Hotel room, bathroom etc were clean. Shower dripped all night and sink didn't drain. Cleaning staff were extremely rude. Breakfast was very non descript and again staff "serving" we found quite rude. Lets hope if you stay here you like toast. Due to the staff alone I would not recommend or go there again.
Just had a good 2 night stay at The Troy. Decent room and en-suite. The carpet could have done with a good clean but the bathroom was spotless. Decent breakfast too. The hotel was easily accessible via Bayswater station and just a short trip to central London
Clean and cheap hotel for London. Buffet breakfast with a variety of food. Double room with ensuite shower and toilet. Just round the corner from Queensway underground and 8 minutes away from theatreland..
I stayed here for one night when working in London. The hotel itself is very nice, with a lovely interior and a well-maintained building. I stayed in a single room for £65, which a fair price as breakfast is included. The room itself was good - a nice shower and a good sized bed with all the usual things you expect to find in a hotel. The staff are also very pleasant and helpful. The only downside is the breakfast. There wasn't a lot on offer - coffee, tea, some croissants, yogurts, cereal and boiled eggs. The croissants were stale and the yogurts were watery. Aside from this, it filled me up for the morning. I would recommend staying at this hotel, but the included breakfast needs improvement.
This hotel is very basic, but for the price your really not going to get much better then this for the centre of London Beds are hard and uncomfortable and breakfast is extremely basic and selection-less. But it is complementary so... It does the job if your only staying for a few nights and saves your wallet from a london hammering! Defiantly worth it if you are on a budget, the staff are nice too.
The hotel staff weren't particularly friendly/helpful. The rooms were fine, beds not overly comfortable, but fine. No air con & quite noisy with windows open but far too stuffy without it open. Bathroom was fine, shower cubicle smallish & water hard to get right. Breakfast was fine, nothing special but fine. Croissants slightly stale but cereal/toast/egg/cheese fine For the price you pay for a hotel in a good location in London it was all fine. Nothing special but fine
Situated in a street lined with other budget hotels, the Troy Hotel offers safe and convenient accommodation in London at a very affordable price. The decor might be a little dated, but the rooms are a decent size and are clean. There is CCTV throughout the hotel and each room comes with a safe. The Queensway Tube Station is less than 2 minutes away and a Big Bus tour stop is also nearby, meaning you can be in central London in less than 20 minutes. Hyde Park is directly opposite, and Kensington Palace only a 20 minute walk away. Paddington Station and the Heathrow Express is a £10 taxi fare away, or three stations away by tube. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Nice, clean hotel. Good sized room and bath. Close to shops, restaurants and metro. Our room is very quiet even with the window open. The breakfast is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. A couple negatives: the elevator doesn't always come up to take us down (we never mentioned it to staff as we didn't mind the walk) and there is no AC, but they do have fans.
I booked a double deluxe room for one night. The 'deluxe just means cold continental breakfast included from what I can see. Room was clean but very small and really warm even with window open. Couldn't leave it open in the night due to street noise so got very stuffy. Damp patch on ceiling and iron burn mark in carpet made you realise how cheap and shabby this place is. Also the milk pot in tray had gone off and the hairdryer was rammed with dust n debris! The staff are a foreign and reluctant to speak to you. One of the cleaners just turned her back on us in the lift. All being said we had an ok night's sleep and had no major issues.
You get what you pay for in London. This is the place to sleep over nothing else. Location is very good and there is lot of pubs and restaurant in the walking distance. Breakfast, well you can not call it breakfast. You can skip it if they take extra. Rooms, they are small, but clean enough.....for business it is ok.
