Not the most spacious of hotels I have visited in London, but it is located near several underground stations, Earl's Court being the closest. In 15 minutes you are in the lower western corner of Kensington Gardens, or new V&A, Natural History Museum and Science Museum. The had been no cleaning after the first night, for some reason. An fellow traveller could tell us, that his room was nice and tidy... Surprisingly quiete, even though our windows were facing the street, but it is not object for very heavy traffic.
I spent a week in London in October and chose The London Lodge as my hotel. This was a great place to stay for me - a solo traveler. I wanted to stay somewhere that was a little bit quiet and Kensington seemed like a safe bet. The staff at the London Lodge were kind and accommodating. I loved my room, it was small, but comfortable, and I loved the rain shower in the bathroom! The room came with a TV with lots of channels to choose from, a mini fridge and mini bar. The hotel itself is within walking distance of the Earl's Court tube station, Hyde Park, Kensington High Street, museums, and many restaurants. I think that if I were to go back to London on vacation, I'd stay here again.
from start to finish the stay here was great. directions to hotel from local tube station easy to follow staff friendly and helpful room pleasant and comfortable breakfast freshly prepared and very tasty
Fantastic Boutique Hotel, Personal Service, Perfect Location and Great Value, We thoroughly enjoyed the top quality King Bed which provided us with the best three nights of sleep on our 6 week travels in Europe. I will definitely go back!!!!
The hotel is off the main road, so it is exceptionally quiet at night. Staffs are very helpful in explaining the facilities and the layout of the hotel. However, hotel rooms are a bit dated, and need renovation desperately.
I was visiting London with a group of friends. One of our group had stayed at this hotel before and I can see why. The hotel is located off busy Earl's Court Road where you have easy access to public transportation. A bus stop is literally around the corner and Earl's Court Tube station, which has Piccadilly and District Line trains is a 10 minute walk away. There is also a bank a block away and so many food options you could eat in a different one every night for a month. Lots of different kinds of foods from burgers to French dining. Lexham Gardens is just off the main road, so there is less noise than the busy street of Earl's Court. You might want to choose a room towards the back of the building as trash collection at night can be noisy. The hotel is a step back in time for decor. Wallpapered walls in traditional patterns. Our room was on the small side, but ample for 2 adults. An en suite bathroom was adequate as well. There is a small cafe on the lower ground floor. They serve a full English breakfast, a Continental breakfast or you can order separate items from the menu. Our room rate included the Full English breakfast. They also had porridge.(oatmeal to Americans) The cafe also serves a small meal menu. But the best part about this hotel is the staff. We were greeted warmly on our arrival by Javid. Mandy also came later to greet us and was warm & friendly. All the receptionist were incredibly helpful. Susana & Ani on the day shifts helped me time after time to navigate the tube system and get to Stansted airport. And the late night shift woman, whose name I missed chatted with me when I woke up in the middle of the night & couldn't sleep. The kitchen staff was very pleasant and accommodating as well. One small caveat. Bring light pajamas or a nightgown. The rooms were on the warm side.
