We stayed here for almost 4 weeks. The tv would cut off after 50 minutes so you could never see a whole show. My husband has problems getting up and down and the chair in the room was horrible. I had to pull him up each time he got up and we ask for a better chair and they said no. He fell in the shower and all they would do was call 911 so they would help him up. No one from the hotel filled out an accident report or ask later if he was ok. He had to have a brain scan because of the fall. They need hand rails on the outside of the shower and near the toilet. I had to help him get up from the toilet each time he used it. I ask for a handicap room when we got there and was told no but they could give us a walk-in shower. The shuttle is only from the hotel to the hotel next door or to the Mayo Clinic. The staff at the desk were not very helpful only working to receive a paycheck.
Average hotel with large rooms/kitchenettes. Some of the rooms have been updated but even those are looking tired. Example: NOISY exhaust fans in bathrooms, NOISY air conditioning. The fitness center is a joke. Two treadmills and one bike. That is it....VERY disappointing. On the plus side the breakfast is well stocked with hot and cold food/fruit/yogurt. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Strong WIFI.
This place is a wonderful addition to the Mayo clinic. The staff is outstanding and the In is only steps away from the hospital. The layouts are practical, roomy, and everything that one needs is there. There is a fine breakfast, WiFi , laundry, small store, outstanding staffing ready to help you, even an in-room shopping delivery service. The room cleaners are super sweet, and you can have mail delivered from Amazon and the like right to the front desk. This is a great addition to the Mayo, and we were most impressed.
The Inn is in walking of the Mayo campus which is a Great Plus. This is a functional location with the tools needed for a medium length stay. The free breakfast is as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". The rooms are clean but a little dated.
Not impressed at all with the hotel. Was to have a complimentary breakfast buffett, but no food hardly out. Only things available were cereals and English muffins and bagels. There was a spoonful of scrambled eggs, and they were barely warm. The container that was suppose to have ham and sausage was empty. Also, no batter for the waffles. Ask the lady who was suppose to be filling these, and she said out of waffle batter. Now this was at 9, and Buffett was suppose to be until 10 on a Saturday. My husband went down at 7:30, and he said not much then either. Also, had to ask front desk guy for hot water for tea, since it was empty too. On checkout, front desk guy did not even ask how our stay was. He didn't say anything, just took keys. I would never stay here again, even with convenience to Mayo. Stayed at Towne Place Suites the week before that, and had great experience. Will stay there in the future.
This property is adjacent to the Jacksonville Mayo Clinic. It does not participate in Marriott Rewards. Nice, clean, quiet place. Suite I was in had full efficiency kitchen, excellent living area with large screen TV and good size bedroom and bath. Designed for patients and family members receiving long term treatment. Place was very clean and staff were excellent.
I stayed in rm 116 first time window had spider wave and dust I complain and hk staff come in and clean it second time went to stay in same rm and myself made that same window dirty before I c/o from that rm so when I come back next week window was still dirty I call front desk about that and one another issue but till I check out after 2 n/s stay no one showed up to my room or no one call me
This is such a nice perk for patients and family members when overnight stays are needed at Mayo. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. There is a full breakfast every morning even though each suite has a kitchen. We stayed in the two bedroom, two bath unit and it was just what my cousin and I needed so we could visit my mom in the hospital and then de-stress in our suite. We were lucky to get a room like this at the last minute. They fill up fast this time of year, especially Monday-Thursday. Now we know to book ahead if possible. I had to stay in Jacksonville for several more nights and moved to 3 hotels because of "no room at the inn".
A stay here can never truly be for a great reason, but our stay was comforting. The staff was kind and professional, the room was clean and comfortable. A roll away bed was brought in when the existing accommodations did not suit our needs that evening. Easy parking, easy access to the Clinic. Highly recommend.
The hotel is integral to the Mayo Clinic hospital and clinics, with easy interior access through a corridor from the hotel building to the junction between the Cannaday clinic and Mayo Hospital building. Corridors are wide with wheelchairs apparently available at the hotel end. There is a food service facility and a lounge in the hotel lobby area. Our room was equipped for mobility restricted folks, with wide doors and a bathroom with easy wheelchair access to the shower. Beyond the necessities, the room had a sofa (uncertain if it was a fold-out bed) and easy chair, plus near full size fridge, with a full range of cooking facilities and utensils. The info card noted that a food shopping service was also available in the hotel. The desk staff was quite helpful and friendly. In my mind, the Inn at Mayo is a superb choice for persons wanting to easy some of the stress that comes with medical issues.
