By looking at the pictures for this hotel I thought it would be a pleasant stay. However it was not...As we walked in the hotel it just felt bad...I had my 8 year old daughter with me and she didn't feel safe throughout our stay there. Cleanliness should definitely improve. I left the towels on the floor for them to be changed when we left the room and when we got back in the night they were still there with no new towels been left. I even had to go at reception one day to request toilet roll. The mattress of the single bed had a hole so it was not a very comfy sleep. The bed sheets they used were not big enough to cover the whole mattress so as soon as you lied there you ended up lying on the mattress. The beds on one of the days were not even made for us. Breakfast was a total disappointment as well! Every day the same things and not much variety at all. The variety they have for breakfast definitely needs a make over! Time for breakfast should also be later during weekends and bank holidays. If there is anything good to mention about this hotel is that the girls who were at reception were very pleasant, polite and helpful in contrast to the older man who was at times there who was rude. When we arrived I mentioned that the phone was not working and nobody even bothered to come and check on it. I would never stay there again and wouldn't recommend it to anyone!
I made an error trying to save a bit of money staying out of the city and out of the mainstream hotels. It's a mistake I won't make again. The shower was but a trickle in the morning (room 8), the dining area only had a 2-stat hygiene rating and it felt generally like you were staying in somebody's house. In the end I didn't save money because I had a huge taxi fare back from the city!
All I’ll say is I checked in and walked right out and gave them back their keys and I had a 2 nights non refundable booking but I was willing to let go. Nothing in that place looked or felt right (security or cleanliness). I can’t be paid to lie down on the bed I saw in the room it just didn’t look right. I won’t stay here for FREE
The photos on the website and on hotels.com make this look quite modern and presentable... In reality, this is nothing more than a B&B doss house... the rooms are tiny, dirty carpets, scuffed walls old tatty furniture. The bathroom is the size of a cupboard and very uncomfortable. The room was closed with the heating on which made if feel like a sauna, I had to turn the radiator off and have the window open to make it almost comfortable.. not great as it is on a busy road, so not good for sleeping I dont care how cheap this place is, it is not worth the money.. Pay 20 or 30 quid more and go somewhere that is not the KING SOLOMON hotel
We are 2 couples that planned to spend a night in London. We find this hotel on the internet and we thought it wasn’t a bad idea, until we had the experience. Point nr 1: no hot water whatsoever. Point nr 2: breakfast waiters having breakfast at the same time and on the same room as the guests. Point nr 3: no communication between staff and clients. Point nr 4: last hygiene rating from 2014. Breakfast buffet with not a lot variety but not bad quality. Anyways, not coming back. Over staffed with no good skills.
To be honest, I will usually refrain from writing a bad review because I'm not sure whether my bad experience was a one off and I don't want to damage any reputations. However, this place was by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. It was unplanned and I had to find a place at the last minute. The second I arrived, the staff did not show me to my room, pointed to a door and seemed annoyed when I couldn't find it. I went to have a shower and the drain was blocked by hair so that the shower immediately filled up. When the man came to fix it he left hair in the show. There wasn't time for the water to go hot. The heat was switched off so the room was the same temperature as outside (December). Someone came into our room at 8am. The TV didn't work. You have to pay 9 pounds for 24 hours of wifi. But actually it's not 24 hours - there is a limit on how much you can use. After 11 hours it switched off and the manager refused to give me additional wifi because the staff members "should have told me" there was a limit (they didn't). I honestly started crying because I was so frustrated and felt like I was being treated so disrespectfully and it was too much. The manager then accused me of being drunk. The next night, the same manager was so incredibly drunk (he told me he was drunk) and smelled like alcohol. Usually I would find this funny, but given his behaviour the night before I just thought it was incredibly hypocritical. He also told my friend I had been "drunk" the night before when she had just arrived. I honestly just cannot believe how bad the whole thing was. The only good thing is that I can tell the story of the worst hotel ever. Honestly, do not stay here. It is not worth even a cent. The bad reviews are real. This is a rant but it had to happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
this is a very unpleasant accommodation, floors un even , shower door not straight , very odd how it's all put together , not worth money at all unfortunately, front of house staff nice enough though , grubby nothing like pictures show which show clean and bright
This place is so gross! The floors are uneven. We had to switch rooms because there was literally cum on the couch and hair and boogers on the sheets. Even with new “clean” stuff it was still gross. In our second room we were woken up by flooding in our bathroom coming from the shower above. The staff was less than helpful and it was overall terrible.
fairly good location, but that is a s good as it gets! we had a fire alarm in our room that would go off just before we went to bed several times, i phoned the reception only for them to send someone up who didn't seem to know what he was doing 45 minutes later? then woken by the same alarm in the morning, i phoned the reception and didn't seem to care. Then the breakfast.... well it just cant be called a breakfast a few boiled eggs, tune and egg mayonnaise?! wouldn't stay here again in the future as you can probably tell haha!
The rooms was tiny & dirty. The 'breakfast' was too poor (2 vegetables, tona salad & egg salad - it's not breakfast!) You could hear the room above you walking. Do yourselves a favor, go somewhere else.
