My family and I lived at The Inn at Mayo Clinic for seven months in 2009 and returning this time brought back many fond memories. The staff made me feel like I was home again! I will definitely stay here again.
I wanted to thank both weekend front desk staff for making my stay memorable. I’ve come up two weekends in a row and Esther remembered me! That means a lot to me. I came in and she said you’re back. I can honestly say that I had a pleasant stay and have no complaints. I enjoyed breakfast.
Stayed in the 2BR/2BTH suite..all the conveniences of home.. kitchen, living room, 3 flatscreen TV's, wi if etc..quiet and great place if you have someone in the Clinic..Also free breakfast offers hot or cold foods,
This would qualify as a specialty hotel, a Residence Inn not under the flagship name. We chose this because of the room configuration available and free breakfast vs the nearby Courtyard where we would have had to have 2 rooms and miss some quality family time. The room was OK, the only negative was that the sofa and chair in the living room area of the 2 BR suite needed to be replaced due to wear and tear. The room had more electrical sockets in the bedroom than usual, probably because many guests are there awaiting or recovering from medical procedures and may have medical devices to plug in. That was a nice touch.
We stayed here for almost 4 weeks. The tv would cut off after 50 minutes so you could never see a whole show. My husband has problems getting up and down and the chair in the room was horrible. I had to pull him up each time he got up and we ask for a better chair and they said no. He fell in the shower and all they would do was call 911 so they would help him up. No one from the hotel filled out an accident report or ask later if he was ok. He had to have a brain scan because of the fall. They need hand rails on the outside of the shower and near the toilet. I had to help him get up from the toilet each time he used it. I ask for a handicap room when we got there and was told no but they could give us a walk-in shower. The shuttle is only from the hotel to the hotel next door or to the Mayo Clinic. The staff at the desk were not very helpful only working to receive a paycheck.
Average hotel with large rooms/kitchenettes. Some of the rooms have been updated but even those are looking tired. Example: NOISY exhaust fans in bathrooms, NOISY air conditioning. The fitness center is a joke. Two treadmills and one bike. That is it....VERY disappointing. On the plus side the breakfast is well stocked with hot and cold food/fruit/yogurt. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Strong WIFI.
This place is a wonderful addition to the Mayo clinic. The staff is outstanding and the In is only steps away from the hospital. The layouts are practical, roomy, and everything that one needs is there. There is a fine breakfast, WiFi , laundry, small store, outstanding staffing ready to help you, even an in-room shopping delivery service. The room cleaners are super sweet, and you can have mail delivered from Amazon and the like right to the front desk. This is a great addition to the Mayo, and we were most impressed.
The Inn is in walking of the Mayo campus which is a Great Plus. This is a functional location with the tools needed for a medium length stay. The free breakfast is as the saying goes "you get what you pay for". The rooms are clean but a little dated.
Not impressed at all with the hotel. Was to have a complimentary breakfast buffett, but no food hardly out. Only things available were cereals and English muffins and bagels. There was a spoonful of scrambled eggs, and they were barely warm. The container that was suppose to have ham and sausage was empty. Also, no batter for the waffles. Ask the lady who was suppose to be filling these, and she said out of waffle batter. Now this was at 9, and Buffett was suppose to be until 10 on a Saturday. My husband went down at 7:30, and he said not much then either. Also, had to ask front desk guy for hot water for tea, since it was empty too. On checkout, front desk guy did not even ask how our stay was. He didn't say anything, just took keys. I would never stay here again, even with convenience to Mayo. Stayed at Towne Place Suites the week before that, and had great experience. Will stay there in the future.
