Malecón House

If you are staying in Esperanza, great place!

Friends decided to have their wedding in Esperanza. They were staying at the Malecon hotel so I did too. After the wedding reception the guests went in the water right in front of the hotel. Not the best idea. It's very rocky and folks emerged from the water with cuts and splinter like objects in their feet. We moved to the hotel swimming pool. It poured down rain. It was a great time! When we got out of the pool the hotel staff had dry towels ready for us. The rain was so hard it knocked the power out. The generator kicked in and life was good. Turns out a few places in Esperanza didn't have generators. We did! The hotel is conveniently located to several great restaurants we could walk to for great breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

Ocean Pearl Inn

Fantastic Beach Hotel

My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights. It is located right on Plaza Azul beach. It is a small hotel, but it is great. There are 2 parking spots inside the gates, then there is street parking for overflow. We parked on the street for a night and our car was very safe. It is not a busy street. The hotel staff is great, we were welcomed warmly and given great recommendations about things to do in the area. It is a nice hotel to stay at if you want to visit the El Yunque Rainforest, we were only a 15-20 minute drive away. The rooms were very clean and the bed was amazing. The water pressure in the shower was great. There was not a TV, so if that was important to you look elsewhere, though we never missed it.

Garden Palmas Del Mar

Nice hotel, good location.

We had a great stay. The hotel overall is nice. The pool and hot tub are comfortable but busy on weekends. The beach is close and a good place to relax. The surf is rough and swimming is not recommended but not prohibited. There are (rangers) on patrol. Staff were helpful and friendly. My room was not ready, so free upgrade. No dancing or newspaper. Showers are hard to enjoy as the temperature changes every few minutes. Safe gated resort community to run or walk. Parking was easy. Beautiful grounds and surrounding resorts. Restaurants were spread throughout the community. Super Walmart was in neighboring town. We bought half our meals (groceries) and drinks there. People and schedules run on island time. Don't be impatient stinky tourists. We rented a car from the airport. You have to be a good defensive driver all the time. We had no problems. El Yunque and Culebra were great day trips from here. I would do this trip again the exact same way.

Wyndham Grand Rio Mar Puerto Rico Golf & Beach Resort

great girls getaway

I stayed at the Wyndham March 29-April 2, 2018. The hotel was in great shape - clean, inviting... nothing to complain about. Every person who worked there was friendly & willing to do anything to make our stay great. There were many family-friendly activities for the kids for Easter, yet those without kids, like myself , did not feel overwhelmed with the little ones. The food & drinks were very good, at "hotel rates," (AKA overpriced.) Not having a car, it was also a bit pricey to take a taxi everywhere - but the taxi drivers were very friendly and helpful. I highly encourage people who are thinking about going to Puerto Rico to DO IT! It is a beautiful place with wonderful people - they are working hard to recover after Hurricane Maria & need tourists to return to help their economy.
