I had an excellent stay here at Hotel Indigo Hakone. The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous. They speak excellent English as well. The lounge area is nice. The room is even nicer. Big and spacious. Amenities are great and there’s a Nespresso machine. The private onsen is big and clean. The HVAC is too silent which led us to think it wasn’t functioning. But it actually was. Overall I highly recommend this location. And I highly recommend you rent a car instead of taking public transportation.

Very clean space, beautifully and thoughtfully curated. The best is the warmth and helpfulness of the staff. They work as though they love what they do. I appreciate the seamless process for check in and the promptness of each team member I very much appreciated the free shuttle service available to and from Gora station, especially during these cold winter days!

The employees at this hotel are so friendly and nice! The free shuttle bus and car was very convenient as well. As soon as we arrived to the hotel from the shuttle bus, the staff sat us down in the lounge and we were able to get drinks ans snacks! Check in was quick. I stayed in the private onsen room and it was great, room was big and clean!

my husband and i came to the Hotel Indigo Hakone for a night during our honeymoon. this stay was definitely a highlight of our trip. the room was absolutely gorgeous with our private outdoor bath. the surrounding area was beautiful to look at. we had a very relaxing time and experienced great service from the staff. we also enjoyed the convenience of the free shuttle bus from the odawara station.

Very nice hotel, can walk up stairs (very steep) to Gora train and tram station, located on a river, very peaceful. Restaurant food good, bar is a nice place to sit and contemplate your trip. I would return if in the area again.

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. We booked a room with a private onsen on the balcony and a river view. The high price matched the type of room and the hotel, and we expected a pampering experience — but it turned out to be a major disappointment. Right across the river, directly facing the balcony, there is an active construction site. The noise is terrible, and the view is especially unpleasant and completely lacking any sense of tranquility. Soaking in the private onsen was accompanied by unbearable loud noise — the exact opposite of what you’d want after a day of sightseeing. We complained at the front desk and learned that the hotel was fully booked. As compensation for the inconvenience, we received a box of cookies. I’m not sure what was more insulting and frustrating - marketing the room as a luxurious onsen experience, or getting cookies as compensation along with the manager’s very sincere apology. The next morning, at 10:30, just as we were about to leave the room for our day trip, we got a call from the front desk saying a different room had become available. We didn’t want to waste the morning packing and moving, so we declined. Days in Hakone are short, it gets dark early, and every minute counts. Additionally, there were three of us in the room, and the pull-out sofa was extremely uncomfortable. The mattress felt like something you’d find on a camping trip.
