"Staff at the hotel were very friendly and looked after my needs during my brief stay. They were able to recommend available services, and were accommodating to any needs I had. The room at the hotel was designed for comfort, and was clean and organized once I was ready for check in. The use of smart technology and smart devices was also convenient, as it made it easy to control the various devices in the hotel room right from my bedside. The private onsen bath was also very convenient and comfortable for myself as a solo traveler. "

"Stayed here for one night on 1/27/26 and had a delightful stay. The Fujiya Hotel was expansive and had a lot of history and story. Our room was delightful as we stayed at the Forest Wing with a beautiful view. However, the beds were okay, just felt stiff and not as comfortable as expected. Since we chose the Forest Wing, the walk from the front desk to the room is a little bit far, but it’s okay. Their hotel is lovely to explore as they have a museum at the flower palace, a chapel, pool and then a garden right behind the main building. They offered complimentary amenities such as rest area that serves unlimited soft drinks and hot coffee. We did not use the onsen, however since the bathroom is supplied with hot water from the hot spring, I used my bathtub as a good way to relax in the water. All the staff was professional and kind and provided the utmost high quality guest service. Very friendly and are attentive to making sure their guests have a pleasant stay. The location was good to go see the open air museum. They provide complimentary van shuttle to take you from the hotel to the nearby train station. The difficulty I faced was since I didn’t had a Japanese phone number, I could not contact the hotel for a shuttle to come back when I arrived back at the train station. Instead, I used GO taxi app which was sufficient. Overall, if I were to come back to visit Hakone, I would stay more than 1 night here next time at the Fujiya Hotel and explore their other rooms."

"At the end of a two-week trip to Japan, Hakone Yutowa was a true highlight. We booked one of the condominium suites, which was large even by American hotel standards. The room had its own mineral hot spring bath that faced east and captured a gorgeous sunrise, as well as a spacious sitting room and comfortable beds. The hotel staff were gracious and accommodating, allowing us to leave our bags with them for a few hours after we had checked out. The meals were good, served buffet style; we ate both dinner and breakfast at the hotel. Yukata are provided for guests to wear at meals and around the hotel grounds. The public bath was also fantastic. In the men’s bath, there were two pools, one slightly cooler than the other, as well as a sauna. Although we were not traveling with children, it’s clear that they welcome families here. There are little nooks scattered throughout the property where you will find comic books, toys, places to read and relax, and complimentary snacks and beverages. All in all, it was a really relaxing place to stay. We used the Hakone Free Pass to see the sights, and we definitely recommend the Open-Air Museum, which is one of a kind and features an incredible collection of sculptures by artists from all over the world.
