My then 15 year old son and I stayed at the Sherlock Holmes on a two day stay over before we headed to meet friends at a villa in Costa Brava, Spain. We had never been to London and chose the Sherlock Holmes because my parents had stayed there many, many years before. It is small but super cute and the staff is amazing. Our room was large and perfectly sufficient. The funniest was that my son was so jet lagged after our miles long trek around London upon arriving earlier that day that he was completely passed out. Because I was still upright and hungry, I wound up crossing the street to go to Chipotle. So there I was, a woman from Denver (where Chipotle was founded) eating a burrito in London. Definite positive review. Not luxurious but more than sufficient, clean and friendly.
Had the opportunity to stay here for business travel and really enjoyed it -- a charming hotel with lovely vintage character, but the rooms were very spacious and well-appointed, very clean, and the bathrooms were terrific. Staff was friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
I would totally recommend this Hotel!! It was our 40th anniversary trip that we took on our 41st!! The rooms were very clean, the staff was friendly. We had a little problem with the AC, but management was very accommodating... Thanks for a stay!
I love the location, and the personality and style of this hotel. Chains can often feel too polished for comfort, and one feels much like every other. Also the staff here are all so friendly and professionals. For its location and standard it is very reasonably priced.
Spent 2 nights here. Apart from its location found the experience disappointing. Requested a room with a walk in shower. On arrival was shown to a tiny room with a shower over bath! The room had almost no room to walk around the bed. I requested a room change. I was shown a room that was much bigger and had a seperate shower. The building is old and I understand the need to try and maintain the historical feel BUT much of the furniture was chipped, carpets worn. The bathroom was modernised tho why in U.K. They insist on putting in a complete 'space capsule' style shower module rather than tiling and putting in a wet room style I never understand. The latter takes up less room and looks so much better. I was expecting a friend whose plane was late and they tried to contact me at the hotel where I was waiting in the room. They rang three times and were told I wasn't staying there!! I didn't have a mobile phone and this caused some annoyance and delay. The breakfast was ok pretty standard nothing special for £15 Over all I thought the hotel was basic for the price £280 pn
Easy to access with underground from citi airport. If you like walking/jogging regents park and hyde park is just around the corner. I think value for money is good here, it is surely not a top class hotel so don't expect Asia standards, but clean and okay space in the rooms:-) the bar and resto was nice and fast. The breakfast in the morning for 12 GBP is more than good value.... Enjoy and I will go back another time on a good rate.
This hotel is in a great place. the staff were lovely and helpful and the room was spot on. Tube station is 100 metres away and the local shops, bars and restaurants are plentiful. Highly recommend this top hotel.
Good sized standard room. Hotel in great location, elemis bath products, great shower, quiet room, and comfortable bed. Efficient check in. Polite staff. Good value. I would stay again. No complaints!
I stay with family here in April and loved it. The Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes really was a great stay in a good location. The rooms were clean and large enough. The restaurant was a good choice for either dinner or breakfast and I found the staff to be professional and polite throughout the building. They even had the Gideons Bible and Sherlock Holmes books - Top marks.
Staff professional and accommodating. Bar Area pleasant. Certain aspects of room a bit tired. Lovely Elemis products, bedding very comfortable, tea making facilities good. Mini bar good. Breakfast was disappointing and could be improved
