I liked location. 1) when I got there the guy gave me wrong key . So I go to my room and try key, doesn’t work and has a do not disturb sign. Someone else is there 2) come to find he gave me wrong key . He looked at wrong paperwork 3) gave me another key. Went in smelled like cigarettes. 4) went back down, another key. Room was ok by the time all this is done, it’s 30 minutes later 5) guy at the desk is sagging . 6)as I’m leaving in the morning it smells like weed in the lobby. Mind you they make you sign that you will not smoke 7) the end

TV poor. Overall OK

A highly mediocre stay. Everyone who worked there that I ran into felt like they wanted to be doing anything else, which, fair enough but maybe don’t act like that in front of your customers. Shower handle was incredibly hard to work cause it got stuck. They only had one half roll of toilet paper in the bathroom which I didn’t realize was the only one till I needed more and had to use the tissue paper. Walls are thin so you can hear pretty much every sound around you. It’s a nice splash of paint on a fairly “meh” experience.

That room was a mess, and appeared to be occupied. We were moved again, that room was much better, not so hot and the bathroom was clean. Bed I slept in was lumpy and not at all comfortable. A lot of door slamming.

I like the location and decor. I don't like the towells. that were rough and the size of a large hand towel. The Breakfast omlets were good but otherwise the breakfast had a poor selection. The "hot" water for tea was not evan after we ask for hot water. The breakfast was much better last year when we stayed here.

I’ve stayed at this place approximately five times, twice when it was a Holiday Inn Express and three or more since becoming 816. There has been a steady nosedive since the change. Last night will be the last time I stay here. The only staff member I encountered was fine. The room was pretty beat down. The towels were dingy. The furniture is tired. I’d avoid.

Mid priced hotel in the heart of westport. Great room, staff and clean. A great place for a night out in westport. We really enjoyed our theme room. Highly recommend.

You can tell they brought an old hotel back to life, which is great to see. The parking lot is shared with a restaurant so you may not get up front parking in the evening.

Looks way better online. In person it is kinda dumpy. Elevators didn’t work/got stuck. Breakfast was okay.

Room themes were a nice twist The bed felt like plywood I was not asked how my stay was or offered a receipt at checkout.

I liked the property and location, but the carpeting in my room had a lot of bare spots and the carpet in front of the mirror was sticky. Scared to know what they sticky mess was in front of a mirror. Location was great to get to the convention center and was walking distance from so many shops and restaurants.

The staff at the bar is what makes the property worth visiting. I did not eat breakfast but was told by several others staying that it was great too. The hotel is a good attempt at making something special. The owner really needs to execute the vision better. The themed rooms were cool. I enjoyed reading the wall material. The hotel has a bar but its open for only 3 to 4 hours a day. It is also cash only. You can't even charge a drink to the room. There is also a very limited selection. This is an example of an 'attempt'. The hotel does not have a store to purchase anything like water, snacks, etc. They have vending machines that serve sodas and water. However, if I didn't have the correct change, and the front desk did not either, so I was just out of luck. I had two refrigerators in my room but couldn't get bottled water. I walked to the nearest store to purchase. Again an attempt. The location is prime. Very easy access to Country Club and Westport. Someone just needs to come in and really step it up a few notches.

The woman checking us in wasn’t nice to us and she never gave us our “complimentary” drink tickets we were promised. She acted annoyed the entire time we checked in.

I like the artwork of the rooms and hallways. Room was standard, clean and comfortable. My shower was low pressure and barely worked that was the only hiccup. The area is a nice section with good food choices and night entertainment.
