free handy phone which provide internet surfing, apps even phone call. If you looking for new experience of Macau, try this!
This hotel is particularly suited to those who have no interest in casinos! Macau has a lot to offer visitors and from this hotel you can walk the cobbled streets and explore the history of this interesting place. The view of Macau Tower and beyond to Taipa is a great bonus. Rooms are spacious and well appointed.
So what more to say, EXCELLENT hotel, located away from the hussle and bussle but with a free shuttle to all points of interest. Nice quiet view of the lake and the tower. Great rooms, can not ask for more!!! Great service everyone on staff was great!!! Best deal in Macau!!!
We booked a room with breakfast package for one night as most of the hotel were full. I have requested for high level and close to the elevator and they have totally ignored my request and told me my room is still not the worst as the bad ones are all on first floor. The lady from reception said it is due to my late arrival and the rooms are all occupied!(I arrived at the hotel at about 1530). We were given a room on first floor and we were very disappointed to find that there is no privacy at all because you would see so many workers walking outside your window and what you can see from the window is just a brick wall which is about 3 storeys high! The toilet flushing system was a nightmare. There was blockage and we finally have to use the washroom at the lobby. We missed the breakfast as we woke up late so we end up having lunch at the Chinese restaurant in the hotel. The food is average but the service is pretty good. I won't recommend this hotel to anyone.
We first stayed at the Riviera several years ago because it has convenient views towards Taipa for the annual International Fireworks competition (the fireworks are launched from the sea area between Macau peninsula and Taipa island). Back then (circa 2008) the stay was comfortable but a little shabby. Having given the competition a miss for several years we returned in 2016 and decided to give the Riviera another try. Wow! The hotel has undergone extensive renovations and decoration since our last trip and it looks fantastic. The passageway on our floor (floor 3) has been completely redecorated and modernised with lighted room numbers outside the rooms and also projected onto the floor in front of the room via small discrete ceiling lights. The rooms have also been very nicely redecorated and made to feel very modern and clean with an Asian twist to the decor. The in-room facilities are greatly improved with a TV, free wifi and a small phone device that is used for showcasing local sights as well as using it as a standard phone. I think the hotel (and others) have benefited greatly from a blanket smoking ban from hotel rooms. The breakfast buffet (included with the room price) was pleasant and filling with a good range of western and Asian food types but was perhaps a little on the small side. Nevertheless it was good. Staff were friendly and helpful.
