My granddaughter and I had the pleasure of an overnight stay at the Egerton House Hotel last week. Not my first time, but it was for Amelia.Once again,it did not disappoint. It’s rather like staying in a rather grand, but charming, townhouse with awfully friendly family!Nothing is too much trouble for the delightful staff, and the room was charming.Amelia (age 10..going on 21!) fell in love with the Egerton, and insists we return for a few days at half term!Well done Red Carnation!
As you arrive at this elegant hotel you will receive a warm welcome. The staff are professional and friendly. If you visit for their vegan afternoon tea, it will be a memorable occasion. The attention to detail is amazing. It was absolutely perfect in every way. We will definitely come again.
I first ended up at the Egerton House hotel when I was ill a few months ago, the hotel I usually stay in was booked and I got a very last minute room at Egerton House. I arrived late (but less than an hour after I booked the room) to be welcomed by name and upgraded to their Master Suite. I really wasn't at all well and pretty much collapsed in the (very beautiful) room. There couldn't have been a more spoiling place to be under the weather. I left early the next morning for a hospital appointment so didn't really get to see much more of the hotel than my room but with a very definite intention to return regardless. I'm doing so now with my 7 year old daughter; she wants to move in! All the staff know her name, she has her own dressing gown, slippers and teddy, she skipped dinner tonight in favour of the hotel's "Princess" afternoon tea and as I type this she's in bed with warm milk and cookies. The Master Suite was booked this weekend (it's perfect if you're travelling with young children) so we're in a regular suite instead; on the 4th floor with a lovely view and a vaulted silk ceiling. The whole place is decorated beautifully and individually. What really sets this hotel apart though is the customer service - it's flawlessly intimate. We'll be back - indeed I suspect they've already got a life-long customer in my 7 year old...
I was very happy with my stay, and impressed with all things Egerton House. The staff are warm and friendly, genuinely so. Very accommodating. The Hotel has a great breakfast. The room was lovely (I had a deluxe King). I appreciated that they have a tea server in the room. The evening turn down was special; they light candles in the bathroom. The food is very good. I was impressed. The bartender Easley is easily the best martini maker in town. Overall, while the hotel might not be "fancy" for a 5-star, the comfort of my stay was priceless. I note this is a mid-range hotel, but that is relative to high-end places like Lanesborough. The service is just as good, but the hotel is much smaller and less explosively fancy. And, location-wise, one simply cannot do better.
My wife and I are always excited when we visit Egerton House Hotel. The staff are friendly attentive and respectful. Michelle the manager extraordinaire continues to provide magnificent service and she really has become a friend to us. The food is beautifully presented and prepared with care. The cob salad deserves especial mention. It won’t be long before we return.
Stayed a total of 7 nights split over a two week period around another side trip. We loved this hotel from the moment we stepped into the reception area. Everyone we encountered were very nice and our room (#34) overlooked a beautiful garden area with interesting London brick buildings. We left our curtains open most of the time because we enjoyed the view. The Egerton is a boutique hotel; rooms not overly large but very, very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Our bath included two wash basins which is a plus in any hotel. The hotel location is the best in London. Two minutes walk to Victoria and Albert museum, 3 blocks/7 minutes to Harrods for shopping, 20 minute walk to Kensington Palace and Royal Albert Hall. What isn't within a short walk distance can be reached easily by tube or London red buses. Brompton Rd bus stop is one minute around the corner and South Kensington underground station is a leisurely 10 minute walk through a nice neighborhood (South Kensington will get you to most any major tourist destination, many without a change of line). The hotel is in a perfect central location! They have a small restaurant downstairs, but they were more than happy to serve us light fare from the restaurant upstairs in the Drawing Room by the fireplace. Prompt room service too. Upon our second return trip, they had noted our room #34 preference where we were pre-checked in. My wife and I felt like family recounting our daily adventures with the staff upon return each evening. We can't say enough good things about the Egerton House Hotel. We now have two go-to places when we stay in Europe: Villa Spalletti Trivelli in Rome and the Egerton House in London. Try the Egerton; you'll like it.
Multiple stays at Egerton House Hotel have convinced my husband and me that there is no better place to stay in London (and over many years I have stayed in many). The location is ideal -for walking, taxis or tube- and the rooms could not be better equipped, lovelier or more comfortable. The bar is a cozy delight and the breakfasts delicious. But what stands out each time is the extraordinary and exceptionally personal welcome of every member of the highly efficient and gracious staff. No request is too burdensome or too small. They make every visit pure joy. Although the ratings portion of this page does not seem to be functioning, I can say that the service, sleep quality and rooms are all top notch.
On arrival we were greeted with a warm welcome. The staff member was busy with another customer so another member of staff was called. After check in we were offered a glass of champagne as a welcome drink which was delivered to our room. The room was equisitely decorated. Fabric on the walls which matched the curtains and bed quilts. We had booked dinner in the hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were initially a little disappointed to find out that dinner service was in the lounge as we had expected a dinning room with white linen, like the picture on the reservation email. However, the meal was very relaxing and food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening. On returning to our room, it had been decorated with rose petals in the shape of a heart on the bed, candles in the room and bathroom. Took our breath away, it was stunning. The staff were superb, knowledgeable and chatty. We booked directly with the hotel. The rate was cheaper and we had a £50 towards our meal. We will be back. It was like home from home. We can't recommend it enough.
Words can not sufficiently express the care and attention to detail my family, friends and I experienced at the Egerton. The staff is genuine and caring and the attention to details in providing the comfort of a luxurious home away were outstanding. Their caring and comfort have spoiled me for future hotel stays. The breakfast choices were perfect for a healthy way to start our day. The surprises in our room nightly at turn down added to our magical stay.
Lovely! Extremely pleased with my 2 day stay. Staff are friendly and helpful, the room was pleasant and clean. The outside of the building is beautiful and in a good location. Highly recommended. Will be back next time I'm In London
