Grand Hyatt Hong Kong

5.0 out of 5.0

The Grand Hyatt Hong Kong offers comfortable rooms at a fair price (for HK). The standard room is modern, sufficiently spacious and thoughtfully designed. Pool area is very nice with a pretty good pool for such a crowded city. Location is the only drawback. It’s a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest MTR station and there’s not too much to see in the local area.

We were checked in to the wrong room on arrival which was surprising for a Hyatt property. However, the room we ended up in had a great view of the city's skyline and harbour. Really good breakfast on offer.

I regularly attending events at the Hong Kong Convention Center. There is no longer place for me to stay than the Grand Club at the Grand Hyatt. The staff is superb. The health club and swimming pool are like being at a South Pacific resort. The restaurants are uniformly 5 star as well. I always look forward to returning to the Grand Hyatt.

During a business trip I organized a workshop inside this hotel and everything was perfect. The meeting rooms as well as the bedrooms offers a wonderful view on Hong Kong Bay. The new Club lounge has a high ceiling with several corners that allows to relax and enjoy Ruinart Champagne. Personnel at Club lounge makes you feel at home in Hong Kong

We got the full harbour view room and whilst there was considerable smog during our stay, the floor to ceiling glass (along with well placed mirrors) still makes it the centerpiece of the room. The size of the rooms are enormous for HK standards. The design of the bathroom blind is a little odd though as it does let a lot of light through so bathroom trips in the night will illuminate the entire room. The hotel is obviously very popular with guests and also with business meetings, the lobby is loud and busy throughout the day and a slight complaint would be the amount of suits in the pool area - it would not be a place to go to relax with a book that’s for sure. A notable compliment to the housekeeping who did a great job and was generous is replenishing toiletries, bottles of water and left the room spotless every day. Overall a pleasant stay and the staff are always on hand with a bright smile and friendly advice.

I have stayed here so many times over the last two decades I have lost the count. Last time I stayed they had just started the badly needed facelift. Review from back then The new rooms are very nice. While they are smaller than other equivalent category hotels in HK I've stayed at, the open bathroom construction make them feel more spacious. The service level remains excellent, especially given the size of the hotel. The main negative for me is the location. It is not really convenient to anything except the Exhibition Center. The nearest subway station is a good 10 minute walk. The other (temporary) negative is the Wanchai land reclaim project in front of the hotel. I was staying in the 24th floor, and I could hear the construction work. Obviously this is not under the control of the hotel, and they do state it clearly on their website.

We got the top floor room and it had an amazing view, breakfast was amazing as well. I have been in many top hotels and this one did not dissapoint me at all. Only minus was the food in the chinese restaurant. It wasn’t gastronomical but the service and the place where very good.

We stayed in Grand Hyatt Hong Kong in March 2018. The experience overall was poor and we won't be staying again, simply because there are much better alternatives. We've stayed in 3 different 5* hotels in HK. Before I start on the negatives, I will say the rooms are modern. Lots of surfaces, open plan and great views. Staff in the executive lounge were helpful and efficient. Some of the annoyances: - check in process took 30min - on check out we were handed the wrong bill and saw that people in the room next door had paid half the rate and both of us used! - hotel next to a building site. It was embarrassing because we booked a room for ourselves and our friends. While we slept fine, they were woken up by the noise each morning. - steam room access only via paying for a spa treatment. All other hotels have a public steam room. - on checkout we asked for help taking bags from the room and no doorman ever arrived. 20mins later we carried them down ourselves. - both our room and our friends room smelt funny. Musty/moldy old carpets. When paying 7500+ HKD per night PER room it's just not unacceptable. We don't mind paying for quality but it's annoying when you find out you've overpaid AND things were below the level expected. Simply comes together to leave a very sour taste in one's mouth. We've booked Grand Hyatt in Tokyo for next week and are going to try cancel after this experience. Never Hyatt again.

I had a harbour view room, was absolutely stunning. Service was perfect, English command was amazing, staff attentive and breakfast fantastic! So much choice. They even helped me find a store that sold a very specific kind of mooncakes. They rang up many stores whilst we were out and about in HK and came back to a list on our bed with locations/phone numbers and email address of the stores! Pool is good as well! Housekeeping amazing, they even folded my clothes and packed them on top of my suitcase!

From the moment I arrived at the Arrivals Hall of the Hong Kong International Airport where I asked the hotel to send a car to pick me up, I was taken care of. When I arrived in the driveway of the Grand Hyatt, a young man opened the car door, knew who I was and escorted me directly to my room, skipping the check in process in the lobby entirely. I am in a harborview king bed room on the 18th floor. its just right for my one night stay. Clean, updated, and gorgeous views out the floor to ceiling window. Thank you Grand Hyatt.
