Mediocre hotel that seems to cater primarily to mainland tourists and feels like a mainland hotel. On the positive side, the location is good, with really convenient access to public transport, the MTR, Ocean Park, and South Island. Our room was large and clean. On the negative side, the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable, the quality of staff and food in the restaurant was poor, breakfast was lousy and cold. It’s just a place to sleep at a decent price but nothing more.

Favorite hotel in Hong Kong. Rooms are so much bigger than other hotels for the same price. Convenient to buses, and the bus only takes 15 minutes to Causeway bay. Staying here is so much better than staying in Kowloon.

The positives are: nice sparkling pool, outdoor pool area and gym. Two friendly full time lifeguards. Too bad the pool hours are 8a to 7p. Two professional gym trainers. The room size is good, with hardwood floor. Lots of negatives: need to take taxi, if you don't wait to walk 5 to 10 min to bus or subway. Street is dusty, because it is located in an industrial area with lots of vacant buildings. if hotel provides shuttle service to MTR or nearby shopping areas, that would be a plus. Resaturant food is fair. no stores or shops inside hotel. The bathroom had urine smell. I asked the staff to wipe and mop the bathroom door, but the smell still persisted.

The hotel itself is located in a industrial area. Not much to see around the immediate area but has good access to the train station (5 min walk). The staff is very nice and helpful. The rooms are a little bit small but clean. The hotel staff is very nice. We took our grandkids to Ocean Park which was very convenient because it was only one stop away on the MTR.

The main advantage of this hotel is the "not HK sized rooms" with fully equipped bathes. The hotel surprisingly well connected to the HK downtown and the train station, just 2-3 long stops by the bus. There is almost nothing around the hotel itself, except the Ocean Park but all the south HK attractions are easily reachable.

Rooms and services are great. But the fire alarm went on at 4am for 15min. Was told that this happened in the previous night as well. Wondering why the hotel like to wake everyone at 4am.

Close to walking trails and delicious local food in Apleichau and Aberdeen. The hotel offers frequent shuttle bus to and from the city, making a 15-20 minutes trip convenient. I'll definitely come back!

I said the location was great - it was great for me because it was walking distance to my conference, but it is not convenient to the shopping areas of downtown HK. It IS however, very clean and quite nice and the best accomodations for the money I have had in my 5 trips to Hong Kong. Most hotels of similar luxury on HK island are much more expensive. Service and food are very good also.

Perfect hotel! Taxis are a sore point with this hotel and if it rains, its even worse. But buses to all HK locations are available on the street below. All you need is cash or an Octopus card.

5 star accommodations and service, but tucked away in the southern part of hong kong island. It's inconvenient to get around, and there are no restaurants in the area, but the wonderful hotel amenities, staff, and value certainly make up for it.

This was my second stay at L'Hotel. The staff is friendly and very helpful (arranging taxis, giving local info/advice, exchanging currency). The rooms are comfortable, sound proof, great A/C, mini-fridge, coffee/tea, water. The complimentary wifi was excellent. As usual, the restaurant was very good (finally a place where the hotel food is actually yummy). The only downside is the location, but after the MRT stop is fully constructed this location will be perfect in every way.

We booked this hotel because we planned a day trip to the Ocean Park. The hotel is only 5-10 minutes ride from the park which is very convienient for families with kids who already played hard for a day and just want to get back to the hotel and rest. The room is very clean and comfortable. For the location, the hotel is in the middle of a still developing area with lots of construction (no noise for the night time). There is no restaurant option outside the hotel within walking distance and the hotel has only one restaurant.

Great hotel but a little far from the action. Nearest subway stop is about 15 minutes drive away.

Overall, a lovely place to stay. The location is a little isolated but the hotel does a great job with the shuttle and taxis are affordable. Great spot for Ocean World and the southern beaches. Breakfast was good but better as part of a package. Worth the money compared to the hotels in Central. Beds hard but well appointed.

Hotels in HK are expensive. L'Hotel price has risen 50% since a year ago, but it is still on the low price point in comparison. The hotel is relatively new, room is good size, clean, comfortable, good service, has a safe in the room and free WiFi. Location is not near the central business or shopping areas, but it is just a short bus ride or taxi to any location. I will stay in this hotel agin.

The room was very nice for the most part, unfortunately, we did find some random stains on the bed sheets after housekeeping visited on the second day. Not sure what that was. Nice mountain view. Room did not smell like cigarettes (a lot of non smoking rooms still smells, not this one). Hotel was kind of far from everything, but free and frequent shuttle made it up. The worst part about our stay was these northerners next door making hella noise at 6am in the morning 2 days in a row. I guess they cant really control annoying people. The best part was the friendly, polite and helpful staff. The price was not bad for a 4 star hotel.

There place far away by the downtown, but the bus is very convenient.

L'Hotel is beautiful, trendy and clean. Guests get a free wifi log in (which was also a solid, fast connection). The surrounding area is industrial and not very pretty, but I felt safe. Not many places to eat, but the hotel restaurant and nearby Dim Sum place were both excellent. The free hotel shuttle takes you to the MRT stop (and other stops) and with plenty of return times it's easy to go out for a day in the city. Taxis are reasonable as well (and plentiful later in the day), but buses are the best deal. However, one word of warning: The only negative during my stay was trying to return to the airport in the morning. I checked out at 7am and waited for the first the shuttle pickup (7:20am). However, the shuttle did not make it's first pick up as listed on the schedule (I asked a doorman who assured me that the shuttle would come, later to find that it would not come until 8am). Even while I was waiting and asking questions of the staff none of them were super helpful or comforting in the shuttle situation or in regards to getting a taxi. I realize they cannot control when a driver will respond, but to offer someone who has been waiting for an hour some sort of encouragement like, "don't worry, we've called," would be nice. Overall, due to the situation waiting in the shuttle and taxi queues at the hotel, I barely made my plane.

Room was clean, perfect temperature and generous in size. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful with great English. The location is a bit out of the way and will require transportation to go anywhere worthwhile but the concierge and valet are more than capable of directing you to the most efficient way, be it taxi or bus. In my opinion, it is worth staying out of the city and paying for the transport in because the hotel is a great value.
