Animal smell hits you in the face along with the stench of overpowering chemical public bathroom like air deodorants. Putrid. Hotel reeks of those smells. Reception stated we’d get a room that had never had an animal in it.(Husband has Severe allergies to dogs &cats. Tried to cancel reservation were told we had to check in and try it out first before cancelling to see if the room was ok. And if not to call Orbitz to cancel that they couldn’t Orbitz wouldn’t let them. Went to room, husband broke out in hives, eyes watering like he was crying, and short of breath, immediately went down to leave told the front desk we had to check out due to him already having this bad of reaction in under 5min. Talked to Orbitz CS they stated after explaining the situation to them that they could not cancel because we had checked in, nice. Orbitz also said that only the hotel could cancel and refund that Orbitz could not! Was on & off hold in excess of 40min. Second call to Orbitz, nicer guy but same explanation and another 50+ min. During that time on hold, we found another hotel, checked in after explaining what happened they immediately offered to get us a room at the same discounted rate we pd at LaQuinta and they were a new hotel that usually cost double that fee but lowered the fee to help us out WOW to them so without enough space to tell the hole story I will just say both organizations should take a lesson from their competitor who we will repeated stay with from now on.
